No, brojni analitičari najavljuju kako je istražiteljska 'beatifikacija' bivšega Trumpova potpredsjednika u njegovoj odsutnosti gotovo siguran uvod u Penceovu predsjedničku kandidaturu u Republikanskoj stranci uoči izbora 2024. Prije toga će, sasvim sigurno, morati do kraja odbaciti stigmu izdajnika koju mu lijepe Trump i njemu bliski konzervativni krugovi.

Penceovo odbijanje da igra u tom cirkusu označilo je konačni kraj duge i plodnosne interesne veze slavnog dvojca. Trump je cvilio svom potpredsjedniku: "Ne želim vam više biti prijatelj ako to ne učinite”(ne poništite izborni rezultat). Rulja koja je potom u Trumpovo ime jurišala na Kongres znakovito je uzvikivala “Mike Pence je izdao Sjedinjene Američke Države, objesimo ga!” Računalna grafika pokazala je da je u tom trenutku Pence bio udaljen od pobunjenika samo 10-ak metara, jer je evakuiran iz Zastupničkog doma kad su ovi bili već u hodniku.

Parlamentarni Odbor je registrirao da se povjerljivi doušnik ispovjedio FBI-ju kako bi krajnje desničarska skupina Proud Boys sigurno ubila Pencea da su imali priliku. Usprkos tome, sve do zadnjeg trenutka ovaj svetac i mučenik nije želio napustiti Kongres tvrdeći da „svijet ne smije vidjeti kako potpredsjednik bježi s Kapitola". Neki su čak pred istražnim odborom tvrdili da je Pence 'hrabro sam samcat stajao između Amerike i katastrofe'. Čini se da mu je u ime toga dana sve ono što je njemu prethodilo brzo i lako zaboravljeno: godine vjernoga i bespogovornoga služenja Trumpu kao desna ruka, bez ijedne naznake neslaganja.

Analitičarka CNN-a, bivša specijalna agentica FBI-a Asha Rangappa je među rijetkima koji su se odmah usudili javno zaključiti da Pence nije nikakav heroj, nego sinja kukavica. Penceovo odbijanje da igra u tom cirkusu označilo je konačni kraj duge i plodnosne interesne veze slavnog dvojca. Parlamentarni Odbor je registrirao da se povjerljivi doušnik ispovjedio FBI-ju kako bi krajnje desničarska skupina Proud Boys sigurno ubila Pencea da su imali priliku. Usprkos tome, sve do zadnjeg trenutka ovaj svetac i mučenik nije želio napustiti Kongres tvrdeći da „svijet ne smije vidjeti kako potpredsjednik bježi s Kapitola". Neki su čak pred istražnim odborom tvrdili da je Pence 'hrabro sam samcat stajao između Amerike i katastrofe'.
