Dvoje proizvođača cjepiva protiv covida-19 tvrde da su njihove doze učinkovite i protiv najnovije varijante omikrona, a dobra je također vijest da podaci prikupljeni u Velikoj Britaniji ukazuju da je rizik od hospitalizacije nakon zaraze omikronom čak 40 do 45 posto manji u odnosu na deltu.

Pandemija koronavirusa se ponovo razbuktala većim dijelom svijeta zbog širenja upravo omikrona koji se pokazao vrlo zarazan te je samo u Britaniji u srijedu zabilježeno više od 100.000 novih slučajeva covida-19, prvi put otkako je dostupno široko testiranje.

Prvi puta identificiran na jugu Afrike i Hong Kongu, omikron brzo postaje dominantan u zapadnoj Europi, ali WHO upozorava da je još uvijek prerano donositi zaključke o njegovoj virulentnosti.

Preliminarni podaci su ukazivali da je omikron otporniji na postojeća cjepiva, no broj hospitalizacija i smrti nije dramatičan kao u slučaju delte.

Londonski Imperial College je objavio da "dokaze smanjenja rizika hospitalizacije zbog zaraze omikronom u odnosu na zarazu deltom nalazimo u svim slučajevima u razdoblju obuhvaćenom istraživanjem".

Znanstvenici su proveli studiju koja je analizirala podatke iz slučajeva potvrđenih PCR testom u Engleskoj između 1. i 14. prosinca i prema Imperial Collegeu rizik od hospitalizacije nakon zaraze omikronom je čak 40 do 45 posto manji u odnosu na deltu.

Raghib Ali, viši klinički znanstvenik na Sveučilištu Cambridge, kazao je da su ti podaci ohrabrujući te će "možda vladama pomoći da opravdaju svoju odluku o neuvođenju strožih mjera na društvenim okupljanjima tijekom Božića u Engleskoj".

U borbi protiv pandemija koronavirusa, američka Agencija za hranu i lijekove  (FDA) odobrila je Pfizerovu antivirusnu tabletu protiv covid-19 i ta prva terapija odobrena za kućnu uporabu trebala bi postati važno sredstvo u borbi protiv širenja i omikrona.
Kliničko ispitivanje Pfizerova lijeka pokazao je da je učinkovit 90 posto u sprečavanju hospitalizacija i smrti pacijenata u kojih je visok rizik da razviju ozbiljan oblik bolesti, a podaci nedavnih laboratorijskih ispitivanja upućuju na to da lijek djeluje i protiv omikrona.

Tablete Pfizera, zajedno sa starijim antivirusnim lijekom koji se naziva ritonavir, prodavat će se pod imenom Paxlovid.

U međuvremenu je i AstraZeneca objavila da je primjena triju doza njihovog cjepiva protiv covida-19 učinkovita protiv omikron varijante novog koronavirusa.

Laboratorij Sveučilišta Oxford proveo je istraživanje koje je pokazalo da je razina antitijela protiv omikrona nakon 'booster' doze viša nego razina antitijela kod ljudi koji su se zarazili i prirodno preboljeli covid-19.

Nakon dviju redovitih doza i 'boostera', neutralizirajuće razine protiv omikrona su se pokazale sličnim onima protiv delta varijante nakon primjene dviju doza, dodaje AstraZeneca.

Britansko-švedska tvrtka ističe da znanstvenici Sveučilišta Oxford koji su proveli istraživanje nisu povezani sa stručnjacima koji su s AstraZenecom radili na cjepivu Vaxzevria.

Ranije danas je i Novavax objavio podatke prema kojima njihovo cjepivo koje su već odobrili EMA i WHO, dok je u SAD-u "na čekanju", također stvara imunosni odgovor na omikron.

Delta varijanta, međutim, ne jenjava te je broj smrtnih slučajeva od početka pandemije u Rusiji u četvrtak premašio 600.000. U Rusiji je otkriven tek 41 slučaj omikrona.

Više smrtnih slučajeva imaju samo SAD i Brazil.

Kina je u srijedu uvela karantenu za Xian, grad s 13 milijuna stanovnika zbog naglog širenja covida-19, ali to rasplamsavanje zaraze se ne pripisuje omikronu jer u tom gradu za sada nije otkriven niti jednog slučaja zaraze tom varijantom.

Dvoje proizvođača cjepiva protiv covida-19 tvrde da su njihove doze učinkovite i protiv najnovije varijante omikrona, a dobra je također vijest da podaci prikupljeni u Velikoj Britaniji ukazuju da je rizik od hospitalizacije nakon zaraze omikronom čak 40 do 45 posto manji u odnosu na deltu.

Pandemija koronavirusa se ponovo razbuktala većim dijelom svijeta zbog širenja upravo omikrona koji se pokazao vrlo zarazan te je samo u Britaniji u srijedu zabilježeno više od 100.000 novih slučajeva covida-19, prvi put otkako je dostupno široko testiranje.

Prvi puta identificiran na jugu Afrike i Hong Kongu, omikron brzo postaje dominantan u zapadnoj Europi, ali WHO upozorava da je još uvijek prerano donositi zaključke o njegovoj virulentnosti.

Preliminarni podaci su ukazivali da je omikron otporniji na postojeća cjepiva, no broj hospitalizacija i smrti nije dramatičan kao u slučaju delte.

Londonski Imperial College je objavio da "dokaze smanjenja rizika hospitalizacije zbog zaraze omikronom u odnosu na zarazu deltom nalazimo u svim slučajevima u razdoblju obuhvaćenom istraživanjem".

Znanstvenici su proveli studiju koja je analizirala podatke iz slučajeva potvrđenih PCR testom u Engleskoj između 1. i 14. prosinca i prema Imperial Collegeu rizik od hospitalizacije nakon zaraze omikronom je čak 40 do 45 posto manji u odnosu na deltu.

Raghib Ali, viši klinički znanstvenik na Sveučilištu Cambridge, kazao je da su ti podaci ohrabrujući te će "možda vladama pomoći da opravdaju svoju odluku o neuvođenju strožih mjera na društvenim okupljanjima tijekom Božića u Engleskoj".

U borbi protiv pandemija koronavirusa, američka Agencija za hranu i lijekove  (FDA) odobrila je Pfizerovu antivirusnu tabletu protiv covid-19 i ta prva terapija odobrena za kućnu uporabu trebala bi postati važno sredstvo u borbi protiv širenja i omikrona.
Kliničko ispitivanje Pfizerova lijeka pokazao je da je učinkovit 90 posto u sprečavanju hospitalizacija i smrti pacijenata u kojih je visok rizik da razviju ozbiljan oblik bolesti, a podaci nedavnih laboratorijskih ispitivanja upućuju na to da lijek djeluje i protiv omikrona.

Tablete Pfizera, zajedno sa starijim antivirusnim lijekom koji se naziva ritonavir, prodavat će se pod imenom Paxlovid.

U međuvremenu je i AstraZeneca objavila da je primjena triju doza njihovog cjepiva protiv covida-19 učinkovita protiv omikron varijante novog koronavirusa.

Laboratorij Sveučilišta Oxford proveo je istraživanje koje je pokazalo da je razina antitijela protiv omikrona nakon 'booster' doze viša nego razina antitijela kod ljudi koji su se zarazili i prirodno preboljeli covid-19.

Nakon dviju redovitih doza i 'boostera', neutralizirajuće razine protiv omikrona su se pokazale sličnim onima protiv delta varijante nakon primjene dviju doza, dodaje AstraZeneca.

Britansko-švedska tvrtka ističe da znanstvenici Sveučilišta Oxford koji su proveli istraživanje nisu povezani sa stručnjacima koji su s AstraZenecom radili na cjepivu Vaxzevria.

Ranije danas je i Novavax objavio podatke prema kojima njihovo cjepivo koje su već odobrili EMA i WHO, dok je u SAD-u "na čekanju", također stvara imunosni odgovor na omikron.

Delta varijanta, međutim, ne jenjava te je broj smrtnih slučajeva od početka pandemije u Rusiji u četvrtak premašio 600.000. U Rusiji je otkriven tek 41 slučaj omikrona.

Više smrtnih slučajeva imaju samo SAD i Brazil.

Kina je u srijedu uvela karantenu za Xian, grad s 13 milijuna stanovnika zbog naglog širenja covida-19, ali to rasplamsavanje zaraze se ne pripisuje omikronu jer u tom gradu za sada nije otkriven niti jednog slučaja zaraze tom varijantom.

Dvoje proizvođača cjepiva protiv covida-19 tvrde da su njihove doze učinkovite i protiv najnovije varijante omikrona, a dobra je također vijest da podaci prikupljeni u Velikoj Britaniji ukazuju da je rizik od hospitalizacije nakon zaraze omikronom čak 40 do 45 posto manji u odnosu na deltu.

Pandemija koronavirusa se ponovo razbuktala većim dijelom svijeta zbog širenja upravo omikrona koji se pokazao vrlo zarazan te je samo u Britaniji u srijedu zabilježeno više od 100.000 novih slučajeva covida-19, prvi put otkako je dostupno široko testiranje.

Prvi puta identificiran na jugu Afrike i Hong Kongu, omikron brzo postaje dominantan u zapadnoj Europi, ali WHO upozorava da je još uvijek prerano donositi zaključke o njegovoj virulentnosti.
