Broj stanovnika u Kini pao je drugu godinu zaredom 2023., budući da su rekordno niska stopa nataliteta i val smrtnosti od COVID-19 nakon prestanka strogih karantena ubrzali pad koji će imati duboke dugoročne posljedice na potencijal rasta gospodarstva.

Nacionalni zavod za statistiku je rekao da je ukupan broj ljudi u Kini pao za 2,08 milijuna, ili 0,15%, na 1,409 milijardi u 2023. godini.

To je znatno veći pad od 850.000 u 2022., prvog od 1961. tijekom Velike gladi u eri Mao Zedonga.

Kina je doživjela dramatičan porast COVID-a diljem zemlje početkom prošle godine nakon tri godine strogog pregleda i karantenskih mjera koje su virus uglavnom držale pod kontrolom sve dok vlasti nisu naglo ukinule ograničenja u prosincu 2022.

Ukupni broj smrtnih slučajeva prošle je godine porastao za 6,6% na 11,1 milijun, pri čemu je stopa smrtnosti dosegla najvišu razinu od 1974. godine.

Broj novorođenih je pali za 5,7% na 9,02 milijuna, a stopa nataliteta bila je rekordno niska i iznosila je 6,39 rođenih na 1000 stanovnika, u odnosu na stopu od 6,77 rođenih 2022. godine.

Rađanje u zemlji padaju već desetljećima kao rezultat politike jednog djeteta koja se provodila od 1980. do 2015. i njezine brze urbanizacije u tom razdoblju.

Daljnji razlozi za smanjenje broja djeca u Kini 2023. godine su nezaposlenost mladih, koja je dosegnula rekordne razine. Dalje, plaće za mnoge službenike su pale, a kriza u sektoru nekretnina, gdje je pohranjeno više od dvije trećine bogatstva kućanstava, pojačana je.

Svježi podaci povećavaju zabrinutost da se izgledi za rast drugog svjetskog gospodarstva smanjuju zbog manje radnika i potrošača, dok sve veći troškovi skrbi za starije osobe i mirovinskih naknada dodatno opterećuju zadužene lokalne vlasti.

Indija je prošle godine nadmašila Kinu kao najmnogoljudnija nacija na svijetu, prema procjenama Ujedinjenih naroda, potaknuvši još više rasprava o prednostima premještanja nekih lanaca opskrbe sa sjedištem u Kini na druga tržišta, posebno dok rastu geopolitičke napetosti između Pekinga i Washingtona.

Dugoročno, stručnjaci UN-a predviđaju smanjenje kineske populacije za 109 milijuna do 2050., što je trostruko više od pada njihove prethodne prognoze za 2019.

Očekuje se da će populacija zemlje u dobi za umirovljenje, u dobi od 60 i više godina, porasti na više od 400 milijuna do 2035. godine – više od cjelokupne populacije Sjedinjenih Država – s oko 280 milijuna ljudi koji trenutno postoje.

Državna Kineska akademija znanosti predviđa da će mirovinski sustav ostati bez novca do 2035.

Predsjednik Xi Jinping rekao je prošle godine da bi žene trebale pričati "priče o dobroj obiteljskoj tradiciji", dodajući da je potrebno "aktivno njegovati novu kulturu braka i rađanja", što je povezao s nacionalnim razvojem.

Lokalne vlasti najavile su razne mjere za poticanje rađanja uključujući porezne olakšice, duži porodiljni dopust i stambene subvencije.

No mnoge politike nisu provedene zbog nedovoljnog financiranja i nedostatka motivacije lokalnih vlasti, rekao je institut za politiku u Pekingu, pozivajući umjesto toga na jedinstvenu nacionalnu shemu obiteljskih subvencija.

Kina bi sljedeće godine mogla osjetiti olakšanje zbog povećanja broja brakova 2023., kada se riješi zaostatak u vezi s COVID-om. Brakovi su vodeći pokazatelj stope nataliteta u Kini, gdje većina neudatih žena nema pristup naknadama za odgoj djece.

Broj stanovnika u Kini pao je drugu godinu zaredom 2023., budući da su rekordno niska stopa nataliteta i val smrtnosti od COVID-19 nakon prestanka strogih karantena ubrzali pad koji će imati duboke dugoročne posljedice na potencijal rasta gospodarstva.

Nacionalni zavod za statistiku je rekao da je ukupan broj ljudi u Kini pao za 2,08 milijuna, ili 0,15%, na 1,409 milijardi u 2023. godini.

To je znatno veći pad od 850.000 u 2022., prvog od 1961. tijekom Velike gladi u eri Mao Zedonga.

Kina je doživjela dramatičan porast COVID-a diljem zemlje početkom prošle godine nakon tri godine strogog pregleda i karantenskih mjera koje su virus uglavnom držale pod kontrolom sve dok vlasti nisu naglo ukinule ograničenja u prosincu 2022.

Ukupni broj smrtnih slučajeva prošle je godine porastao za 6,6% na 11,1 milijun, pri čemu je stopa smrtnosti dosegla najvišu razinu od 1974. godine.

Broj novorođenih je pali za 5,7% na 9,02 milijuna, a stopa nataliteta bila je rekordno niska i iznosila je 6,39 rođenih na 1000 stanovnika, u odnosu na stopu od 6,77 rođenih 2022. godine.

Rađanje u zemlji padaju već desetljećima kao rezultat politike jednog djeteta koja se provodila od 1980. do 2015. i njezine brze urbanizacije u tom razdoblju.

Daljnji razlozi za smanjenje broja djeca u Kini 2023. godine su nezaposlenost mladih, koja je dosegnula rekordne razine. Dalje, plaće za mnoge službenike su pale, a kriza u sektoru nekretnina, gdje je pohranjeno više od dvije trećine bogatstva kućanstava, pojačana je.

Svježi podaci povećavaju zabrinutost da se izgledi za rast drugog svjetskog gospodarstva smanjuju zbog manje radnika i potrošača, dok sve veći troškovi skrbi za starije osobe i mirovinskih naknada dodatno opterećuju zadužene lokalne vlasti.

Indija je prošle godine nadmašila Kinu kao najmnogoljudnija nacija na svijetu, prema procjenama Ujedinjenih naroda, potaknuvši još više rasprava o prednostima premještanja nekih lanaca opskrbe sa sjedištem u Kini na druga tržišta, posebno dok rastu geopolitičke napetosti između Pekinga i Washingtona.

Dugoročno, stručnjaci UN-a predviđaju smanjenje kineske populacije za 109 milijuna do 2050., što je trostruko više od pada njihove prethodne prognoze za 2019.

Očekuje se da će populacija zemlje u dobi za umirovljenje, u dobi od 60 i više godina, porasti na više od 400 milijuna do 2035. godine – više od cjelokupne populacije Sjedinjenih Država – s oko 280 milijuna ljudi koji trenutno postoje.

Državna Kineska akademija znanosti predviđa da će mirovinski sustav ostati bez novca do 2035.

Predsjednik Xi Jinping rekao je prošle godine da bi žene trebale pričati "priče o dobroj obiteljskoj tradiciji", dodajući da je potrebno "aktivno njegovati novu kulturu braka i rađanja", što je povezao s nacionalnim razvojem.

Lokalne vlasti najavile su razne mjere za poticanje rađanja uključujući porezne olakšice, duži porodiljni dopust i stambene subvencije.

No mnoge politike nisu provedene zbog nedovoljnog financiranja i nedostatka motivacije lokalnih vlasti, rekao je institut za politiku u Pekingu, pozivajući umjesto toga na jedinstvenu nacionalnu shemu obiteljskih subvencija.

Kina bi sljedeće godine mogla osjetiti olakšanje zbog povećanja broja brakova 2023., kada se riješi zaostatak u vezi s COVID-om. Brakovi su vodeći pokazatelj stope nataliteta u Kini, gdje većina neudatih žena nema pristup naknadama za odgoj djece.

Broj stanovnika u Kini pao je drugu godinu zaredom 2023., budući da su rekordno niska stopa nataliteta i val smrtnosti od COVID-19 nakon prestanka strogih karantena ubrzali pad koji će imati duboke dugoročne posljedice na potencijal rasta gospodarstva.

Nacionalni zavod za statistiku je rekao da je ukupan broj ljudi u Kini pao za 2,08 milijuna, ili 0,15%, na 1,409 milijardi u 2023. godini.

To je znatno veći pad od 850.000 u 2022., prvog od 1961. tijekom Velike gladi u eri Mao Zedonga.

Kina je doživjela dramatičan porast COVID-a diljem zemlje početkom prošle godine nakon tri godine strogog pregleda i karantenskih mjera koje su virus uglavnom držale pod kontrolom sve dok vlasti nisu naglo ukinule ograničenja u prosincu 2022.

Ukupni broj smrtnih slučajeva prošle je godine porastao za 6,6% na 11,1 milijun, pri čemu je stopa smrtnosti dosegla najvišu razinu od 1974. godine.

Broj novorođenih je pali za 5,7% na 9,02 milijuna, a stopa nataliteta bila je rekordno niska i iznosila je 6,39 rođenih na 1000 stanovnika, u odnosu na stopu od 6,77 rođenih 2022. godine.

Rađanje u zemlji padaju već desetljećima kao rezultat politike jednog djeteta koja se provodila od 1980. do 2015. i njezine brze urbanizacije u tom razdoblju.
