Afganistanci daju svojoj gladnoj djeci lijekove kako bi ih uspavali, a neki su prodali svoje kćeri ili organe da bi preživjeli. Drugu zimu otkako su se na vlast vratili talibani, a strana pomoć je obustavljena, milijuni Afganistanaca na rubu su gladi, piše u četvrtak BBC.
"Naša djeca stalno plaču i ne spavaju. Nemamo hrane", rekao je Abdul Wahab. "Pa odemo u ljekarnu, kupimo tablete i damo ih našoj djeci kako bi bila spavala".
On živi nedaleko od Herata, trećeg najvećeg grada u zemlji, u naselju koje čine tisuće malih kuća od blata koje raste desetljećima, puno ljudi koji su morali napustiti svoje domove zbog rata i prirodnih katastrofa.
Na pitanje koliko ih daje lijekove djeci da bi ih sedirali, kaže: "Puno, mi svi".
Ghulam Hazrat izvukao je iz džepa neke tablete. To je bio lijek za smirenje alprazolam koji se obično propisuje za liječene anksioznih poremećaja.
On ima šestero djece, najmlađe godinu dana. "Čak ga i njemu dajem", rekao je. Drugi imaju tablete koje se propisuju za liječenje depresije i anksioznosti.
Liječnici kažu da takvi lijekovi, kada se daju djeci koja su neishranjena, mogu uzrokovati oštećenja jetre te čitav spektar drugih problema kao što su kronični umor i poremećaji spavanja i ponašanja.

"Sada smo prisiljeni prodati svoju dvogodišnju kćer. Ljudi od kojih smo posudili svakodnevno nas maltretiraju, govoreći dajte nam svoju kćer ako nam ne možete vratiti", rekla je.

Afganistanci daju svojoj gladnoj djeci lijekove kako bi ih uspavali, a neki su prodali svoje kćeri ili organe da bi preživjeli. Drugu zimu otkako su se na vlast vratili talibani, a strana pomoć je obustavljena, milijuni Afganistanaca na rubu su gladi, piše u četvrtak BBC.
"Naša djeca stalno plaču i ne spavaju. Nemamo hrane", rekao je Abdul Wahab. "Pa odemo u ljekarnu, kupimo tablete i damo ih našoj djeci kako bi bila spavala".
On živi nedaleko od Herata, trećeg najvećeg grada u zemlji, u naselju koje čine tisuće malih kuća od blata koje raste desetljećima, puno ljudi koji su morali napustiti svoje domove zbog rata i prirodnih katastrofa.
Na pitanje koliko ih daje lijekove djeci da bi ih sedirali, kaže: "Puno, mi svi".
Ghulam Hazrat izvukao je iz džepa neke tablete. To je bio lijek za smirenje alprazolam koji se obično propisuje za liječene anksioznih poremećaja.
On ima šestero djece, najmlađe godinu dana. "Čak ga i njemu dajem", rekao je. Drugi imaju tablete koje se propisuju za liječenje depresije i anksioznosti.
Liječnici kažu da takvi lijekovi, kada se daju djeci koja su neishranjena, mogu uzrokovati oštećenja jetre te čitav spektar drugih problema kao što su kronični umor i poremećaji spavanja i ponašanja.

UN je upozorio da se u Afganistanu događa humanitarna "katastrofa".
Iako Afganistanci teško žive već godinama, kada su talibani prošlog kolovoza preuzeli vlast, bez međunarodnog priznanja nove de facto vlade, strana sredstva koja su pritjecala u Afganistan su zamrznuta, što je izazvalo ekonomski kolaps koji je muškarce ostavio bez posla većinu dana.
Roditelji prodaju organe i kćeri
Ammar, što nije njegovo pravo ime jer je želio ostati neimenovan, rekao je da je imao operaciju uklanjanja bubrega prije tri mjeseca i pokazao ožiljak koji mu se proteže preko trbuha od prednjeg dijela tijela do stražnjeg dijela.
U svojim je dvadesetima, na vrhuncu života. "Nije bilo izlaza. Čuo sam da možete prodati bubreg u lokalnoj bolnici. Otišao sam tamo i rekao im da to želim. Nekoliko tjedana kasnije primio sam telefonski poziv i zamolili me da dođem u bolnicu", rekao je.

BBC je susreo i mladu majku koja je rekla da je prodala svoj bubreg prije sedam mjeseci - morali su vratiti dug, a ona je za to dobila još manje novca.
"Sada smo prisiljeni prodati svoju dvogodišnju kćer. Ljudi od kojih smo posudili svakodnevno nas maltretiraju, govoreći dajte nam svoju kćer ako nam ne možete vratiti", rekla je.
