Dok su oči cijelog svijeta uprte u ukrajinski rat, mnogi strahuju da bi neki neoprezan potez mogao aktivirati potencijalno još razorniju kriznu točku – Tajvan. A sada se na takav potez sprema 82-godišnja predsjednica Zastupničkog doma SAD-a Nancy Pelosi, koja idućeg mjeseca namjerava posjetiti otok koji Kina smatra svojim neotuđivim teritorijem.

Na tu najavu Peking je reagirao vrlo oštro, pa je glasnogovornik kineskog ministarstva vanjskih poslova Zhao Lijian poručio da bi takav posjet „poslao vrlo pogrešan signal separatističkim snagama u Tajvanu”, odnosno da bi „ozbiljno potkopao kineski suverenitet i teritorijalni integritet, te ozbiljno utjecao na temelje kinesko-američkih odnosa”.

- Ako SAD ustraje na krivom putu, Kina će poduzeti odlučne i snažne mjere kako bi zaštitila svoj suverenitet i teritorijalni integritet - rekao je Zhao.

Inače, posjet Pelosijeve Tajvanu trebao se dogoditi još u travnju, ali je predsjednica zastupničkog doma SAD-a tada dobila koronu, što ju je natjeralo da odgodi opasno putovanje. Ovog tjedna, međutim, list Financial Times je objavio da Pelosi planira posjetiti Tajvan u kolovozu, što je i bio povod za ovako oštre reakcije kineskih državnih službenika.

Ukoliko bi Pelosi doista odletjela na Tajvan, bila bi najviše pozicionirana američka zastupnica koja je to učinila u posljednjih 25 godina, još otkad je Tajvan 1997. posjetio tadašnji predsjednik Zastupničkog doma, republikanac Newt Gingrich.

Međutim, prije 25 godina Kina nije bila ni izbliza toliko snažna kao danas. Kako navodi agencija AP, Kina ima „najveću stajaću vojsku na svijetu, sa sve sofisticiranijom mornaricom i ogromnim popisom projektila usmjerenih preko 180 kilometara (100 milja) širokog Tajvanskog tjesnaca”.

„Kineska Narodnooslobodilačka vojska odlučno će spriječiti svaki oblik uplitanja vanjskih sila i separatističkih zavjera o neovisnosti Tajvana”, stoji u ovotjednom priopćenju kineskog Ministarstva obrane.

Govoreći o mogućim kineskim reakcijama na eventualni dolazak Pelosi na Tajvan, analitičari razmatraju nekoliko scenarija. Pozivajući se na anonimnog službenika američke vlade, CNN je objavio da bi u tom slučaju kineska Narodnooslobodilačka vojska (PLA) mogla proglasiti “zonu zabrane leta” (no-fly zone) iznad Tajvana.

Druga opcija je da Narodnooslobodilačka vojska rasporedi ratne avione duboko u identifikacijsku zonu tajvanske protuzračne obrane (ADIZ).

Najgori scenarij bi, dakako, bio da avion s Pelosi ipak odluči ući u zonu gdje je kineska vojska zabranila let. Moguće posljedice u tom bi slučaju bile nesagledive.

Zbog svega toga predsjednik SAD-a Joe Biden pokušao je „spustiti loptu na zemlju”, izjavivši kako američki vojni dužnosnici ne podržavaju ideju da predsjednica Zastupničkog doma posjeti Tajvan.

- Vojska misli da to sada nije dobra ideja - rekao je Biden.

Dok su oči cijelog svijeta uprte u ukrajinski rat, mnogi strahuju da bi neki neoprezan potez mogao aktivirati potencijalno još razorniju kriznu točku – Tajvan. A sada se na takav potez sprema 82-godišnja predsjednica Zastupničkog doma SAD-a Nancy Pelosi, koja idućeg mjeseca namjerava posjetiti otok koji Kina smatra svojim neotuđivim teritorijem.

Na tu najavu Peking je reagirao vrlo oštro, pa je glasnogovornik kineskog ministarstva vanjskih poslova Zhao Lijian poručio da bi takav posjet „poslao vrlo pogrešan signal separatističkim snagama u Tajvanu”, odnosno da bi „ozbiljno potkopao kineski suverenitet i teritorijalni integritet, te ozbiljno utjecao na temelje kinesko-američkih odnosa”.

- Ako SAD ustraje na krivom putu, Kina će poduzeti odlučne i snažne mjere kako bi zaštitila svoj suverenitet i teritorijalni integritet - rekao je Zhao.

Inače, posjet Pelosijeve Tajvanu trebao se dogoditi još u travnju, ali je predsjednica zastupničkog doma SAD-a tada dobila koronu, što ju je natjeralo da odgodi opasno putovanje. Ovog tjedna, međutim, list Financial Times je objavio da Pelosi planira posjetiti Tajvan u kolovozu, što je i bio povod za ovako oštre reakcije kineskih državnih službenika.

Ukoliko bi Pelosi doista odletjela na Tajvan, bila bi najviše pozicionirana američka zastupnica koja je to učinila u posljednjih 25 godina, još otkad je Tajvan 1997. posjetio tadašnji predsjednik Zastupničkog doma, republikanac Newt Gingrich.

Međutim, prije 25 godina Kina nije bila ni izbliza toliko snažna kao danas. Kako navodi agencija AP, Kina ima „najveću stajaću vojsku na svijetu, sa sve sofisticiranijom mornaricom i ogromnim popisom projektila usmjerenih preko 180 kilometara (100 milja) širokog Tajvanskog tjesnaca”.

„Kineska Narodnooslobodilačka vojska odlučno će spriječiti svaki oblik uplitanja vanjskih sila i separatističkih zavjera o neovisnosti Tajvana”, stoji u ovotjednom priopćenju kineskog Ministarstva obrane.

Govoreći o mogućim kineskim reakcijama na eventualni dolazak Pelosi na Tajvan, analitičari razmatraju nekoliko scenarija. Pozivajući se na anonimnog službenika američke vlade, CNN je objavio da bi u tom slučaju kineska Narodnooslobodilačka vojska (PLA) mogla proglasiti “zonu zabrane leta” (no-fly zone) iznad Tajvana.

Druga opcija je da Narodnooslobodilačka vojska rasporedi ratne avione duboko u identifikacijsku zonu tajvanske protuzračne obrane (ADIZ).

Najgori scenarij bi, dakako, bio da avion s Pelosi ipak odluči ući u zonu gdje je kineska vojska zabranila let. Moguće posljedice u tom bi slučaju bile nesagledive.

Zbog svega toga predsjednik SAD-a Joe Biden pokušao je „spustiti loptu na zemlju”, izjavivši kako američki vojni dužnosnici ne podržavaju ideju da predsjednica Zastupničkog doma posjeti Tajvan.

- Vojska misli da to sada nije dobra ideja - rekao je Biden.
