Netko bi mogao pojavu slušanja nepostojećih glasova automatski povezati s neurološkim stanjima poput shizofrenije. Međutim, sad se pokazalo da se pod određenim uvjetima svakome može dogoditi da čuje glasove kojih nema.
Znanstvenici sa Federalnog politehničkog sveučilišta u Lausannei u Švicarskoj i oni sa Sveučilišta Savoie Mont Blanc u Francuskoj htjeli su istražiti što potiče slušno-verbalne halucinacije – odnosno situacije u kojima osoba čuje glas, a nema osobe koja govori.
Testiranje hipoteza
Prethodne studije sugerirale su da su te halucinacije uzrokovane ili nesposobnošću da se osoba pravilno distancira od okoline ili čvrstim uvjerenjem ili pretpostavkom koja nadilazi ono što se stvarno događa u okruženju. Tim je želio testirati obje hipoteze.
“Ovdje smo razvili novu metodu izazivanja slušno-verbalne halucinacije u kontroliranom laboratorijskom okruženju integracijom metoda glasovne percepcije sa senzomotornom stimulacijom, što nam omogućuje istraživanje obje glavne metode”, pišu znanstvenici u svom radu.
Tim je prilagodio tehniku koju su prije koristili, a kada su sudionici pritisnuli gumb ispred sebe, robotska ruka ih je bocnula u leđa. U ovom novom eksperimentu koji je uključivao 48 sudionika, odgoda bockanja bila je različita, a volonteri su nosili slušalice preko kojih su slušali umirujuće zvukove i šumove nalik vodopadu te bi povremeno čuli glasove – i vlastite i tuđe.
Kao i kod prethodnog testa s pritiskanjem gumba, sudionici su izjavili da osjećaju prisutnost iza sebe zbog bockanja, a neki od njih su također rekli da su kroz slušalice čuli glasove kojih nije bilo.
Bez panike
Fenomen slušanja glasova bio je češći ako su sudionici čuli tuđi glas umjesto vlastitog i ako je postojao duži odmak između pritiskanja gumba i bockanja rukom. Bilo je to kao da su sudionici izmislili glas samo zbog osjećaja da netko stoji iza njih.
Znanstvenici smatraju da su ovi rezultati dovoljan dokaz da su obje teorije o izazivanju halucinacija točne: Sudionici nisu uspijevali pravilno pratiti okolinu i bili su pod snažnim utjecajem opisa onoga što se događa oko njih.
Primjetno je da je učestalost glasova kojih nema, rasla s duljinom testova pa je veća vjerojatnost bila da će sudionici čuti fantomske zvukove kako se eksperiment bližio kraju, piše Science Alert.
U konačnici, saznanje što pokreće te halucinacije važno je za razumijevanje njihove veze sa stanjima kao što je Parkinsonova bolest. To je također pokazatelj da čujete li glas u glavi, to ne mora odmah biti razlog za paniku.

Netko bi mogao pojavu slušanja nepostojećih glasova automatski povezati s neurološkim stanjima poput shizofrenije. Međutim, sad se pokazalo da se pod određenim uvjetima svakome može dogoditi da čuje glasove kojih nema.
Znanstvenici sa Federalnog politehničkog sveučilišta u Lausannei u Švicarskoj i oni sa Sveučilišta Savoie Mont Blanc u Francuskoj htjeli su istražiti što potiče slušno-verbalne halucinacije – odnosno situacije u kojima osoba čuje glas, a nema osobe koja govori.
Testiranje hipoteza
Prethodne studije sugerirale su da su te halucinacije uzrokovane ili nesposobnošću da se osoba pravilno distancira od okoline ili čvrstim uvjerenjem ili pretpostavkom koja nadilazi ono što se stvarno događa u okruženju. Tim je želio testirati obje hipoteze.
“Ovdje smo razvili novu metodu izazivanja slušno-verbalne halucinacije u kontroliranom laboratorijskom okruženju integracijom metoda glasovne percepcije sa senzomotornom stimulacijom, što nam omogućuje istraživanje obje glavne metode”, pišu znanstvenici u svom radu.
Tim je prilagodio tehniku koju su prije koristili, a kada su sudionici pritisnuli gumb ispred sebe, robotska ruka ih je bocnula u leđa. U ovom novom eksperimentu koji je uključivao 48 sudionika, odgoda bockanja bila je različita, a volonteri su nosili slušalice preko kojih su slušali umirujuće zvukove i šumove nalik vodopadu te bi povremeno čuli glasove – i vlastite i tuđe.
Kao i kod prethodnog testa s pritiskanjem gumba, sudionici su izjavili da osjećaju prisutnost iza sebe zbog bockanja, a neki od njih su također rekli da su kroz slušalice čuli glasove kojih nije bilo.
Bez panike
Fenomen slušanja glasova bio je češći ako su sudionici čuli tuđi glas umjesto vlastitog i ako je postojao duži odmak između pritiskanja gumba i bockanja rukom. Bilo je to kao da su sudionici izmislili glas samo zbog osjećaja da netko stoji iza njih.
Znanstvenici smatraju da su ovi rezultati dovoljan dokaz da su obje teorije o izazivanju halucinacija točne: Sudionici nisu uspijevali pravilno pratiti okolinu i bili su pod snažnim utjecajem opisa onoga što se događa oko njih.
Primjetno je da je učestalost glasova kojih nema, rasla s duljinom testova pa je veća vjerojatnost bila da će sudionici čuti fantomske zvukove kako se eksperiment bližio kraju, piše Science Alert.
U konačnici, saznanje što pokreće te halucinacije važno je za razumijevanje njihove veze sa stanjima kao što je Parkinsonova bolest. To je također pokazatelj da čujete li glas u glavi, to ne mora odmah biti razlog za paniku.
“Osim novosti i važnog metodološkog utjecaja, ovi rezultati bacaju novo svjetlo na fenomen auditivnih halucinacija, pružajući eksperimentalnu podršku za oba naizgled suprotstavljena tumačenja”, pišu znanstvenici u radu objavljenom u Psychological Medicine.
