Omikron lakše izbjegava imunitet domaćina nego delta varijanta koronavirusa, što objašnjava i zašto se brže širi, prema danskom istraživanju objavljenom prošloga tjedna.

Otkako je omikron otkriven u studenome, znanstvenici žurno nastoje otkriti uzrokuje li lakše simptome bolesti i zašto se čini zaraznijom od delte.

Postoje različiti razlozi zbog kojih bi se virus mogao lakše prenositi. Na primjer, koliko dugo ostaje lebdjeti u zraku, koliko je sposoban prihvatiti se za stanice te koliko dobro izbjegava imunosni sustav domaćina.

Istraživanje pod vodstvom znanstvenika sa Sveučilišta u Kopenhagenu, glavne organizacije za statistiku Statistics Denmark i serološkog instituta Statens Serum Institute (SSI) ukazuje na to da je glavni razlog bržeg širenja ove varijante virusa njegova sposobnost izbjegavanja imuniteta dobivenog putem cjepiva.

“Naša otkrića potvrđuju da brzo širenje omikrona možemo pripisati sposobnosti zaobilaženja imuniteta, a ne inherentnom povećanju prenosivosti” tvrde istraživači.

Danski znanstvenici ranije su zaključili da je među cijepljenom populacijom omikron između 2,7 i 3,7 puta zarazniji od delte.

Istraživanjem je također otkriveno da je, neovisno o kojoj se varijanti virusa radi, manja vjerojatnost da će oni cijepljeni trećom dozom prenijeti virus nego necijepljeni.

Iako je lakše prenosiv, omikron izaziva blaži oblik bolesti, izjavila je za medije Tyra Grove Krause, tehnička direktorica SSI-a.

Dodala da je rizik od hospitalizacije zbog omikrona upola manji nego kad je u pitanju delta, ali su zbog većeg broja zaraženih zdravstveni sustavi i dalje pod pritiskom.

Slični podaci javljaju se i u drugim istraživanjima omikrona.

Omikron lakše izbjegava imunitet domaćina nego delta varijanta koronavirusa, što objašnjava i zašto se brže širi, prema danskom istraživanju objavljenom prošloga tjedna.

Otkako je omikron otkriven u studenome, znanstvenici žurno nastoje otkriti uzrokuje li lakše simptome bolesti i zašto se čini zaraznijom od delte.

Postoje različiti razlozi zbog kojih bi se virus mogao lakše prenositi. Na primjer, koliko dugo ostaje lebdjeti u zraku, koliko je sposoban prihvatiti se za stanice te koliko dobro izbjegava imunosni sustav domaćina.

Istraživanje pod vodstvom znanstvenika sa Sveučilišta u Kopenhagenu, glavne organizacije za statistiku Statistics Denmark i serološkog instituta Statens Serum Institute (SSI) ukazuje na to da je glavni razlog bržeg širenja ove varijante virusa njegova sposobnost izbjegavanja imuniteta dobivenog putem cjepiva.

“Naša otkrića potvrđuju da brzo širenje omikrona možemo pripisati sposobnosti zaobilaženja imuniteta, a ne inherentnom povećanju prenosivosti” tvrde istraživači.

Danski znanstvenici ranije su zaključili da je među cijepljenom populacijom omikron između 2,7 i 3,7 puta zarazniji od delte.

Istraživanjem je također otkriveno da je, neovisno o kojoj se varijanti virusa radi, manja vjerojatnost da će oni cijepljeni trećom dozom prenijeti virus nego necijepljeni.

Iako je lakše prenosiv, omikron izaziva blaži oblik bolesti, izjavila je za medije Tyra Grove Krause, tehnička direktorica SSI-a.

Dodala da je rizik od hospitalizacije zbog omikrona upola manji nego kad je u pitanju delta, ali su zbog većeg broja zaraženih zdravstveni sustavi i dalje pod pritiskom.

Slični podaci javljaju se i u drugim istraživanjima omikrona.
