Dužnosnik Europske agencije za lijekove (EMA) potvrdio je da postoji "veza" između AstraZenecina cjepiva protiv covida-19 i pojave tromboza nakon cijepljenja, u intervjuu za talijanski dnevni list Il Messaggero objavljenom u utorak.
"Sada možemo reći da je jasno da postoji veza s cjepivom. Međutim, još ne znamo što uzrokuje tu reakciju", rekao je Marco Cavaleri, zadužen za strategiju cjepiva pri EMA-i.
"Da rezimiram, za nekoliko sati reći ćemo da postoji veza, ali još moramo utvrditi kako se to događa", dodao je.
EMA će razmatrati to pitanje od 6. do 9. travnja.
"Nastojimo dobiti točnu sliku onoga što se događa, precizno definirati taj sindrom koji nastaje zbog cjepiva (...) Među cijepljenima postoji određen broj slučajeva cerebralnih tromboza kod mladih osoba, viši od onoga što bismo očekivali. To moramo reći", rekao je.
Potvrđeni su deseci takvih slučajeva od kojih su neki imali smrtni ishod. U Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu potvrđeno je 30 slučajeva od kojih sedam sa smrtnim ishodom na 18,1 milijuna cijepljenih do 24. ožujka.
Europska agencija za lijekove zaključila je ranije da "nije dokazana nikakva uzročna veza s cjepivom", čak i ako je "moguća", istaknuvši da su prednosti cijepljenja veće od rizika.
Paul Hunter, stručnjak za medicinsku mikrobiologiju sa Sveučilišta East Anglia, rekao je da "elementi dokaza idu ipak u prilog tome da je cjepivo Oxforda i AstraZeneca doista uzrok".
Više zemalja iz opreza je odlučilo da više neće davati to cjepivo osobama mlađim od određene dobi, poput Francuske, Njemačke i Kanade. Norveška i Danska posve su obustavile njegovo korištenje za sada.
AstraZeneca objavila je u ožujku da ne postoji "nikakav dokaz za povećani rizik", a u subotu je poručila da je "sigurnost pacijenata" njezin "glavni prioritet".

Dužnosnik Europske agencije za lijekove (EMA) potvrdio je da postoji "veza" između AstraZenecina cjepiva protiv covida-19 i pojave tromboza nakon cijepljenja, u intervjuu za talijanski dnevni list Il Messaggero objavljenom u utorak.
"Sada možemo reći da je jasno da postoji veza s cjepivom. Međutim, još ne znamo što uzrokuje tu reakciju", rekao je Marco Cavaleri, zadužen za strategiju cjepiva pri EMA-i.
"Da rezimiram, za nekoliko sati reći ćemo da postoji veza, ali još moramo utvrditi kako se to događa", dodao je.
EMA će razmatrati to pitanje od 6. do 9. travnja.
"Nastojimo dobiti točnu sliku onoga što se događa, precizno definirati taj sindrom koji nastaje zbog cjepiva (...) Među cijepljenima postoji određen broj slučajeva cerebralnih tromboza kod mladih osoba, viši od onoga što bismo očekivali. To moramo reći", rekao je.
Potvrđeni su deseci takvih slučajeva od kojih su neki imali smrtni ishod. U Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu potvrđeno je 30 slučajeva od kojih sedam sa smrtnim ishodom na 18,1 milijuna cijepljenih do 24. ožujka.
Europska agencija za lijekove zaključila je ranije da "nije dokazana nikakva uzročna veza s cjepivom", čak i ako je "moguća", istaknuvši da su prednosti cijepljenja veće od rizika.
Paul Hunter, stručnjak za medicinsku mikrobiologiju sa Sveučilišta East Anglia, rekao je da "elementi dokaza idu ipak u prilog tome da je cjepivo Oxforda i AstraZeneca doista uzrok".
Više zemalja iz opreza je odlučilo da više neće davati to cjepivo osobama mlađim od određene dobi, poput Francuske, Njemačke i Kanade. Norveška i Danska posve su obustavile njegovo korištenje za sada.
AstraZeneca objavila je u ožujku da ne postoji "nikakav dokaz za povećani rizik", a u subotu je poručila da je "sigurnost pacijenata" njezin "glavni prioritet".
