Dječak koji je rođen u 23. tjednu i kojemu su liječnici davali 15 posto šansi da preživi konačno je stasao da bude pušten iz bolnice.
Lucas je imao samo 539 grama kad je došao na svijet 16. listopada u bolnici u Liverpoolu.
Proveo je skoro pet meseci na bolničkome liječenju jer se borio s komplikacijama poput sepse i kolapsa pluća.
Njegova majka Sara Chilton opisuje ga kao "malo čudo" i zahvaljuje liječnicima što su mu "spasili život".
"Ne mogu opisati kako sam se osjećala", kaže 30-godišnja mama o trenutku kada je prvi put iskoračila iz bolnice s dječakom u rukama, piše BBC.
"Bilo je predivno, nevjerojatno".
Lucas je Sari prvo dijete.
I kako kaže, trudnoća joj je bila sasvim normalna sve do prvog dana nakon što je ušla u 23. tjedan.

Savjetovali su je da ode u bolnicu provjeriti sve i liječnici su joj rekli da se otvorila dva centimetra, iako nije osjećala ni bolove ni kontrakcije.
"Malo je vjerojatno da se sve dobro završi kad se dijete rodi u 23. tjednu", rekla je sestra Sari.
"Na početku su rekli da ima 15 posto šanse preživjeti".
"Ne sjećam se mnogo detalja od tada, pamtim samo da su me preplavile emocije".
'samo se pripremite za najgore'
Lucas je rođen četvrtog dana 23. tjedna i bio je "malo veći od kemijske olovke".
"Sjećam se kad je jedan od liječnika rekao 'diše, diše' i da su ga okrenuli", nastavlja.
"Bio je vrlo loše na početku i sjećam se da su liječnici govorili 'samo se pripremite'".
Lucas je proveo 142 dana u bolnici tijekom kojih je imao šest različitih infekcija, dva kolapsa pluća, i primio nekoliko transfuzija krvi.
Ali u nedjelju, Sara je uspjela dovesti kući sina, koji sada ima 3,7 kilograma.

"Cijeli odjel neonatologije bio je zaista nevjerojatan. Od prvog dana sam dobivala podršku sestara, to je bilo fantastično", kaže Chilton.
"Spasili su život mog dječaka, nemam riječi da im zahvalim".
Poželjela je podijeliti tu priču u nadi da će značiti roditeljima koji možda prolaze kroz sličnu situaciju.
Njima poručuje da se ne prestaju nadati.

Dječak koji je rođen u 23. tjednu i kojemu su liječnici davali 15 posto šansi da preživi konačno je stasao da bude pušten iz bolnice.
Lucas je imao samo 539 grama kad je došao na svijet 16. listopada u bolnici u Liverpoolu.
Proveo je skoro pet meseci na bolničkome liječenju jer se borio s komplikacijama poput sepse i kolapsa pluća.
Njegova majka Sara Chilton opisuje ga kao "malo čudo" i zahvaljuje liječnicima što su mu "spasili život".
"Ne mogu opisati kako sam se osjećala", kaže 30-godišnja mama o trenutku kada je prvi put iskoračila iz bolnice s dječakom u rukama, piše BBC.
"Bilo je predivno, nevjerojatno".
Lucas je Sari prvo dijete.
I kako kaže, trudnoća joj je bila sasvim normalna sve do prvog dana nakon što je ušla u 23. tjedan.

Savjetovali su je da ode u bolnicu provjeriti sve i liječnici su joj rekli da se otvorila dva centimetra, iako nije osjećala ni bolove ni kontrakcije.
"Malo je vjerojatno da se sve dobro završi kad se dijete rodi u 23. tjednu", rekla je sestra Sari.
"Na početku su rekli da ima 15 posto šanse preživjeti".
"Ne sjećam se mnogo detalja od tada, pamtim samo da su me preplavile emocije".
'samo se pripremite za najgore'
Lucas je rođen četvrtog dana 23. tjedna i bio je "malo veći od kemijske olovke".
"Sjećam se kad je jedan od liječnika rekao 'diše, diše' i da su ga okrenuli", nastavlja.
"Bio je vrlo loše na početku i sjećam se da su liječnici govorili 'samo se pripremite'".
Lucas je proveo 142 dana u bolnici tijekom kojih je imao šest različitih infekcija, dva kolapsa pluća, i primio nekoliko transfuzija krvi.
Ali u nedjelju, Sara je uspjela dovesti kući sina, koji sada ima 3,7 kilograma.

"Cijeli odjel neonatologije bio je zaista nevjerojatan. Od prvog dana sam dobivala podršku sestara, to je bilo fantastično", kaže Chilton.
"Spasili su život mog dječaka, nemam riječi da im zahvalim".
Poželjela je podijeliti tu priču u nadi da će značiti roditeljima koji možda prolaze kroz sličnu situaciju.
Njima poručuje da se ne prestaju nadati.
"Nada je jedino što sam imala od početka i uspjelo je", kaže Lucasova mama, piše BBC.
