Jevgenij Prigožin preminuo je u padu aviona nedaleko Moskve. 

Sve u vezi s Jevgenijem Prigožinom bilo je krajnje mutno i, naravno, postalo je još mutnije nakon njegovog marša na Moskvu u lipnju ove godine kada je javnost počela postavljati pitanja o tome može li on preživjeti. Njegov profil ranije je objavio Politico. 

TKO JE BIO JEVGENIJ PRIGOŽIN?

Visoko profilirani, provokativni vođa plaćenika sa sklonošću trolanju po medijskim kućama, Prigožin je predvodio sudjelovanje privatne Wagner grupe u ruskom agresorskom ratu protiv Ukrajine. Njegova povijest s vodstvom u Moskvi seže desetljećima unatrag.

ŠTO JE WAGNER GRUPA?

Wagnerova grupa je organizacija militantnih plaćenika koji su radili uz rusku vojsku tijekom invazije te zemlje na Ukrajinu. Čini se da je Wagnerovo rano podrijetlo 2014., kada je izbio sukob između Ukrajine i Rusije oko krimske regije. Prigožin je na društvenim mrežama rekao da je nastojao izgraditi grupu boraca koji bi mogli braniti ruske interese u regiji. Skupina je bila povezana sa sukobima u Libiji, Siriji i nekoliko drugih afričkih zemalja.

Paravojne snage doživjele su eksplozivan rast tijekom ukrajinskog rata, s desecima tisuća boraca koji su sada pod njihovom kontrolom. Kao šef Wagnerove grupe tijekom cijelog sukoba, Prigožin se često sukobljavao s ruskim vojnim čelnicima. Objavio je videozapise koji su u suprotnosti s ruskim narativom o glatkoj vojnoj operaciji. Često je tvrdio da su njegove snage vodile borbu u Ukrajini, dok je dovodio u pitanje sposobnost ruske vojske. U svibnju je snimio video uz uniformirana mrtva tijela, psujući vođe zbog nedovoljne spremnosti.

KAKAV JE BIO PRIGOŽINOV ODNOS S PUTINOM?

Ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin i Prigožin dijele isti rodni grad, Sankt Peterburg (tada Lenjingrad). Dok je Putin od insajdera KGB-a dospio do ruskog čelnika, Prigožin je odslužio desetogodišnju zatvorsku kaznu počevši od svojih tinejdžerskih godina prije nego što je otvorio štand s hot-dogovima.

Brzo je počeo stjecati utjecaj u ugostiteljskoj industriji prije nego što je privukao Putinovu pozornost. U vrijeme kada je Putin bio u najvišim ešalonima ruske vlade, Prigožin je pomagao posluživati ​​njegove državne večere - poput one održane 2006. s tadašnjim predsjednikom Georgeom W. Bushom - zbog čega je dobio nadimak "Putinov kuhar".

Putin je pomogao Prigožinu otvoriti tvornicu školske prehrane uz velikodušne zajmove koje je financirala država. Prigožin je također posjedovao barem dio Concord Management and Consultinga, tvrtke za koju su dužnosnici Ministarstva pravosuđa sumnjali da je financirala online operacije trolanja u korist Trumpa tijekom izbora 2016. godine.

Jevgenij Prigožin preminuo je u padu aviona nedaleko Moskve. 

Sve u vezi s Jevgenijem Prigožinom bilo je krajnje mutno i, naravno, postalo je još mutnije nakon njegovog marša na Moskvu u lipnju ove godine kada je javnost počela postavljati pitanja o tome može li on preživjeti. Njegov profil ranije je objavio Politico. 

TKO JE BIO JEVGENIJ PRIGOŽIN?

Visoko profilirani, provokativni vođa plaćenika sa sklonošću trolanju po medijskim kućama, Prigožin je predvodio sudjelovanje privatne Wagner grupe u ruskom agresorskom ratu protiv Ukrajine. Njegova povijest s vodstvom u Moskvi seže desetljećima unatrag.

ŠTO JE WAGNER GRUPA?

Wagnerova grupa je organizacija militantnih plaćenika koji su radili uz rusku vojsku tijekom invazije te zemlje na Ukrajinu. Čini se da je Wagnerovo rano podrijetlo 2014., kada je izbio sukob između Ukrajine i Rusije oko krimske regije. Prigožin je na društvenim mrežama rekao da je nastojao izgraditi grupu boraca koji bi mogli braniti ruske interese u regiji. Skupina je bila povezana sa sukobima u Libiji, Siriji i nekoliko drugih afričkih zemalja.
