Nakon desetog mjesta na turniru u Zagrebu, pomlađena hrvatska ragbijaška reprezentacija osvojila je sjajno peto mjesto na drugom turniru  Europskog prvenstva ragbija 7, Trophy divizije u Budimpešti.

Hrvatski ragbijaši su u skupini pobijedili Mađarsku (29-17), a izgubili od Walesa (5-50) i Danske (14-19), da bi u četvrtfinalu izgubili od kasnijeg prvaka Irske 0-57. No, u razigravanju od petog do osmog mjesta ostvarili su dvije pobjede.

Prvo ponovno protiv domaćina Mađara, ovaj put 24-19 polaganjem kapetana Nikole Pavlovića u produžetku dramatične utakmice. A zatim su u bori za peto mjesto svladali Švedsku sa 26-21.

- Jako sam sretan, kad nakon desetog mjesta u Zagrebu ovoliko napredujemo u tjedan dana, to je sjajno. Kad maknete na stranu veliku trojku Irsku, Englesku i Wales, mi smo tu, na samom vrhu. S ovako mladom momčadi, koju je predvodio povratnik nakon ozljede Nik Jurišić, koji je igrač prevage. To sam rekao i nakon Zagreba, kad učite i napredujete, porazi nisu tako strašni. Ovdje smo puno manje griješili - rekao je izbornik Anthony Poša.

Irska, Engleska, Wales i Rumunjska izborili su ulazak u viši rang, a s ostalim suparnicima Hrvatska će igrati i iduće sezone.

- Ragbi 7 je jako zahtjevan, a klupska razina u Hrvatskoj puno je niža od ove. Zato treba raditi cijele godine, jer u tri tjedna koliko provedemo pripremajući se za ovakve turnire nije dovoljno. Protiv Walesa i Irske sam i odmarao neke igrače, fokus nam je bio da pobijedimo Mađarsku i Švedsku - dodao je Poša.

U finalu je, kao i u Zagrebu, Irska pobijedila Englesku, ovaj put bilo je 35-14, a treći je bio Wales.

Konačni poredak turnira u Budimpešti: 1. Irska, 2. Engleska, 3. Wales, 4. Rumunjska, 5. Hrvatska, 6. Švedska, 7. Mađarska, 8. Luksemburg, 9. Izrael, 10. Latvija, 11. Bugarska, 12. Danska.

Ukupni poredak nakon oba turnira: 1. Irska 40 bodova, 2. Engleska 36, 3. Wales 32, 4. Rumunjska 26, 5. Mađarska 22, 6. Švedska 18, 7. Hrvatska 15, 8. Izrael 14, 9. Luksemburg 12, 10. Danska 5, 11. Latvija 5, 12. Bugarska 3.

Nakon desetog mjesta na turniru u Zagrebu, pomlađena hrvatska ragbijaška reprezentacija osvojila je sjajno peto mjesto na drugom turniru  Europskog prvenstva ragbija 7, Trophy divizije u Budimpešti.

Hrvatski ragbijaši su u skupini pobijedili Mađarsku (29-17), a izgubili od Walesa (5-50) i Danske (14-19), da bi u četvrtfinalu izgubili od kasnijeg prvaka Irske 0-57. No, u razigravanju od petog do osmog mjesta ostvarili su dvije pobjede.

Prvo ponovno protiv domaćina Mađara, ovaj put 24-19 polaganjem kapetana Nikole Pavlovića u produžetku dramatične utakmice. A zatim su u bori za peto mjesto svladali Švedsku sa 26-21.

- Jako sam sretan, kad nakon desetog mjesta u Zagrebu ovoliko napredujemo u tjedan dana, to je sjajno. Kad maknete na stranu veliku trojku Irsku, Englesku i Wales, mi smo tu, na samom vrhu. S ovako mladom momčadi, koju je predvodio povratnik nakon ozljede Nik Jurišić, koji je igrač prevage. To sam rekao i nakon Zagreba, kad učite i napredujete, porazi nisu tako strašni. Ovdje smo puno manje griješili - rekao je izbornik Anthony Poša.

Irska, Engleska, Wales i Rumunjska izborili su ulazak u viši rang, a s ostalim suparnicima Hrvatska će igrati i iduće sezone.

- Ragbi 7 je jako zahtjevan, a klupska razina u Hrvatskoj puno je niža od ove. Zato treba raditi cijele godine, jer u tri tjedna koliko provedemo pripremajući se za ovakve turnire nije dovoljno. Protiv Walesa i Irske sam i odmarao neke igrače, fokus nam je bio da pobijedimo Mađarsku i Švedsku - dodao je Poša.

U finalu je, kao i u Zagrebu, Irska pobijedila Englesku, ovaj put bilo je 35-14, a treći je bio Wales.

Konačni poredak turnira u Budimpešti: 1. Irska, 2. Engleska, 3. Wales, 4. Rumunjska, 5. Hrvatska, 6. Švedska, 7. Mađarska, 8. Luksemburg, 9. Izrael, 10. Latvija, 11. Bugarska, 12. Danska.

Ukupni poredak nakon oba turnira: 1. Irska 40 bodova, 2. Engleska 36, 3. Wales 32, 4. Rumunjska 26, 5. Mađarska 22, 6. Švedska 18, 7. Hrvatska 15, 8. Izrael 14, 9. Luksemburg 12, 10. Danska 5, 11. Latvija 5, 12. Bugarska 3.

Ragbijaška reprezentacija u 'sedmici'

Nakon desetog mjesta na turniru u Zagrebu, pomlađena hrvatska ragbijaška reprezentacija osvojila je sjajno peto mjesto na drugom turniru  Europskog prvenstva ragbija 7, Trophy divizije u Budimpešti.

Hrvatski ragbijaši su u skupini pobijedili Mađarsku (29-17), a izgubili od Walesa (5-50) i Danske (14-19), da bi u četvrtfinalu izgubili od kasnijeg prvaka Irske 0-57. No, u razigravanju od petog do osmog mjesta ostvarili su dvije pobjede.

Prvo ponovno protiv domaćina Mađara, ovaj put 24-19 polaganjem kapetana Nikole Pavlovića u produžetku dramatične utakmice. A zatim su u bori za peto mjesto svladali Švedsku sa 26-21.
