Samohrana majka osmogodišnje djevojčice, Britanka Rend Platings uspjela je ishoditi vizu za svoju najbolju prijateljicu iz Ukrajine tako što je 12 dana štrajkala glađu.

Platings, koja živi u Cambridgeu namjerava ugostiti prijateljicu Kristinu Kornijuk (34) iz Kijeva, kojoj je u međuvremenu viza odobrena.

Novinarima je rekla da je zahtjev za izdavanjem vize podnesen samo nekoliko minuta nakon što je prošli mjesec uspostavljen program pod nazivom Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.

Štrajk glađu započela je 1. travnja, shvativši da se ništa konkretno ne događa. Kazala je kako smatra da "kašnjenje u izdavanju viza samo pridonosi već i tako strašnoj humanitarnoj krizi".

Rend Platings je izvršna direktorica jedne dobrotvorne organizacije, a štrajk glađu prekinula je u utorak, nakon što je Kornijuk dobila vizu.

Ranije je radila kao izvršna direktorica brojnih tehnoloških tvrtki, kao diplomatkinja u UN-u, konzultantica za tvrtku TRADOC i vojnu akademiju Westpoint na poslovima rješavanja sukoba i na pregovorima te u raznim multinacionalnim tvrtkama kao stručnjakinja za pozicioniranje na tržištu.

Hrabra Britanka je kazala da kani nastaviti s kampanjom čija je svrha brže izdavanje viza Ukrajincima, ali drugim načinima. Istaknula je da na vize čeka sve više ljudi.

"Nevjerojatan je osjećaj što prijateljicu Kristinu Kornijuk mogu ugostiti u Britaniji. Sve je poprilično kasnilo, no sada osjećam golemo olakšanje", rekla je.

Svoj dom u Cambridgeu obojila je bojama ukrajinske zastave u znak potpore prijateljima u toj zemlji. Ispripovijedala je i da je njezina osmogodišnja kći Samantha "vrištala od radosti" saznavši da je viza za Kristinu odobrena.

"Kristina me nazvala nakon što je doznala da joj je odobrena viza. Vjeruje da je proces ubrzan zbog mog štrajka glađu. A sramotno je da sam morala ovo poduzeti kako bi se nešto pokrenulo jer, još uvijek puno ljudi čeka. Za vrijeme štrajka glađu pala sam sa 64 na 54 kilograma. No stalno sam razmišljala - ona je ondje u teškoj situaciji. Njoj je strašno tako dugo čekati na vizu u ratnim okolnostima, pa i ja mogu izdržati dok joj je ne izdaju", rekla je novinarima.

Rend je kazala da će vjerojatno otići u Ukrajinu kako bi pomogla svojoj prijateljici da doputuje u Britaniju jer je Kristina "prilično slomljena".

Kristina Kornijuk trenutačno se nalazi u gradu Jaremče na zapadu Ukrajine. Živjela je u Kijevu, no ima rođake u Donbasu koji žele ondje ostati.

Platings je rekla kako se nada da će joj se Kristina pridružiti u Cambridgeu za sedam do deset dana.

Dodala je da je za njezinu ukrajinsku prijateljicu odluka o odlasku bila "vrlo teška" jer ne zna hoće li ponovno vidjeti svoju obitelj.

Samohrana majka osmogodišnje djevojčice, Britanka Rend Platings uspjela je ishoditi vizu za svoju najbolju prijateljicu iz Ukrajine tako što je 12 dana štrajkala glađu.

Platings, koja živi u Cambridgeu namjerava ugostiti prijateljicu Kristinu Kornijuk (34) iz Kijeva, kojoj je u međuvremenu viza odobrena.

Novinarima je rekla da je zahtjev za izdavanjem vize podnesen samo nekoliko minuta nakon što je prošli mjesec uspostavljen program pod nazivom Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.

Štrajk glađu započela je 1. travnja, shvativši da se ništa konkretno ne događa. Kazala je kako smatra da "kašnjenje u izdavanju viza samo pridonosi već i tako strašnoj humanitarnoj krizi".

Rend Platings je izvršna direktorica jedne dobrotvorne organizacije, a štrajk glađu prekinula je u utorak, nakon što je Kornijuk dobila vizu.

Ranije je radila kao izvršna direktorica brojnih tehnoloških tvrtki, kao diplomatkinja u UN-u, konzultantica za tvrtku TRADOC i vojnu akademiju Westpoint na poslovima rješavanja sukoba i na pregovorima te u raznim multinacionalnim tvrtkama kao stručnjakinja za pozicioniranje na tržištu.

Hrabra Britanka je kazala da kani nastaviti s kampanjom čija je svrha brže izdavanje viza Ukrajincima, ali drugim načinima. Istaknula je da na vize čeka sve više ljudi.

"Nevjerojatan je osjećaj što prijateljicu Kristinu Kornijuk mogu ugostiti u Britaniji. Sve je poprilično kasnilo, no sada osjećam golemo olakšanje", rekla je.

Svoj dom u Cambridgeu obojila je bojama ukrajinske zastave u znak potpore prijateljima u toj zemlji. Ispripovijedala je i da je njezina osmogodišnja kći Samantha "vrištala od radosti" saznavši da je viza za Kristinu odobrena.

"Kristina me nazvala nakon što je doznala da joj je odobrena viza. Vjeruje da je proces ubrzan zbog mog štrajka glađu. A sramotno je da sam morala ovo poduzeti kako bi se nešto pokrenulo jer, još uvijek puno ljudi čeka. Za vrijeme štrajka glađu pala sam sa 64 na 54 kilograma. No stalno sam razmišljala - ona je ondje u teškoj situaciji. Njoj je strašno tako dugo čekati na vizu u ratnim okolnostima, pa i ja mogu izdržati dok joj je ne izdaju", rekla je novinarima.

Rend je kazala da će vjerojatno otići u Ukrajinu kako bi pomogla svojoj prijateljici da doputuje u Britaniju jer je Kristina "prilično slomljena".

Kristina Kornijuk trenutačno se nalazi u gradu Jaremče na zapadu Ukrajine. Živjela je u Kijevu, no ima rođake u Donbasu koji žele ondje ostati.

Platings je rekla kako se nada da će joj se Kristina pridružiti u Cambridgeu za sedam do deset dana.

Dodala je da je za njezinu ukrajinsku prijateljicu odluka o odlasku bila "vrlo teška" jer ne zna hoće li ponovno vidjeti svoju obitelj.

Samohrana majka osmogodišnje djevojčice, Britanka Rend Platings uspjela je ishoditi vizu za svoju najbolju prijateljicu iz Ukrajine tako što je 12 dana štrajkala glađu.

Platings, koja živi u Cambridgeu namjerava ugostiti prijateljicu Kristinu Kornijuk (34) iz Kijeva, kojoj je u međuvremenu viza odobrena.

Novinarima je rekla da je zahtjev za izdavanjem vize podnesen samo nekoliko minuta nakon što je prošli mjesec uspostavljen program pod nazivom Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.

Štrajk glađu započela je 1. travnja, shvativši da se ništa konkretno ne događa. Kazala je kako smatra da "kašnjenje u izdavanju viza samo pridonosi već i tako strašnoj humanitarnoj krizi".
