Šveđani su to odbili, američki infektolog dr. Anthony Fauci kazao je da bi to SAD uskoro mogle odobriti, Kinezi su počeli, a Kubanci su već cijepili gotovo svu djecu stariju od dvije godine protiv COVID-a.

Kako navodi Guardian, Kuba je jedina zemlja koja cijepi malu djecu od dvije godine protiv koronavirusa i do sad je preko 95 posto djece od dvije do 18 godina u potpunosti cijepljeno.  Dok su brojne Kubi susjedne države u Latinskoj Americi kupovale cjepivo proizvedeno u bogatim državama, Kuba se uzdala u svoje stručnjake i proizvela vlastita cjepiva.

Najmanja su zemlja na svijetu koja je to uspjela. Na Kubi nema antivaksera, nema pobuna protiv slobodnog odabira i cijepe se svi odreda, staro i mlado. Uglavnom se cijepe Abdalom i Soberanom, a stručnjaci njihovu učinkovitost nakon tri doze uspoređuju s AstraZenecom. Kubanci se hvale da njihova cjepiva Abdala, Soberana 02 i Soberana Plus pružaju zaštitu veću od 90 posto protiv simptomatskog COVIDA-19 kada se primjenjuju u tri doze.

"Iako covid manje pogađa djecu, oni su važan faktor u prijenosu bolesti na starije i zato ih mi na Kubi cijepimo već nakon dvije godine života, pojasnio je dr. Gerardo Guillén, vodeći razvojni inženjer Abdala. Smatra da je upravo cijepljenjem djece postignut visoki imunitet stada te su stoga stope zaraze znatno niže nego primjerice u SAD-u.

S visokim povjerenjem u socijalistički zdravstvenu sustav i jednopartijskom državom koja sprječava da se antivakserski pokreti ukorijeni, Kubanci nemaju dileme oko toga trebaju li cijepiti svoju djecu.

"Djeca se cijepe čim se rode. Ako su već dobila sva druga cjepiva, zašto ne bi i ovo protiv COVID-a? – rekla je 33-godišnja Ania Ramírez dok je čekala svog potpuno cijepljenog sina, petogodišnjeg Fabija.

Što se tiče cijepljenja djece Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija preporučila je da, ako su već postignute visoke razine procijepljenosti odrasle populacije, zemlje trebaju razmotriti cijepljenje djece od pet godina cjepivom Pfizer/BioNTech. Čile i Ujedinjeni Arapski Emirati sada cijepe trogodišnjake.

Neke se zemlje pak protive takvim preporukama. Švedska zdravstvena agencija prošlog je tjedna odlučila da neće preporučiti cjepiva protiv Covida djeci mlađoj od 11 godina, tvrdeći da za to nema jasnih prednosti.

Dr. Jon K. Andrus, bivši direktor regionalnog programa imunizacije u Panameričkoj zdravstvenoj organizaciji i profesor javnog zdravlja na Sveučilištu George Washington, za Guardian je rekao da, iako kubanski znanstvenici rade kvalitetna cjepiva, kako bi on bio oprezan s cijepljenjem djece, dok se ne dobije više informacija o tome.

"Nijedan od rezultata nije objavljen u recenziranim časopisima, pa je teško o tome i raspravljati", rekao je. Kubanska cjepiva temelje se na platformi koja se desetljećima koristila protiv tetanusa. „To je sjajna tehnologija, ali potrebni su vam detaljni podaci jer može doći do neočekivanih nuspojava – smatra liječnik.  

Kubanski znanstvenici pak tumače kako ispitivanja I i II faze cjepiva Soberana 2 i Soberana Plus na 350 djece u dobi između tri i 18 godina nisu pokazala ozbiljne nuspojave. Podaci o ispitivanju, kažu, poslani su časopisima za recenziranje i čekaju na objavu. Kubanski zdravstveni dužnosnici navode da će u idućim tjednima svi podaci o ispitivanju biti poslani Svjetskoj zdravstvenoj organizaciji jer traže odobrenja za izvoz.

Dr. Peter Hotez, dekan Nacionalne škole za tropsku medicinu na Baylor College of Medicine u Teksasu, rekao je da je cijepljenje male djece važno obzirom na rekordan broj djece koji su u SAD-u hospitalizirani nakon zaraze omikronom. No, naglasio je važnost snažne javnozdravstvene komunikacije.

"Ekosustav cjepiva je krhak", rekao je.

Ukazao je na Filipine, gdje je neuspješno uvođenje novog cjepiva protiv denga groznice 2016. dovelo do raširene percepcije javnosti da je cjepivo štetno. Posljedica toga bio je gubitak povjerenja javnosti u druga dječja cjepiva – što je rezultiralo epidemijom ospica koja je ubila stotine.

Dr. Jerome Kim, glavni ravnatelj Međunarodnog instituta za vakcine, neprofitne organizacije sa sjedištem u Seulu, smatra kako ima smisla cijepiti malu djecu, prvenstveno kako bi zaštitili članove njihovih obitelji.

 “Ako mama i tata rade, često su baka i djed ti koji se brinu o djetetu nakon škole”, podsjetio je.

Šveđani su to odbili, američki infektolog dr. Anthony Fauci kazao je da bi to SAD uskoro mogle odobriti, Kinezi su počeli, a Kubanci su već cijepili gotovo svu djecu stariju od dvije godine protiv COVID-a.

Kako navodi Guardian, Kuba je jedina zemlja koja cijepi malu djecu od dvije godine protiv koronavirusa i do sad je preko 95 posto djece od dvije do 18 godina u potpunosti cijepljeno.  Dok su brojne Kubi susjedne države u Latinskoj Americi kupovale cjepivo proizvedeno u bogatim državama, Kuba se uzdala u svoje stručnjake i proizvela vlastita cjepiva.

Najmanja su zemlja na svijetu koja je to uspjela. Na Kubi nema antivaksera, nema pobuna protiv slobodnog odabira i cijepe se svi odreda, staro i mlado. Uglavnom se cijepe Abdalom i Soberanom, a stručnjaci njihovu učinkovitost nakon tri doze uspoređuju s AstraZenecom. Kubanci se hvale da njihova cjepiva Abdala, Soberana 02 i Soberana Plus pružaju zaštitu veću od 90 posto protiv simptomatskog COVIDA-19 kada se primjenjuju u tri doze.

"Iako covid manje pogađa djecu, oni su važan faktor u prijenosu bolesti na starije i zato ih mi na Kubi cijepimo već nakon dvije godine života, pojasnio je dr. Gerardo Guillén, vodeći razvojni inženjer Abdala. Smatra da je upravo cijepljenjem djece postignut visoki imunitet stada te su stoga stope zaraze znatno niže nego primjerice u SAD-u.

S visokim povjerenjem u socijalistički zdravstvenu sustav i jednopartijskom državom koja sprječava da se antivakserski pokreti ukorijeni, Kubanci nemaju dileme oko toga trebaju li cijepiti svoju djecu.

"Djeca se cijepe čim se rode. Ako su već dobila sva druga cjepiva, zašto ne bi i ovo protiv COVID-a? – rekla je 33-godišnja Ania Ramírez dok je čekala svog potpuno cijepljenog sina, petogodišnjeg Fabija.

Što se tiče cijepljenja djece Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija preporučila je da, ako su već postignute visoke razine procijepljenosti odrasle populacije, zemlje trebaju razmotriti cijepljenje djece od pet godina cjepivom Pfizer/BioNTech. Čile i Ujedinjeni Arapski Emirati sada cijepe trogodišnjake.

Neke se zemlje pak protive takvim preporukama. Švedska zdravstvena agencija prošlog je tjedna odlučila da neće preporučiti cjepiva protiv Covida djeci mlađoj od 11 godina, tvrdeći da za to nema jasnih prednosti.

Dr. Jon K. Andrus, bivši direktor regionalnog programa imunizacije u Panameričkoj zdravstvenoj organizaciji i profesor javnog zdravlja na Sveučilištu George Washington, za Guardian je rekao da, iako kubanski znanstvenici rade kvalitetna cjepiva, kako bi on bio oprezan s cijepljenjem djece, dok se ne dobije više informacija o tome.

"Nijedan od rezultata nije objavljen u recenziranim časopisima, pa je teško o tome i raspravljati", rekao je. Kubanska cjepiva temelje se na platformi koja se desetljećima koristila protiv tetanusa. „To je sjajna tehnologija, ali potrebni su vam detaljni podaci jer može doći do neočekivanih nuspojava – smatra liječnik.  

Kubanski znanstvenici pak tumače kako ispitivanja I i II faze cjepiva Soberana 2 i Soberana Plus na 350 djece u dobi između tri i 18 godina nisu pokazala ozbiljne nuspojave. Podaci o ispitivanju, kažu, poslani su časopisima za recenziranje i čekaju na objavu. Kubanski zdravstveni dužnosnici navode da će u idućim tjednima svi podaci o ispitivanju biti poslani Svjetskoj zdravstvenoj organizaciji jer traže odobrenja za izvoz.

Dr. Peter Hotez, dekan Nacionalne škole za tropsku medicinu na Baylor College of Medicine u Teksasu, rekao je da je cijepljenje male djece važno obzirom na rekordan broj djece koji su u SAD-u hospitalizirani nakon zaraze omikronom. No, naglasio je važnost snažne javnozdravstvene komunikacije.

"Ekosustav cjepiva je krhak", rekao je.

Ukazao je na Filipine, gdje je neuspješno uvođenje novog cjepiva protiv denga groznice 2016. dovelo do raširene percepcije javnosti da je cjepivo štetno. Posljedica toga bio je gubitak povjerenja javnosti u druga dječja cjepiva – što je rezultiralo epidemijom ospica koja je ubila stotine.

Dr. Jerome Kim, glavni ravnatelj Međunarodnog instituta za vakcine, neprofitne organizacije sa sjedištem u Seulu, smatra kako ima smisla cijepiti malu djecu, prvenstveno kako bi zaštitili članove njihovih obitelji.

 “Ako mama i tata rade, često su baka i djed ti koji se brinu o djetetu nakon škole”, podsjetio je.
