Američki obavještajni dužnosnici zabrinuti su da bi kineski kranovi u američkim lukama uz ukrcaj i iskrcaj tereta mogli obavljati i jedan "dodatni posao". Hoće li kranovi postati novi Huawei, to će se tek vidjeti, ali vlada zabrinutost da bi ih kineski vlasnici mogli koristiti za špijuniranje, piše britanski Times, a o istoj temi pisao je već Wall Street Journal.

Razlog za sumnju probudio je kran u gradu Baltimoreu, u velikoj američkoj luci za specijalne terete, na kojem je 2021. godine pronađena nespecificirana oprema za prikupljanje podataka. Zbog toga se sumnja da se kineski kranovi mogli iskorištavati za prikupljanje osjetljivih informacija.

Oko 80 posto lučkih kranova u američkim lukama proizvod su ZPMC-a, šangajske kompanije koja se koristi kineskim softverom za svoje proizvode. Operateri su obično Kinezi s dvogodišnjim američkim vizama, piše Times, navodeći da su kranovi te kompanije u Sjedinjenim Državama već 20 godina. Kranovi imaju senzore za praćenje kontejnera po cijelom svijetu, uključujući i one s vojnim teretom.

Bill Evanina, bivši američki obavještajni dužnosnik, za Wall Street Journal ocijenio je da bi "kranovi mogli biti novi Huawei". "Riječ je o savršenoj kombinaciji legitimnog poslovanja koje se može maskirati kao tajno prikupljanje informacija", rekao je Evanina. Huawei, kineski telekom, tvrdi da nije prijetnja nacionalnoj sigurnosti, ali Amerika je gotovo posve zabranila njihove uređaje i mrežu jer sumnjaju da kompanija špijunira po svijetu u službi vlade u Pekingu. Kineski diplomati negiraju optužbe nazivajući ih paranojom čija je svrha obmanuti američku javnost.

Nove optužbe vezano za kranove još su jedan uteg za odnose koji su već dulje vrijeme blizu pucanja. Tajvan, kineska politika oko Južnokineskog mora, ili Jugoistočnog azijskog mora, kako ga drugi zovu, potencijalna pomoć Rusiji u ratu s Ukrajinom i trgovina najveće su točke spora između dvaju najvećih svjetskih gospodarstava. No koplja se, kao i ovaj put, često lome u obavještajnoj areni. Proteklih mjeseci i godina TikTok, društvena mreža popularna među mladima, zabranjena je u više zemalja zaposlenicima u državnoj službi. To su, uz Ameriku, učinile i Kanada i Europska unija te ministarstva niza zemalja.

U Americi je trenutno u pripremi zakon koji podržavaju obje stanke, a kojim bi se predsjednika SAD-a ovlastilo za odgovor na prijetnje koje predstavljaju kompanije poput TikToka. "Trebamo sustavan pristup za stranu tehnologiju koja ulazi na američko tržište da bismo bili sigurni da je možemo zabraniti ako se to pokaže potrebnim", izjavio je Mark Warner, glasnogovornik Odbora za obavještajni rad američkog Senata, za Fox News. "TikTok bi mogao biti obuhvaćen tim zakonom. Ta tvrtka uzima podatke Amerikanaca, a kod njih nisu na sigurnom. Još me više zabrinjava to da bi TikTok mogao postati oružje propagande. One koja širi određenu ideologiju", rekao je Werner.

Prošlog mjeseca između Kine i SAD-a došlo je do malog rata. Američke su službe rušile s neba kineske balone za koje su ustvrdili da su špijunski, iako je Kina ustrajala u tvrdnji da je posrijedi bio balon za prognostičke podatke koji je skrenuo s kursa.

Nema definitivne presude niti kada je riječ o kranovima, najnovijem predmetu spora. No, istraga koju je provela Agencija za obrambene obavještajne podatke (DIA) vezano za kranove zaključila je da kompanija ZPMC posjeduje potencijal za blokiranje prometa luke i prikupljanje obavještajnih podataka o vojnoj opremi koja se prevozi. Mnogima je alarmantna bila izjava Songa Hailinga, direktora ZPMC-a, koji je 2017. izjavio da su "nekoć prodavali opremu, a sada prodaju sustave" te da se u sjedištu u Šangaju mogu nadzirati svi kranovi kompanije.

Američki obavještajni dužnosnici zabrinuti su da bi kineski kranovi u američkim lukama uz ukrcaj i iskrcaj tereta mogli obavljati i jedan "dodatni posao". Hoće li kranovi postati novi Huawei, to će se tek vidjeti, ali vlada zabrinutost da bi ih kineski vlasnici mogli koristiti za špijuniranje, piše britanski Times, a o istoj temi pisao je već Wall Street Journal.

Razlog za sumnju probudio je kran u gradu Baltimoreu, u velikoj američkoj luci za specijalne terete, na kojem je 2021. godine pronađena nespecificirana oprema za prikupljanje podataka. Zbog toga se sumnja da se kineski kranovi mogli iskorištavati za prikupljanje osjetljivih informacija.

Oko 80 posto lučkih kranova u američkim lukama proizvod su ZPMC-a, šangajske kompanije koja se koristi kineskim softverom za svoje proizvode. Operateri su obično Kinezi s dvogodišnjim američkim vizama, piše Times, navodeći da su kranovi te kompanije u Sjedinjenim Državama već 20 godina. Kranovi imaju senzore za praćenje kontejnera po cijelom svijetu, uključujući i one s vojnim teretom.

Bill Evanina, bivši američki obavještajni dužnosnik, za Wall Street Journal ocijenio je da bi "kranovi mogli biti novi Huawei". "Riječ je o savršenoj kombinaciji legitimnog poslovanja koje se može maskirati kao tajno prikupljanje informacija", rekao je Evanina. Huawei, kineski telekom, tvrdi da nije prijetnja nacionalnoj sigurnosti, ali Amerika je gotovo posve zabranila njihove uređaje i mrežu jer sumnjaju da kompanija špijunira po svijetu u službi vlade u Pekingu. Kineski diplomati negiraju optužbe nazivajući ih paranojom čija je svrha obmanuti američku javnost.

Nove optužbe vezano za kranove još su jedan uteg za odnose koji su već dulje vrijeme blizu pucanja. Tajvan, kineska politika oko Južnokineskog mora, ili Jugoistočnog azijskog mora, kako ga drugi zovu, potencijalna pomoć Rusiji u ratu s Ukrajinom i trgovina najveće su točke spora između dvaju najvećih svjetskih gospodarstava. No koplja se, kao i ovaj put, često lome u obavještajnoj areni. Proteklih mjeseci i godina TikTok, društvena mreža popularna među mladima, zabranjena je u više zemalja zaposlenicima u državnoj službi. To su, uz Ameriku, učinile i Kanada i Europska unija te ministarstva niza zemalja.

U Americi je trenutno u pripremi zakon koji podržavaju obje stanke, a kojim bi se predsjednika SAD-a ovlastilo za odgovor na prijetnje koje predstavljaju kompanije poput TikToka. "Trebamo sustavan pristup za stranu tehnologiju koja ulazi na američko tržište da bismo bili sigurni da je možemo zabraniti ako se to pokaže potrebnim", izjavio je Mark Warner, glasnogovornik Odbora za obavještajni rad američkog Senata, za Fox News. "TikTok bi mogao biti obuhvaćen tim zakonom. Ta tvrtka uzima podatke Amerikanaca, a kod njih nisu na sigurnom. Još me više zabrinjava to da bi TikTok mogao postati oružje propagande. One koja širi određenu ideologiju", rekao je Werner.

Prošlog mjeseca između Kine i SAD-a došlo je do malog rata. Američke su službe rušile s neba kineske balone za koje su ustvrdili da su špijunski, iako je Kina ustrajala u tvrdnji da je posrijedi bio balon za prognostičke podatke koji je skrenuo s kursa.

Nema definitivne presude niti kada je riječ o kranovima, najnovijem predmetu spora. No, istraga koju je provela Agencija za obrambene obavještajne podatke (DIA) vezano za kranove zaključila je da kompanija ZPMC posjeduje potencijal za blokiranje prometa luke i prikupljanje obavještajnih podataka o vojnoj opremi koja se prevozi. Mnogima je alarmantna bila izjava Songa Hailinga, direktora ZPMC-a, koji je 2017. izjavio da su "nekoć prodavali opremu, a sada prodaju sustave" te da se u sjedištu u Šangaju mogu nadzirati svi kranovi kompanije.
