The New York Times je prvi na svojoj web stranici objavio da je Spitzer sazvao najbliže suradnike i obavijestio ih da će objaviti svoju povezanost s krugom prostitucije. Na konferenciji za novinare Spitzer je priznao da je prekršio obveze prema obitelji i ispričao se, ali nije objavio ostavku, kako se najavljivalo.
“Postupao sam na način koji krši moje obveze prema obitelji. Razočarao sam, nisam uspio živjeti po mjerilima koje sam očekivao od sebe. Sada moram posvetiti neko vrijeme vraćanju povjerenja moje obitelji”, rekao je Spitzer, uz kojega je za govornicom stajala vidno rezignirana supruga. Spitzer (48), političar koji je karijeru izgradio na kampanji protiv korupcije i organiziranog kriminala, iza sebe ima nešto više od godinu dana guvernerskog staža.
Tjednik Time zbog te ga je kampanje proglasio “križarom godine” dok je bio tužitelj, a tabloidi su ga zvali “Eliot Ness”. Spitzerova povezanost s prostitucijom otkrivena je tijekom FBI-eva prisluškivanja u istrazi kluba, koji je ugovarao susrete bogatih muškaraca s prostitutkama koje su stajale i do 5500 dolara na sat.
Mediji su izvijestila, da je Spitzer, zaveden kao “klijent br. 9”, snimljen kako pokušava dogovoriti usluge ‘dame’ pod imenom Christen. Politički analitičari američkih TV mreža ocijenili su da Spitzer ne može politički preživjeti tu aferu, i već se čuju pozivi da napusti guvernerski položaj.

The New York Times je prvi na svojoj web stranici objavio da je Spitzer sazvao najbliže suradnike i obavijestio ih da će objaviti svoju povezanost s krugom prostitucije. Na konferenciji za novinare Spitzer je priznao da je prekršio obveze prema obitelji i ispričao se, ali nije objavio ostavku, kako se najavljivalo.
“Postupao sam na način koji krši moje obveze prema obitelji. Razočarao sam, nisam uspio živjeti po mjerilima koje sam očekivao od sebe. Sada moram posvetiti neko vrijeme vraćanju povjerenja moje obitelji”, rekao je Spitzer, uz kojega je za govornicom stajala vidno rezignirana supruga. Spitzer (48), političar koji je karijeru izgradio na kampanji protiv korupcije i organiziranog kriminala, iza sebe ima nešto više od godinu dana guvernerskog staža.
Tjednik Time zbog te ga je kampanje proglasio “križarom godine” dok je bio tužitelj, a tabloidi su ga zvali “Eliot Ness”. Spitzerova povezanost s prostitucijom otkrivena je tijekom FBI-eva prisluškivanja u istrazi kluba, koji je ugovarao susrete bogatih muškaraca s prostitutkama koje su stajale i do 5500 dolara na sat.
Mediji su izvijestila, da je Spitzer, zaveden kao “klijent br. 9”, snimljen kako pokušava dogovoriti usluge ‘dame’ pod imenom Christen. Politički analitičari američkih TV mreža ocijenili su da Spitzer ne može politički preživjeti tu aferu, i već se čuju pozivi da napusti guvernerski položaj.
