Singapurski ORL specijalist i kirurg glave i vrata, dr. Chris Hobbs, objasnio je zašto nikad ne bi trebalo čistiti uši sa pamučnim štapićima, osim što zna biti neugodno, ovakav način čišćenja može biti izrazito opasan.

1. Nepotrebno je

Uho se čisti samo. Nije potrebno rutinsko održavanje. Ako stavljate štapiće u uši kako biste uklonili ušni vosak ili spriječili njegovo nakupljanje, razmislite ponovno. Ušni vosak se proizvodi unutar ušnog kanala i prirodno migrira iz dubljeg dijela prema van. Postoje iznimke, naravno. Neki ljudi stvaraju više od prosječne količine ušnog voska, a za druge (osobito starije odrasle osobe) on postaje tvrđi i suši nego inače. Čak ni u tim situacijama, umetanje štapića u uho nije rješenje.

2. Može biti štetno

Umetanje štapića s vatom (ili bilo čega drugog) u uho može oštetiti ušni kanal ili bubnjić ili gurnuti ušni vosak dublje u kanal, što otežava uklanjanje. To može uzrokovati osjećaj pritiska u uhu i gubitak sluha. Još gore, nakupine ušnog voska gurnute blizu bubnjića mogu dovesti do infekcije uha, boli ili začepljenja uha, prenosi drchrishobbs.

3. Ušni vosak nije znak loše higijene

Ušni vosak - medicinski izraz je "cerumen" - postoji s razlogom. To je prirodni ovlaživač koji sprječava presušenje kože unutar uha. Hvata prljavštinu i prašinu prije nego što dopru duboko u kanal. Upija mrtve stanice kože i ostatke. Sprječava bakterije i druge zarazne organizme da dopru do bubnjića.

Neki ljudi stvaraju više ušnog voska, dok drugi manje. Sastav ušnog voska razlikuje se ovisno o etničkoj pripadnosti, dobi, okolišu, pa čak i prehrani. Prisutnost ušnog voska nije odraz nečistoće; zapravo, to je znak normalnih, zdravih ušiju.

Što učiniti s "cerumenozom"

Nakupljanje ušnog voska može uzrokovati određene simptome. To se naziva "cerumenoza" ili impaktirani vosak. Mogu se koristiti bezreceptne kapi za uši koje mogu omekšati ušni vosak i omogućiti mu lakši izlazak iz uha (uz nježno ispiranje, primjerice tijekom tuširanja). Ili ORL specijalist može pogledati unutrašnjost vašeg uha i koristiti instrumente posebno dizajnirane za uklanjanje ušnog voska, piše drchrishobbs.

Postoji razlog zašto proizvođači štapića s vatom stavljaju ovo upozorenje na svoje pakiranje: "Nemojte stavljati štapić u ušni kanal. Ulazak u ušni kanal može uzrokovati ozljedu." Ali, i dalje većina ljudi koristi baš ovu metodu čišćenja ušiju. Možda je jednostavno previše primamljivo ili zadovoljavajuće. Možda nitko ne čita etikete proizvoda koje koristi. Ili su možda mitovi o ušnom vosku previše ukorijenjeni da bi ih se lako raspršilo činjenicama. Bez obzira na razloge, sada znate da prestanete stavljati štapiće s vatom u uši. A to vrijedi i za rasklopljene spajalice, kapice za olovke ili bilo što drugo što ste koristili!

Singapurski ORL specijalist i kirurg glave i vrata, dr. Chris Hobbs, objasnio je zašto nikad ne bi trebalo čistiti uši sa pamučnim štapićima, osim što zna biti neugodno, ovakav način čišćenja može biti izrazito opasan.

1. Nepotrebno je

Uho se čisti samo. Nije potrebno rutinsko održavanje. Ako stavljate štapiće u uši kako biste uklonili ušni vosak ili spriječili njegovo nakupljanje, razmislite ponovno. Ušni vosak se proizvodi unutar ušnog kanala i prirodno migrira iz dubljeg dijela prema van. Postoje iznimke, naravno. Neki ljudi stvaraju više od prosječne količine ušnog voska, a za druge (osobito starije odrasle osobe) on postaje tvrđi i suši nego inače. Čak ni u tim situacijama, umetanje štapića u uho nije rješenje.

2. Može biti štetno

Umetanje štapića s vatom (ili bilo čega drugog) u uho može oštetiti ušni kanal ili bubnjić ili gurnuti ušni vosak dublje u kanal, što otežava uklanjanje. Što učiniti s "cerumenozom"

Nakupljanje ušnog voska može uzrokovati određene simptome. To se naziva "cerumenoza" ili impaktirani vosak. Mogu se koristiti bezreceptne kapi za uši koje mogu omekšati ušni vosak i omogućiti mu lakši izlazak iz uha (uz nježno ispiranje, primjerice tijekom tuširanja). Postoji razlog zašto proizvođači štapića s vatom stavljaju ovo upozorenje na svoje pakiranje: "Nemojte stavljati štapić u ušni kanal. Ulazak u ušni kanal može uzrokovati ozljedu." Ali, i dalje većina ljudi koristi baš ovu metodu čišćenja ušiju. Možda je jednostavno previše primamljivo ili zadovoljavajuće. Možda nitko ne čita etikete proizvoda koje koristi. Ili su možda mitovi o ušnom vosku previše ukorijenjeni da bi ih se lako raspršilo činjenicama. Bez obzira na razloge, sada znate da prestanete stavljati štapiće s vatom u uši.
