Izraelsko ministarstvo zdravstva u nedjelju je objavilo da ispituje mali broj slučajeva upale srca kod ljudi koji su se cijepili cjepivom Pfizer/BioNTech protiv koronavirusa, no još nije izvuklo nikakve zaključke.
Pfizer je objavio da nije uočio češću pojavu miokarditisa kod cijepljenih osoba u odnosu na opću populaciju.
Izraelski koordinator za odgovor na pandemiju Nachman Ash kazao je da preliminarna studija pokazuje "desetke slučajeva" miokarditisa među više od pet milijuna cijepljenih osoba, uglavnom nakon druge doze.
Ash je kazao kako je nejasno radi li se o neuobičajeno visokom broju i je li povezano s cjepivom.
Većina slučajeva uočena je kod osoba u dobi do 30 godina.
"Ministarstvo zdravstva trenutno ispituje postoji li veća učestalost bolesti i može li se pripisati cjepivu", rekao je Ash.
Ash je kazao kako je slučaj još uvijek pod znakom pitanja i istaknuo da ministarstvo zdravstva tek treba donijeti neke zaključke.
Dokazati vezu bilo bi teško jer miokarditis, stanje koje često prolazi bez komplikacija, može biti izazvano nizom drugih virusa a sličan broj slučajeva bio je prijavljen ranijih godina.
Pfizer je na upit Reutersa odgovorio da je u redovitom kontaktu s izraelskim ministarstvom zdravstva po pitanju podataka o cjepivu.
Tvrtka je "svjesna izraelskih zapažanja o miokarditisu koji su se uglavnom pojavili kod mlađih muškaraca koji su primili Pfizer-BioNTechovo cjepivo protiv covida".
"Nuspojave redovito i temeljito proučavamo i nismo uočili veću učestalost miokarditisa u odnosu na očekivano u općoj populaciji. Uzročna veza s cjepivom nije utvrđena", navela je tvrtka.
"U ovom trenutku nema dokaza da je miokarditis rizik povezan s cjepivom protiv covida Pfizer/BNT-a".
Izrael je cijepio gotovo 60 posto od 9,3 milijuna stanovnika Pfizerom.
U odnosu na siječanj kada je počela kampanja cijepljenja i evidentirano više od 10.000 oboljelih dnevno, taj broj je zadnjih dana pao na nešto više od 100.
Nadav Davidovitch, ravnatelj škole javnog zdravlja na sveučilištu Ben Gurion, kazao je da se, čak i kad bi se utvrdila veza, to ne čini dovoljno teškim razlogom da zaustavi cijepljenje.

Izraelsko ministarstvo zdravstva u nedjelju je objavilo da ispituje mali broj slučajeva upale srca kod ljudi koji su se cijepili cjepivom Pfizer/BioNTech protiv koronavirusa, no još nije izvuklo nikakve zaključke.
Pfizer je objavio da nije uočio češću pojavu miokarditisa kod cijepljenih osoba u odnosu na opću populaciju.
Izraelski koordinator za odgovor na pandemiju Nachman Ash kazao je da preliminarna studija pokazuje "desetke slučajeva" miokarditisa među više od pet milijuna cijepljenih osoba, uglavnom nakon druge doze.
Ash je kazao kako je nejasno radi li se o neuobičajeno visokom broju i je li povezano s cjepivom.
Većina slučajeva uočena je kod osoba u dobi do 30 godina.
"Ministarstvo zdravstva trenutno ispituje postoji li veća učestalost bolesti i može li se pripisati cjepivu", rekao je Ash.
Ash je kazao kako je slučaj još uvijek pod znakom pitanja i istaknuo da ministarstvo zdravstva tek treba donijeti neke zaključke.
Dokazati vezu bilo bi teško jer miokarditis, stanje koje često prolazi bez komplikacija, može biti izazvano nizom drugih virusa a sličan broj slučajeva bio je prijavljen ranijih godina.
Pfizer je na upit Reutersa odgovorio da je u redovitom kontaktu s izraelskim ministarstvom zdravstva po pitanju podataka o cjepivu.
Tvrtka je "svjesna izraelskih zapažanja o miokarditisu koji su se uglavnom pojavili kod mlađih muškaraca koji su primili Pfizer-BioNTechovo cjepivo protiv covida".
"Nuspojave redovito i temeljito proučavamo i nismo uočili veću učestalost miokarditisa u odnosu na očekivano u općoj populaciji. Uzročna veza s cjepivom nije utvrđena", navela je tvrtka.
"U ovom trenutku nema dokaza da je miokarditis rizik povezan s cjepivom protiv covida Pfizer/BNT-a".
Izrael je cijepio gotovo 60 posto od 9,3 milijuna stanovnika Pfizerom.
U odnosu na siječanj kada je počela kampanja cijepljenja i evidentirano više od 10.000 oboljelih dnevno, taj broj je zadnjih dana pao na nešto više od 100.
Nadav Davidovitch, ravnatelj škole javnog zdravlja na sveučilištu Ben Gurion, kazao je da se, čak i kad bi se utvrdila veza, to ne čini dovoljno teškim razlogom da zaustavi cijepljenje.
