Dok se krvava bitka za Bahmut nastavlja, a pozornost usmjerena na to može li Ukrajina zadržati grad, malo južnije na istoku zemlje, odvija se još jedna drama koja bi također mogla imati dalekosežne posljedice za ruske osvajačke planove. Ove je veljače, naime, ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin unaprijedio Rustama Muradova, zapovjednika Istočnog vojnog okruga, u čin general-pukovnika zbog njegovog izvješća o navodnim "uspjesima" 155. brigade marinaca na bojišnici Vuhledara. Sada ruski ministar obrane Sergej Šojgu zahtijeva da general opravda čin koji je dobio i zauzme grad pod svaku cijenu kako bi se smirila velika bura koja se digla na račun Ministarstva obrane zbog epskog fijaska u Vuhledaru.

 Rusi su oko Vuhledara rasporedili najmanje tri brigade, a dvije od njih, 40. i elitna 155. brigada mornaričkog pješaštva, na rubu su borbene učinkovitosti. Zato bi umjesto 155. brigade položaje trebala preuzeti 136. motorizirana brigada. Međutim prema snimci koja kruži društvenim mrežama oni su se pobunili i obratili ruskom vojnom zapovjedništvu. Požalili su se da moraju štedjeti streljivo jer ruske snage šalju većinu artiljerijskih granata snagama koje se bore oko Bahmuta. I dok eto Prigožin svakodnevno kuka zbog nedostatka oružja, vojnici iz 136. jedinice optužuju zapovjedništvo da je svo streljivo poslalo Wagneru.

Vojni analitičar Oleh Ždanov izvijestio je da su dvije "kozačke" ruske jedinice, poznate kao "Stepa" i "Tigar", također odbile sudjelovati u novoj ofenzivi na Vuhledar.

„Izgledno je da 136. motorizirana brigada neće postići taktički napredak u blizini Vuhledara koji nisu uspjeli ostvariti 155. i 40. brigada mornaričkog pješaštva i druge ruske formacije nakon mjeseci priprema za početak ofenziva u tom smjeru - procjenjuje u zadnjoj objavi Institut za proučavanje rata (ISW) objašnjavajući kako bi značajni gubici opreme i očiti nastavak ograničenja municije mogli spriječiti ruske snage da ostvare taktičke dobitke u tom području.

ISW je prethodno procijenio da bi Muradov trebao nove rezerve ljudstva i opreme kako bi proveo Šojguove planove. Još uvijek nije jasno je li Šojgu odlučio pružiti Muradovu potrebne resurse za nastavak ofenziva, ali kako se nalazi u škripcu, Muradov bi se i bez toga mogao odlučiti za nastavak napada kako bi dokazao svoju kompetentnost kao zapovjednik istočnog vojnog sektora. ISW procjenjuje da bi ruske snage morale napredovati više od 24 km od trenutnih linija bojišnice oko Vuhledara kako bi ova ofenziva podržala operacije drugdje u Doneckoj oblasti, što je stopa napretka koju ruske snage nisu postigle od prvih mjeseci potpune invazije na Ukrajinu.

Uvaljani u minska polja 

Kao što je poznato, rudarski gradić Vuhledar, postao je glavna ruska meta zbog svoje nadmorske visine koja omogućava artiljeriji postavljenoj u njegovoj okolici da izravno prijeti cestama koje se spajaju na glavne prometnice u Donbasu. Debakl kakav su Putinove jedinice doživjele pokušavajući zauzeti Vuhledar ući će u povijest najvećih vojnih promašaja. Brojne video snimke pokazuju goleme razmjere uništene opreme - od tenkova, borbenih vozila pa čak do paklenog termobaričnog raketnog bacača Suncopek. Samo jedno raskrižje u mjestu Mikilske, koje se nalazi nekoliko stotina metara udaljeno Vuhledara svjedoči kakva se tu kataklizma dogodila.

Vojnik 3. satnije 155. brigade rekao je za ruski portal 7x7 da su samo sedmorica vojnika preživjeli iz postrojbe koja je brojala više od 500 ljudi, a njih su proglasili dezerterima.

„Bilo bi mi bolje da su me zarobili i da se nikad nisam vratio. Raspoloženje je najgore. Bacili su 500 života, možda i više – ispričao je.

Ogorčeni su bili i ruski vojni blogeri koji se takvom kaosu nisu mogli načuditi. Unatoč silnoj količini uništene opreme i ubijenih vojnika na toj mikro lokaciji ukrajinske bojišnice, svakoga dana ponavljala se ista slika. Ukrajinske snage brižno su pripremile lokacije za zasjede duž prilaza Vuledaru. Rasporedili su kamuflirane tenkove u šumi nedaleko od prilaznih puteva koji nisu bili minirani, dok je sve ostalo bilo pod minama. Protutenkovske ekipe skrivale su se u drvoredima duž polja, naoružane američkim infracrveno navođenim Javelinima i ukrajinskim laserski navođenim projektilima Stugna-P. Malo dalje su bile spremne topničke baterije. Zemljani put nije miniran, ali su sva okolna polja bila puna mina kako bi se namamilo Ruse da napreduju, a potom spriječilo tenkove da se okrenu nakon što otkriju zamku. Ukrajinci su čekali u zasjedi dok neprijateljski tenkovi ne bi ušli u domet, a potom bi počeli napad projektilima. Ruske bi posade počele paničariti i skrenule bi s puta, gdje bi se uvaljali u minsko polje. Ostaci ruskih tenkova, raznesenih minama, pogođenih artiljerijom ili uništenih protutenkovskim projektilima i dalje se nalaze razbacani oko grada.

Dok se krvava bitka za Bahmut nastavlja, a pozornost usmjerena na to može li Ukrajina zadržati grad, malo južnije na istoku zemlje, odvija se još jedna drama koja bi također mogla imati dalekosežne posljedice za ruske osvajačke planove. Ove je veljače, naime, ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin unaprijedio Rustama Muradova, zapovjednika Istočnog vojnog okruga, u čin general-pukovnika zbog njegovog izvješća o navodnim "uspjesima" 155. brigade marinaca na bojišnici Vuhledara. Sada ruski ministar obrane Sergej Šojgu zahtijeva da general opravda čin koji je dobio i zauzme grad pod svaku cijenu kako bi se smirila velika bura koja se digla na račun Ministarstva obrane zbog epskog fijaska u Vuhledaru.

 Rusi su oko Vuhledara rasporedili najmanje tri brigade, a dvije od njih, 40. i elitna 155. brigada mornaričkog pješaštva, na rubu su borbene učinkovitosti. Zato bi umjesto 155. brigade položaje trebala preuzeti 136. motorizirana brigada. Međutim prema snimci koja kruži društvenim mrežama oni su se pobunili i obratili ruskom vojnom zapovjedništvu. Požalili su se da moraju štedjeti streljivo jer ruske snage šalju većinu artiljerijskih granata snagama koje se bore oko Bahmuta. I dok eto Prigožin svakodnevno kuka zbog nedostatka oružja, vojnici iz 136. jedinice optužuju zapovjedništvo da je svo streljivo poslalo Wagneru.

Vojni analitičar Oleh Ždanov izvijestio je da su dvije "kozačke" ruske jedinice, poznate kao "Stepa" i "Tigar", također odbile sudjelovati u novoj ofenzivi na Vuhledar.

„Izgledno je da 136. motorizirana brigada neće postići taktički napredak u blizini Vuhledara koji nisu uspjeli ostvariti 155. i 40. brigada mornaričkog pješaštva i druge ruske formacije nakon mjeseci priprema za početak ofenziva u tom smjeru - procjenjuje u zadnjoj objavi Institut za proučavanje rata (ISW) objašnjavajući kako bi značajni gubici opreme i očiti nastavak ograničenja municije mogli spriječiti ruske snage da ostvare taktičke dobitke u tom području.

ISW je prethodno procijenio da bi Muradov trebao nove rezerve ljudstva i opreme kako bi proveo Šojguove planove. Još uvijek nije jasno je li Šojgu odlučio pružiti Muradovu potrebne resurse za nastavak ofenziva, ali kako se nalazi u škripcu, Muradov bi se i bez toga mogao odlučiti za nastavak napada kako bi dokazao svoju kompetentnost kao zapovjednik istočnog vojnog sektora. ISW procjenjuje da bi ruske snage morale napredovati više od 24 km od trenutnih linija bojišnice oko Vuhledara kako bi ova ofenziva podržala operacije drugdje u Doneckoj oblasti, što je stopa napretka koju ruske snage nisu postigle od prvih mjeseci potpune invazije na Ukrajinu.

Uvaljani u minska polja 

Kao što je poznato, rudarski gradić Vuhledar, postao je glavna ruska meta zbog svoje nadmorske visine koja omogućava artiljeriji postavljenoj u njegovoj okolici da izravno prijeti cestama koje se spajaju na glavne prometnice u Donbasu. Debakl kakav su Putinove jedinice doživjele pokušavajući zauzeti Vuhledar ući će u povijest najvećih vojnih promašaja. Brojne video snimke pokazuju goleme razmjere uništene opreme - od tenkova, borbenih vozila pa čak do paklenog termobaričnog raketnog bacača Suncopek. Samo jedno raskrižje u mjestu Mikilske, koje se nalazi nekoliko stotina metara udaljeno Vuhledara svjedoči kakva se tu kataklizma dogodila.

Vojnik 3. satnije 155. brigade rekao je za ruski portal 7x7 da su samo sedmorica vojnika preživjeli iz postrojbe koja je brojala više od 500 ljudi, a njih su proglasili dezerterima.

„Bilo bi mi bolje da su me zarobili i da se nikad nisam vratio. Raspoloženje je najgore. Bacili su 500 života, možda i više – ispričao je.

Ogorčeni su bili i ruski vojni blogeri koji se takvom kaosu nisu mogli načuditi. Unatoč silnoj količini uništene opreme i ubijenih vojnika na toj mikro lokaciji ukrajinske bojišnice, svakoga dana ponavljala se ista slika. Ukrajinske snage brižno su pripremile lokacije za zasjede duž prilaza Vuledaru. Rasporedili su kamuflirane tenkove u šumi nedaleko od prilaznih puteva koji nisu bili minirani, dok je sve ostalo bilo pod minama. Protutenkovske ekipe skrivale su se u drvoredima duž polja, naoružane američkim infracrveno navođenim Javelinima i ukrajinskim laserski navođenim projektilima Stugna-P. Malo dalje su bile spremne topničke baterije. Zemljani put nije miniran, ali su sva okolna polja bila puna mina kako bi se namamilo Ruse da napreduju, a potom spriječilo tenkove da se okrenu nakon što otkriju zamku. Ukrajinci su čekali u zasjedi dok neprijateljski tenkovi ne bi ušli u domet, a potom bi počeli napad projektilima. Ruske bi posade počele paničariti i skrenule bi s puta, gdje bi se uvaljali u minsko polje. Ostaci ruskih tenkova, raznesenih minama, pogođenih artiljerijom ili uništenih protutenkovskim projektilima i dalje se nalaze razbacani oko grada.
