Brazil prestaje cijepiti trudnice cjepivom AstraZenece, a Slovačka i kanadske pokrajine Alberta i Ontario obustavljaju uporabu tog cjepiva kod onih koji trebaju primiti prvu dozu cjepiva protiv covida-19.
Brazilska savezna vlada u utorak je na nacionalnoj razini obustavila cijepljenje trudnica cjepivom AstraZenece nakon što je trudnica u Rio de Janeiru umrla od moždanog udara koji je možda bio povezan s cijepljenjem.
Franciele Francinato, koordinator programa cijepljenja ministarstva zdravstva, rekao je novinarima da je to mjera opreza nakon što je medicinski regulator Anvisa ranije izdao upozorenje o uporabi tog cjepiva kod trudnica.
Vlasti istražuju slučaj. Obustava se odnosi samo na cjepivo AstraZenece, ali ne i na Sinovac i Pfizer koji se također primjenjuju u Brazilu.
Anvisa je objavila da je 35-godišnja žena bila trudna 23 tjedna. Umrla je u ponedjeljak od moždanog udara pet dana od dolaska u bolnicu. Bila je cijepljena cjepivom AstraZenece, a Anvisa je priopćila da je njezina smrt možda povezana s uporabom cjepiva.
Slovačka istražuje smrtni slučaj
Slovačko ministarstvo zdravstva objavilo je u utorak da će obustaviti uporabu cjepiva AstraZeneca kod onih koji trebaju primiti prvu dozu cjepiva nakon smrtnog slučaja.
Državni medicinski regulator SUKL objavio je prošli tjedan da je smrt 47-godišnjakinje vjerojatno povezana s cjepivom.
"Ministarstvo zdravstva u ovom trenutku razmatra razne opcije oko ovog pitanja", rekla je glasnogovornica Zuzana Eliasova. "Trenutačno se ljude koji čekaju svoju drugu dozu cijepi cjepivom AstraZenece." Daljnji koraci objavit će se idućih dana, dodala je.
U Slovačkoj, zemlji s 5,5 milijuna stanovnika, prvu dozu cjepiva primilo je 1,26 milijuna ljudi, a nešto manje od 600.000 obje doze.
Slovačka trenutačno cijepi Pfizerom/BioNTechom, Modernom i AstraZenecom. Razmatra uporabu ruskog cjepiva Sputnjika V kojeg EMA nije još odobrila.
Neke europske zemlje privremeno su obustavile cijepljenje AstraZenecom u ožujku nakon izvještaja o pojavi rijetkih krvnih ugrušaka.
No Europska agencija za lijekove (EMA) više je puta navela da koristi cjepiva premašuju rizike.
Njemačka koja je ograničila to cjepivo za starije od 60, objavila je prošli tjedan da će AstraZeneca biti dostupna svim odraslima, uz savjetovanje s liječnikom.
U Norveškoj je vladina Komisija za cijepljenje preporučila da se to cjepivo isključi iz državnog programa cijepljenja.
Alberta i Ontario prestaju nuditi cjepivo AstraZenece
Kanadske pokrajine Alberta i Ontario objavile su utorak da će prestati nuditi cjepivo AstraZenece onima koji trebaju primiti svoju prvu dozu.
Ontario navodi da je rizik od rijetkih krvnih ugrušaka nešto veći nego što se ranije procijenilo.
Alberta je učinila isto, ali ne zbog zabrinutosti od nuspojava, nego jer se ne zna kada bi trebalo stići još pošiljki cjepiva.
Dužnosnici Ontarija rekli su da je otprilike jedna osoba na 60.000 ljudi koji su primili cjepivo u toj pokrajini, ukupno njih osmero, razvila komplikaciju koja uključuje krvne ugruške popraćene niskom razinom trombocita.
Regulatori i stručnjaci u Kanadi, Australiji, Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i Europi ranije su procijenili da se rizik kreće između jednog slučaja na 95.000 ljudi i jednog na 130.000.
Tri smrtna slučaja u Kanadi povezuju se s uporabom cjepiva anglo-švedskog proizvođača.
Dužnosnici navode da je to cjepivo učinkovito, ali ističu da cjepiva Pfizera i Moderne postaju sve dostupnija. Kanada je distribuirala nešto više od 20 milijuna doza različitih cjepiva, od kojih 11,6 posto otpada na cjepivo AstraZenece.

Brazil prestaje cijepiti trudnice cjepivom AstraZenece, a Slovačka i kanadske pokrajine Alberta i Ontario obustavljaju uporabu tog cjepiva kod onih koji trebaju primiti prvu dozu cjepiva protiv covida-19.
Brazilska savezna vlada u utorak je na nacionalnoj razini obustavila cijepljenje trudnica cjepivom AstraZenece nakon što je trudnica u Rio de Janeiru umrla od moždanog udara koji je možda bio povezan s cijepljenjem.
Franciele Francinato, koordinator programa cijepljenja ministarstva zdravstva, rekao je novinarima da je to mjera opreza nakon što je medicinski regulator Anvisa ranije izdao upozorenje o uporabi tog cjepiva kod trudnica.
Vlasti istražuju slučaj. Obustava se odnosi samo na cjepivo AstraZenece, ali ne i na Sinovac i Pfizer koji se također primjenjuju u Brazilu.
Anvisa je objavila da je 35-godišnja žena bila trudna 23 tjedna. Umrla je u ponedjeljak od moždanog udara pet dana od dolaska u bolnicu. Bila je cijepljena cjepivom AstraZenece, a Anvisa je priopćila da je njezina smrt možda povezana s uporabom cjepiva.
Slovačka istražuje smrtni slučaj
Slovačko ministarstvo zdravstva objavilo je u utorak da će obustaviti uporabu cjepiva AstraZeneca kod onih koji trebaju primiti prvu dozu cjepiva nakon smrtnog slučaja.
Državni medicinski regulator SUKL objavio je prošli tjedan da je smrt 47-godišnjakinje vjerojatno povezana s cjepivom.
"Ministarstvo zdravstva u ovom trenutku razmatra razne opcije oko ovog pitanja", rekla je glasnogovornica Zuzana Eliasova. "Trenutačno se ljude koji čekaju svoju drugu dozu cijepi cjepivom AstraZenece." Daljnji koraci objavit će se idućih dana, dodala je.
U Slovačkoj, zemlji s 5,5 milijuna stanovnika, prvu dozu cjepiva primilo je 1,26 milijuna ljudi, a nešto manje od 600.000 obje doze.
Slovačka trenutačno cijepi Pfizerom/BioNTechom, Modernom i AstraZenecom. Razmatra uporabu ruskog cjepiva Sputnjika V kojeg EMA nije još odobrila.
Neke europske zemlje privremeno su obustavile cijepljenje AstraZenecom u ožujku nakon izvještaja o pojavi rijetkih krvnih ugrušaka.
No Europska agencija za lijekove (EMA) više je puta navela da koristi cjepiva premašuju rizike.
Njemačka koja je ograničila to cjepivo za starije od 60, objavila je prošli tjedan da će AstraZeneca biti dostupna svim odraslima, uz savjetovanje s liječnikom.
U Norveškoj je vladina Komisija za cijepljenje preporučila da se to cjepivo isključi iz državnog programa cijepljenja.
Alberta i Ontario prestaju nuditi cjepivo AstraZenece
Kanadske pokrajine Alberta i Ontario objavile su utorak da će prestati nuditi cjepivo AstraZenece onima koji trebaju primiti svoju prvu dozu.
Ontario navodi da je rizik od rijetkih krvnih ugrušaka nešto veći nego što se ranije procijenilo.
Alberta je učinila isto, ali ne zbog zabrinutosti od nuspojava, nego jer se ne zna kada bi trebalo stići još pošiljki cjepiva.
Dužnosnici Ontarija rekli su da je otprilike jedna osoba na 60.000 ljudi koji su primili cjepivo u toj pokrajini, ukupno njih osmero, razvila komplikaciju koja uključuje krvne ugruške popraćene niskom razinom trombocita.
Regulatori i stručnjaci u Kanadi, Australiji, Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu i Europi ranije su procijenili da se rizik kreće između jednog slučaja na 95.000 ljudi i jednog na 130.000.
Tri smrtna slučaja u Kanadi povezuju se s uporabom cjepiva anglo-švedskog proizvođača.
Dužnosnici navode da je to cjepivo učinkovito, ali ističu da cjepiva Pfizera i Moderne postaju sve dostupnija. Kanada je distribuirala nešto više od 20 milijuna doza različitih cjepiva, od kojih 11,6 posto otpada na cjepivo AstraZenece.
