Djelotvornost Pfizerova i Modernina cjepiva protiv infekcije covidom-19 pala je s 91 na 66 posto otkad delta inačica virusa prevladava u Sjedinjenim Državama, pokazuju podatci koje su u utorak objavile američke javnozdravstvene vlasti.
Ovi podatci proizlaze iz istraživanja provedenog na tisućama zaposlenika domova zdravlja i bolnica u šest američkih saveznih država kako bi se djelotvornost cjepiva ispitala u stvarnim uvjetima.
Sudionici su ispitivani svaki tjedan kako bi se otkrile simptomatske i asimptomatske infekcije.
Gotovo svi cijepljeni zdravstveni djelatnici primili su Pfizerovo ili Modernino cjepivo.
Između prosinca 2020. i travnja 2021. djelotvornost cjepiva u sprječavanju infekcije bila je 91 posto, pokazuju podatci koje su objavili Centri za suzbijanje i prevenciju bolesti (CDC), glavna savezna agencija za javno zdravstvo u zemlji.
No u tjednima kada je delta soj prevladao, što znači da je bio odgovoran za više od 50 posto slučajeva, djelotvornost se smanjila na 66 posto.
Autori studije upozoravaju ipak da uzrok tom padu nije samo delta inačica, nego i činjenica da djelotvornost cjepiva slabi s vremenom.
"Premda privremeni podatci govore o umjerenom smanjenju djelotvornosti cjepiva za covid-19 u sprječavanju infekcije, činjenica da se infekcije ipak smanjuju za dvije trećine govori o važnosti i koristi cijepljenja", pišu autori radova.
Podatci objavljeni u utorak ne prave razliku između Modernina i Pfizerova cjepiva.
Na smanjenu djelotvornosti u suzbijanju delta inačice upućuje više studija, premda se točni brojevi u studijama razlikuju.
Drugo istraživanje koje je CDC objavio u utorak a provodilo se na pacijentima u Los Angelesu između početka svibnja i kraja srpnja, pokazuje da su necijepljene osobe imale 29 puta više izgleda za hospitalizaciju od cijepljenih.
Delta se početkom srpnja proširila u SAD-u i trenutačno je odgovorna za više od 98 posto infekcija.

Djelotvornost Pfizerova i Modernina cjepiva protiv infekcije covidom-19 pala je s 91 na 66 posto otkad delta inačica virusa prevladava u Sjedinjenim Državama, pokazuju podatci koje su u utorak objavile američke javnozdravstvene vlasti.
Ovi podatci proizlaze iz istraživanja provedenog na tisućama zaposlenika domova zdravlja i bolnica u šest američkih saveznih država kako bi se djelotvornost cjepiva ispitala u stvarnim uvjetima.
Sudionici su ispitivani svaki tjedan kako bi se otkrile simptomatske i asimptomatske infekcije.
Gotovo svi cijepljeni zdravstveni djelatnici primili su Pfizerovo ili Modernino cjepivo.
Između prosinca 2020. i travnja 2021. djelotvornost cjepiva u sprječavanju infekcije bila je 91 posto, pokazuju podatci koje su objavili Centri za suzbijanje i prevenciju bolesti (CDC), glavna savezna agencija za javno zdravstvo u zemlji.
No u tjednima kada je delta soj prevladao, što znači da je bio odgovoran za više od 50 posto slučajeva, djelotvornost se smanjila na 66 posto.
Autori studije upozoravaju ipak da uzrok tom padu nije samo delta inačica, nego i činjenica da djelotvornost cjepiva slabi s vremenom.
"Premda privremeni podatci govore o umjerenom smanjenju djelotvornosti cjepiva za covid-19 u sprječavanju infekcije, činjenica da se infekcije ipak smanjuju za dvije trećine govori o važnosti i koristi cijepljenja", pišu autori radova.
Podatci objavljeni u utorak ne prave razliku između Modernina i Pfizerova cjepiva.
Na smanjenu djelotvornosti u suzbijanju delta inačice upućuje više studija, premda se točni brojevi u studijama razlikuju.
Drugo istraživanje koje je CDC objavio u utorak a provodilo se na pacijentima u Los Angelesu između početka svibnja i kraja srpnja, pokazuje da su necijepljene osobe imale 29 puta više izgleda za hospitalizaciju od cijepljenih.
Delta se početkom srpnja proširila u SAD-u i trenutačno je odgovorna za više od 98 posto infekcija.
