Izraelski znanstvenici objavili su u subotu kako su otkrili da trostruko cjepivo Pfizer/BioNTecha protiv koronavirusa pruža značajnu zaštitu od nove varijante omikrona.

Zaključci studije slični su onima koje su predstavili BioNTech i Pfizer ranije ovog tjedna, a koji su bili prvi znak da bi dodatne doze cjepiva mogle biti ključ za zaštitu od infekcije novoidentificiranom varijantom koronavirusa.

Studija, koju su proveli Medicinski centar Sheba i Središnji virološki laboratorij ministarstva zdravlja, uspoređivala je krv 20 ljudi koji su primili dvije doze cjepiva prije 5-6 mjeseci s istim brojem osoba koje su primile treću dozu prije mjesec dana.

"Ljudi koji su primili drugu dozu prije 5 ili 6 mjeseci nemaju nikakvu sposobnost neutralizacije omikrona. Iako imaju neke protiv delte", rekla je novinarima Gili Regev-Yochay, direktorica odjela za zarazne bolesti u Shebi.

"Dobra vijest je da se uz treću dozu (sposobnost neutralizacije) povećava stotinu puta. Postoji značajna zaštita s trećom dozom. Niža je od sposobnosti neutralizacije varijante delte, otprilike četiri puta niža", rekla je.

Izraelski tim rekao je da su radili sa živim virusom dok su farmaceutske tvrtke koristile ono što je poznato kao pseudovirus koji ima karakteristične mutacije omikrona.

Izraelsko istraživanje slijedi studiju iz Južne Afrike  koja je otkrila da varijanta omikron može djelomično izbjeći zaštitu koju pružaju dvije doze cjepiva.

Izraelski znanstvenici objavili su u subotu kako su otkrili da trostruko cjepivo Pfizer/BioNTecha protiv koronavirusa pruža značajnu zaštitu od nove varijante omikrona.

Zaključci studije slični su onima koje su predstavili BioNTech i Pfizer ranije ovog tjedna, a koji su bili prvi znak da bi dodatne doze cjepiva mogle biti ključ za zaštitu od infekcije novoidentificiranom varijantom koronavirusa.

Studija, koju su proveli Medicinski centar Sheba i Središnji virološki laboratorij ministarstva zdravlja, uspoređivala je krv 20 ljudi koji su primili dvije doze cjepiva prije 5-6 mjeseci s istim brojem osoba koje su primile treću dozu prije mjesec dana.

"Ljudi koji su primili drugu dozu prije 5 ili 6 mjeseci nemaju nikakvu sposobnost neutralizacije omikrona. Iako imaju neke protiv delte", rekla je novinarima Gili Regev-Yochay, direktorica odjela za zarazne bolesti u Shebi.

"Dobra vijest je da se uz treću dozu (sposobnost neutralizacije) povećava stotinu puta. Postoji značajna zaštita s trećom dozom. Niža je od sposobnosti neutralizacije varijante delte, otprilike četiri puta niža", rekla je.

Izraelski tim rekao je da su radili sa živim virusom dok su farmaceutske tvrtke koristile ono što je poznato kao pseudovirus koji ima karakteristične mutacije omikrona.

Izraelsko istraživanje slijedi studiju iz Južne Afrike  koja je otkrila da varijanta omikron može djelomično izbjeći zaštitu koju pružaju dvije doze cjepiva.

Izraelska studija donosi odgovor na pitanje koje muči mnoge: ‘Treća doza Pfizera štiti od omikrona, ali ne kao od delte...‘

Izraelski znanstvenici objavili su u subotu kako su otkrili da trostruko cjepivo Pfizer/BioNTecha protiv koronavirusa pruža značajnu zaštitu od nove varijante omikrona.

Zaključci studije slični su onima koje su predstavili BioNTech i Pfizer ranije ovog tjedna, a koji su bili prvi znak da bi dodatne doze cjepiva mogle biti ključ za zaštitu od infekcije novoidentificiranom varijantom koronavirusa.

Studija, koju su proveli Medicinski centar Sheba i Središnji virološki laboratorij ministarstva zdravlja, uspoređivala je krv 20 ljudi koji su primili dvije doze cjepiva prije 5-6 mjeseci s istim brojem osoba koje su primile treću dozu prije mjesec dana.
