Sjedinjene Države dosegnut će u srijedu tri milijuna zaraženih covidom-19, a predsjednik Donald Trump ustraje u tvrdnji da smrtnost opada, što je netočno u najvećim žarištima pandemije.
SAD-u je trebalo tri mjeseca da dosegne broj od tri milijuna zaraženih, što se dogodilo krajem travnja istodobno kada i Europskoj uniji.
U međuvremenu, Sjedinjene Države dijagnosticirale su novih dva milijuna zaraženih u vrijeme kada je EU zabilježila novih 270.000 slučajeva.
Posljednji milijun zaraženih dogodio se SAD-u u manje od mjesec dana. Amerikanci nisu nikada izašli iz prvog vala zaraze koja se kretala geografski te su pokazatelji u crvenom u nekoliko najnapučenijih saveznih država kao što su Teksas i Florida: svakog dana potvrdi se više slučajeva, sve je više zauzetih bolničkih kreveta i sve je više umrlih.
Američki predsjednik niječe stvarnost te je u srijedu tvitao "da je postotak smrtnosti od koronavirusa podijeljen s deset!"
Ta tvrdnja zavarava: istina je da je prosječno SAD daleko od travanjskog rekordnog broja smrtnosti od covida-19 kada je na dan umiralo više od 3000 ljudi, jer zadnjih dana umire prosječno 600 ljudi.
No SAD nije jedinstven pa je tako sjeveroistok zemlje oko New Yorka uspio kontrolirati koronavirus i broj oboljelih stalno pada.
Na jugu i zapadu, naprotiv, broj slučajeva raste. Nacionalni prosjek je stabilan, ali u stvarnosti sanitarna kriza izbila je u velikom dijelu SAD-a.
"Rastemo, nismo nikada pali i sada upravo broj raste", rekao je Anthony Fauci, najviši stručnjak za zarazne bolesti u američkoj vladi koji sve češće aktivno zvoni na uzbunu.
U brojnim područjima juga i zapada, broj zaraženih raste brže od testiranja, što dokazuje da virus sve više kruži i da rast slučajeva nije samo posljedica testiranja blagih i asimptomatskih slučajeva koji ne bi bili otkriveni u proljeće, kada nije bilo dovoljno testiranja.

Savezna država Arizona ima dvostruko više smrti nego prije mjesec dana (42 smrti na dan u prosjeku prošli tjedan u odnosu na prijašnjih prosječnih 19 mrtvih). Broj bolničkih pacijenata od covida-19 utrostručio se u mjesec dana.
U Australiji primjerice u Melbourneu ponovno je uvedena mjera izolacije kada je registriran 191 novi slučaj zaraze u 24 sata. Teksas i Florida objavili su više od 10.000 novozaraženih u utorak, no nova izolacija nije pokrenuta. Gradonačelnici Houstona i Austina, dva najveća grada u Teksasu, upozorili su zadnjih dana da će bolnice biti preplavljene oboljelima od covida za dva tjedna, predviđajući da će nastati situacija kakvu je proživio New York u ožujku i travnju.
U usporedbi s Europskom unijom, broj umrlih od koronavirusa po stanovniku u SAD-u je sedam puta veći (1,0 umrlih na milijun stanovnika u odnosu na 0,25 u Europskoj uniji, prema podacima koje objavljuje Our World in Data).
Čak i ruralna područja, koja su bila pošteđena pandemije u proljeće, danas to više nisu.
U Montani, Wyomingu ili Idahu, svaka zaražena osoba zarazi prosječno 1,3 osobu, prema podacima rt.live, a pokazatelj mora ostati ispod 1 da bi se epidemija iskorijenila.
Kako savezne vlasti ne donose odluke o akciji, guverneri pojedinih država ili gradonačelnici djeluju po svojoj savjesti i naređuju uz prijetnju novčane kazne nošenje higijenske maske kada održavanje fizičkog razmaka nije moguće.
Nadalje, lokalni dužnosnici zatvaraju barove, restorane i druga mjesta okupljanja. No razne mjere nisu korehentne i poruke javnog zdravstva kao da pomažu virusu.
Donald Trump je u utorak na pitanje televiije Fox News rekao da se ne slaže se dr. Faucijem.
"Dobro smo (...) Odradili smo dobar posao. Mislim da ćemo za dva, tri, četiri tjedna biti u odličnoj poziciji".
I idućih četiri tjedna, više od 15.000 Amerikanaca umrijet će od covida-19, pokazuje izračun prosječnih epidemoloških modela koje je objvilo sveučiliše Massachusetts, a to znači ukupno će broj žrtava 1. kolovoza dosegnuti 147.

Sjedinjene Države dosegnut će u srijedu tri milijuna zaraženih covidom-19, a predsjednik Donald Trump ustraje u tvrdnji da smrtnost opada, što je netočno u najvećim žarištima pandemije.
SAD-u je trebalo tri mjeseca da dosegne broj od tri milijuna zaraženih, što se dogodilo krajem travnja istodobno kada i Europskoj uniji.
U međuvremenu, Sjedinjene Države dijagnosticirale su novih dva milijuna zaraženih u vrijeme kada je EU zabilježila novih 270.000 slučajeva.
Posljednji milijun zaraženih dogodio se SAD-u u manje od mjesec dana. Amerikanci nisu nikada izašli iz prvog vala zaraze koja se kretala geografski te su pokazatelji u crvenom u nekoliko najnapučenijih saveznih država kao što su Teksas i Florida: svakog dana potvrdi se više slučajeva, sve je više zauzetih bolničkih kreveta i sve je više umrlih.
Američki predsjednik niječe stvarnost te je u srijedu tvitao "da je postotak smrtnosti od koronavirusa podijeljen s deset!"
Ta tvrdnja zavarava: istina je da je prosječno SAD daleko od travanjskog rekordnog broja smrtnosti od covida-19 kada je na dan umiralo više od 3000 ljudi, jer zadnjih dana umire prosječno 600 ljudi.
No SAD nije jedinstven pa je tako sjeveroistok zemlje oko New Yorka uspio kontrolirati koronavirus i broj oboljelih stalno pada.
Na jugu i zapadu, naprotiv, broj slučajeva raste. Nacionalni prosjek je stabilan, ali u stvarnosti sanitarna kriza izbila je u velikom dijelu SAD-a.
"Rastemo, nismo nikada pali i sada upravo broj raste", rekao je Anthony Fauci, najviši stručnjak za zarazne bolesti u američkoj vladi koji sve češće aktivno zvoni na uzbunu.
U brojnim područjima juga i zapada, broj zaraženih raste brže od testiranja, što dokazuje da virus sve više kruži i da rast slučajeva nije samo posljedica testiranja blagih i asimptomatskih slučajeva koji ne bi bili otkriveni u proljeće, kada nije bilo dovoljno testiranja.

U Australiji primjerice u Melbourneu ponovno je uvedena mjera izolacije kada je registriran 191 novi slučaj zaraze u 24 sata. Teksas i Florida objavili su više od 10.000 novozaraženih u utorak, no nova izolacija nije pokrenuta. Gradonačelnici Houstona i Austina, dva najveća grada u Teksasu, upozorili su zadnjih dana da će bolnice biti preplavljene oboljelima od covida za dva tjedna, predviđajući da će nastati situacija kakvu je proživio New York u ožujku i travnju.
U usporedbi s Europskom unijom, broj umrlih od koronavirusa po stanovniku u SAD-u je sedam puta veći (1,0 umrlih na milijun stanovnika u odnosu na 0,25 u Europskoj uniji, prema podacima koje objavljuje Our World in Data).
Čak i ruralna područja, koja su bila pošteđena pandemije u proljeće, danas to više nisu.
U Montani, Wyomingu ili Idahu, svaka zaražena osoba zarazi prosječno 1,3 osobu, prema podacima rt.live, a pokazatelj mora ostati ispod 1 da bi se epidemija iskorijenila.
Kako savezne vlasti ne donose odluke o akciji, guverneri pojedinih država ili gradonačelnici djeluju po svojoj savjesti i naređuju uz prijetnju novčane kazne nošenje higijenske maske kada održavanje fizičkog razmaka nije moguće.
Nadalje, lokalni dužnosnici zatvaraju barove, restorane i druga mjesta okupljanja. No razne mjere nisu korehentne i poruke javnog zdravstva kao da pomažu virusu.
Donald Trump je u utorak na pitanje televiije Fox News rekao da se ne slaže se dr. Faucijem.
"Dobro smo (...) Odradili smo dobar posao. Mislim da ćemo za dva, tri, četiri tjedna biti u odličnoj poziciji".
I idućih četiri tjedna, više od 15.000 Amerikanaca umrijet će od covida-19, pokazuje izračun prosječnih epidemoloških modela koje je objvilo sveučiliše Massachusetts, a to znači ukupno će broj žrtava 1. kolovoza dosegnuti 147.
