Jedan od najvećih paradoksa predsjedničke funkcije u SAD-u danas leži u njezinoj lišenosti gotovo svih digitalnih tehnoloških pomagala koja su dostupna običnome čovjeku.

Kao prvi čovjek najveće svjetske sile, Joe Biden se iz sigurnosnih razloga mora odreći ne samo pametnoga telefona, nego i malo sofisticiranijeg ručnog sata, interneta u službenom automobilu, kućnog bickla za vježbanje, pa čak i uobičajene Wifi mreže u Bijeloj kući. Elektronički uređaji u blizini američkog predsjednika najizloženije su hakerske mete na svijetu.

„Vjerojatnost da ruski ili drugi hakeri nisu usmjereni na svjetske vođe, a u prvom redu na Bijelu kuću, matematički je ravna nuli“ – izjavio je za BBC predavač na Harvardu i stručnjak za cyber sigurnost Bruce Schneier.

Još relativno nedavno to nije bio tako velik sigurnosni problem: u 2000-ima jedini uređaji koji su se mogli hakirati bila su osobna računala i smartphonei. No, već se Barack Obama 2009. godine, kad je preuzeo dužnost, tjednima borio s čelnim ljudima svoje tajne službe kako bi zadržao svoj omiljeni Blackberry, koji je pritom slovio tehnološki puno sigurnijim od Iphonea i drugih pametnih telefona. Uspio ga je zadržati tek za povremenu komunikaciju s rodbinom i prijateljima, u rijetkim trenucima i s unaprijed određenih lokacija. Obamina želja da nabavi iPad, koji je izašao 2010. godine, ostala je neispunjena: dobio je puno kasnije tek posebnu sigurnosno ojačanu verziju, tzv. ObamaPad. Tad je njegova rezidencija dobila i ograničeni bežični internet. Pokrivenost je čak i za potrebe njegove obitelji bila nedovoljna, a ubrzo je i to malo ukinuto kao preopasno.

Donald Trump se proslavio još u prvoj kampanji Twitter komunikacijom, pa je i on u početku mandata inzistirao na korištenju personalnog smartphonea. Sigurnjaci su taj problem u početku nastojali premostiti upotrebom jednokratnih telefona, koje bi zamijenili drugim već nakon par Trumpovih postova. Kasnije su i tome označili kraj, pa su predsjedničke poruke slali s PC-a.

Internet danas predstavlja neprestanu noćnu moru agenata zaduženih za sigurnost i kibernetičke ratove.

“Sve je postalo kompjuter, a kompjuteri su jako ranjivi”, kaže stručnjak za digitalnu sigurnost Schneier. Bilo da je to Pelotonov kućni bicikl ili vaš pametni telefon, klima uređaj, frižider, pećnica, termostat, igračke na daljinsko upravljanje, automobil - sve je s wifi vezom podložno hakiranju.

Ovo predstavlja velik problem za Joea Bidena, kojemu se, baš kao i prethodnicima, jako sviđaju uređaji na koje je navikao. Nosi Apple Watch, a navodno posjeduje i Peloton sobni bicikl koji ima integrirano računalo, kameru, mikrofon, te internetsku vezu. NSA [Agencija za nacionalnu sigurnost] može modificirati pojedini hardver, iščupati kamere i sl., no apsolutnu sigurnost svejedno nije moguće postići.

Najsigurnije je uopće na takvim funkcijama ne koristiti nikakve tehnološke uređaje. Ispada da su golubovi pismonoše, usprkos svim dometima digitalnog doba, najpouzdaniji oblik predsjedničke komunikacije.

Jedan od najvećih paradoksa predsjedničke funkcije u SAD-u danas leži u njezinoj lišenosti gotovo svih digitalnih tehnoloških pomagala koja su dostupna običnome čovjeku.

Kao prvi čovjek najveće svjetske sile, Joe Biden se iz sigurnosnih razloga mora odreći ne samo pametnoga telefona, nego i malo sofisticiranijeg ručnog sata, interneta u službenom automobilu, kućnog bickla za vježbanje, pa čak i uobičajene Wifi mreže u Bijeloj kući. Elektronički uređaji u blizini američkog predsjednika najizloženije su hakerske mete na svijetu.

„Vjerojatnost da ruski ili drugi hakeri nisu usmjereni na svjetske vođe, a u prvom redu na Bijelu kuću, matematički je ravna nuli“ – izjavio je za BBC predavač na Harvardu i stručnjak za cyber sigurnost Bruce Schneier.

Još relativno nedavno to nije bio tako velik sigurnosni problem: u 2000-ima jedini uređaji koji su se mogli hakirati bila su osobna računala i smartphonei. No, već se Barack Obama 2009. godine, kad je preuzeo dužnost, tjednima borio s čelnim ljudima svoje tajne službe kako bi zadržao svoj omiljeni Blackberry, koji je pritom slovio tehnološki puno sigurnijim od Iphonea i drugih pametnih telefona. Uspio ga je zadržati tek za povremenu komunikaciju s rodbinom i prijateljima, u rijetkim trenucima i s unaprijed određenih lokacija. Obamina želja da nabavi iPad, koji je izašao 2010. godine, ostala je neispunjena: dobio je puno kasnije tek posebnu sigurnosno ojačanu verziju, tzv. ObamaPad. Tad je njegova rezidencija dobila i ograničeni bežični internet. Pokrivenost je čak i za potrebe njegove obitelji bila nedovoljna, a ubrzo je i to malo ukinuto kao preopasno.

Donald Trump se proslavio još u prvoj kampanji Twitter komunikacijom, pa je i on u početku mandata inzistirao na korištenju personalnog smartphonea. Sigurnjaci su taj problem u početku nastojali premostiti upotrebom jednokratnih telefona, koje bi zamijenili drugim već nakon par Trumpovih postova. Kasnije su i tome označili kraj, pa su predsjedničke poruke slali s PC-a.

Internet danas predstavlja neprestanu noćnu moru agenata zaduženih za sigurnost i kibernetičke ratove.

“Sve je postalo kompjuter, a kompjuteri su jako ranjivi”, kaže stručnjak za digitalnu sigurnost Schneier. Bilo da je to Pelotonov kućni bicikl ili vaš pametni telefon, klima uređaj, frižider, pećnica, termostat, igračke na daljinsko upravljanje, automobil - sve je s wifi vezom podložno hakiranju.

Ovo predstavlja velik problem za Joea Bidena, kojemu se, baš kao i prethodnicima, jako sviđaju uređaji na koje je navikao. Nosi Apple Watch, a navodno posjeduje i Peloton sobni bicikl koji ima integrirano računalo, kameru, mikrofon, te internetsku vezu. NSA [Agencija za nacionalnu sigurnost] može modificirati pojedini hardver, iščupati kamere i sl., no apsolutnu sigurnost svejedno nije moguće postići.

Najsigurnije je uopće na takvim funkcijama ne koristiti nikakve tehnološke uređaje. Ispada da su golubovi pismonoše, usprkos svim dometima digitalnog doba, najpouzdaniji oblik predsjedničke komunikacije.

Jedan od najvećih paradoksa predsjedničke funkcije u SAD-u danas leži u njezinoj lišenosti gotovo svih digitalnih tehnoloških pomagala koja su dostupna običnome čovjeku.

Kao prvi čovjek najveće svjetske sile, Joe Biden se iz sigurnosnih razloga mora odreći ne samo pametnoga telefona, nego i malo sofisticiranijeg ručnog sata, interneta u službenom automobilu, kućnog bickla za vježbanje, pa čak i uobičajene Wifi mreže u Bijeloj kući. Elektronički uređaji u blizini američkog predsjednika najizloženije su hakerske mete na svijetu.

„Vjerojatnost da ruski ili drugi hakeri nisu usmjereni na svjetske vođe, a u prvom redu na Bijelu kuću, matematički je ravna nuli“ – izjavio je za BBC predavač na Harvardu i stručnjak za cyber sigurnost Bruce Schneier.
