Pixarov software RenderMan, koji se u posljednje vrijeme suočava sa sve oštrijom konkurencijom sličnih programa poput VRaya i Arnolda, bit će besplatno dostupan svima za nekomercijalnu upotrebu, a i cijena korištenja za komercijalnu upotrebu bit će znatno smanjena, objavila je tvrtka, prenosi BBC.

Premda Pixar proizvodi svoje filmove, i ranije je svoj software iznajmljivao drugim konkurentskim studijima.

Tvrtka je najavila da će uskoro objaviti besplatnu verziju RenderMana, "bez ikakvih funkcionalnih ili vremenskih ograničenja".

"Nekomercijalni RenderMan bit će besplatno dostupan studentima, institucijama, znanstvenicima, kao i za osobnu upotrebu", navodi se u izjavi Pixara, slavnog studija za kompjutersku animaciju koji je osvojio čak sedam Oscara za najbolji animirani film, za filmove "Potraga za Nemom", "Izbavitelji", "Juhu-hu", "WALL-E", "Nebesa", "Priča o igračkama 3" i "Merida hrabra".

Tvrtka je najavila da će uskoro objaviti besplatnu verziju RenderMana, "bez ikakvih funkcionalnih ili vremenskih ograničenja".

"Nekomercijalni RenderMan bit će besplatno dostupan studentima, institucijama, znanstvenicima, kao i za osobnu upotrebu", navodi se u izjavi Pixara, slavnog studija za kompjutersku animaciju koji je osvojio čak sedam Oscara za najbolji animirani film, za filmove "Potraga za Nemom", "Izbavitelji", "Juhu-hu", "WALL-E", "Nebesa", "Priča o igračkama 3" i "Merida hrabra".
