Ruski parlament dovršio je u srijedu izglasavanje zakona kojim se Moskva povlači iz ratifikacije globalnog sporazuma o zabrani testiranja nuklearnog oružja.

Gornji dom, Vijeće Federacije, odobrilo je zakon jednoglasno sa 156 glasova nakon što ga je donji dom, Duma, također jednoglasno usvojio. Sada ide predsjedniku Vladimiru Putinu na potpisivanje.

Putin je ranije ovog mjeseca pozvao zastupnike da uvedu promjenu kako bi "odrazili" stav Sjedinjenih Država, koje su potpisale, ali nikada nisu ratificirale Ugovor o sveobuhvatnoj zabrani nuklearnih pokusa (CTBT).

Rusija kaže da neće nastaviti s nuklearnim testiranjem osim ako to ne učini Washington, ali stručnjaci za kontrolu naoružanja zabrinuti su da bi to moglo dovesti dio približavanja testu koji bi Zapad doživio kao prijeteću eskalaciju u kontekstu rata u Ukrajini.

Iako nikada nije formalno stupio na snagu, CTBT je učinio nuklearna testiranja tabuom - nijedna zemlja osim Sjeverne Koreje nije izvela testiranje koje uključuje nuklearnu eksploziju u ovom stoljeću.

Stručnjaci za kontrolu naoružanja kažu da bi ruski ili američki pokus mogao pokrenuti novu utrku u naoružanju u trenutku akutne međunarodne napetosti, s ratovima koji bjesne u Ukrajini i na Bliskom istoku. Kažu da ako bi jedna zemlja provela nuklearno testiranje, druga bi vjerojatno učinila isto, a druge poput Kine, Indije i Pakistana bi mogle slijediti.

CNN je prošlog mjeseca objavio satelitske slike koje pokazuju da su Rusija, Sjedinjene Države i Kina posljednjih godina izgradile nova postrojenja na svojim poligonima za nuklearna testiranja.

Američko ministarstvo energetike priopćilo je prošli tjedan da je izvelo kemijsku eksploziju na svom poligonu za nuklearna testiranja u Nevadi "kako bi se poboljšala sposobnost Sjedinjenih Država da otkriju nuklearne eksplozije male snage diljem svijeta".

Obraćajući se ruskim zastupnicima prije glasanja u srijedu, zamjenik ministra vanjskih poslova Sergej Rjabkov rekao je da je eksplozija u Nevadi "nedvojbeno politički signal".

"Kao što je rekao naš predsjednik, moramo biti na oprezu i ako Sjedinjene Države krenu prema početku nuklearnih pokusa, morat ćemo ovdje odgovoriti na isti način", rekao je.

Ruski parlament dovršio je u srijedu izglasavanje zakona kojim se Moskva povlači iz ratifikacije globalnog sporazuma o zabrani testiranja nuklearnog oružja.

Gornji dom, Vijeće Federacije, odobrilo je zakon jednoglasno sa 156 glasova nakon što ga je donji dom, Duma, također jednoglasno usvojio. Sada ide predsjedniku Vladimiru Putinu na potpisivanje.

Putin je ranije ovog mjeseca pozvao zastupnike da uvedu promjenu kako bi "odrazili" stav Sjedinjenih Država, koje su potpisale, ali nikada nisu ratificirale Ugovor o sveobuhvatnoj zabrani nuklearnih pokusa (CTBT).

Iako nikada nije formalno stupio na snagu, CTBT je učinio nuklearna testiranja tabuom - nijedna zemlja osim Sjeverne Koreje nije izvela testiranje koje uključuje nuklearnu eksploziju u ovom stoljeću.

Stručnjaci za kontrolu naoružanja kažu da bi ruski ili američki pokus mogao pokrenuti novu utrku u naoružanju u trenutku akutne međunarodne napetosti, s ratovima koji bjesne u Ukrajini i na Bliskom istoku. Kažu da ako bi jedna zemlja provela nuklearno testiranje, druga bi vjerojatno učinila isto, a druge poput Kine, Indije i Pakistana bi mogle slijediti.

CNN je prošlog mjeseca objavio satelitske slike koje pokazuju da su Rusija, Sjedinjene Države i Kina posljednjih godina izgradile nova postrojenja na svojim poligonima za nuklearna testiranja.

Američko ministarstvo energetike priopćilo je prošli tjedan da je izvelo kemijsku eksploziju na svom poligonu za nuklearna testiranja u Nevadi "kako bi se poboljšala sposobnost Sjedinjenih Država da otkriju nuklearne eksplozije male snage diljem svijeta".

Obraćajući se ruskim zastupnicima prije glasanja u srijedu, zamjenik ministra vanjskih poslova Sergej Rjabkov rekao je da je eksplozija u Nevadi "nedvojbeno politički signal".

"Kao što je rekao naš predsjednik, moramo biti na oprezu i ako Sjedinjene Države krenu prema početku nuklearnih pokusa, morat ćemo ovdje odgovoriti na isti način", rekao je.

Ruski parlament dovršio je u srijedu izglasavanje zakona kojim se Moskva povlači iz ratifikacije globalnog sporazuma o zabrani testiranja nuklearnog oružja.

Gornji dom, Vijeće Federacije, odobrilo je zakon jednoglasno sa 156 glasova nakon što ga je donji dom, Duma, također jednoglasno usvojio. Sada ide predsjedniku Vladimiru Putinu na potpisivanje.

Putin je ranije ovog mjeseca pozvao zastupnike da uvedu promjenu kako bi "odrazili" stav Sjedinjenih Država, koje su potpisale, ali nikada nisu ratificirale Ugovor o sveobuhvatnoj zabrani nuklearnih pokusa (CTBT).
