Omikron u usporedbi s delta sojem koronavirusa donosi manji rizik od hospitalizacije, no njegova veća zaraznost i dalje bi mogla dovesti do većeg broja onih koji trebaju liječničku pomoć, objavila je britanska vlada. 

Analiza preliminarnih podataka britanske agencije za zdravstvenu sigurnost UKHSA pokazala je da osobe s omikronom imaju između 31 i 45 posto manju šansu potražiti pomoć u bolnici u usporedbi s onima zaraženima delta sojem, te između 50 i 70 posto manju šansu za hospitalizaciju.  

Izvršna direktorica UKHSA-e Jenny Harries u četvrtak je rekla kako je „ohrabrujuć rani signal da zaraženi omikronom pod relativno manjim rizikom od hospitalizacija u odnosu na one koji su zaraženi drugim varijantama“. 

Naglasila je kako su to „rani podaci i kako je potrebno još istraživanja kako bi se potvrdili ti zaključci“. 

Ove tvrdnje o opasnosti omikron varijante, prvi put otkrivene u Južnoafričkoj Republici (JAR) i Hong Kongu, u skladu su sa zaključcima ohrabrujućih istraživanja  londonskog Imperial Collegea i sveučilišta u Edinburghu ovoga tjedna. I dalje se treba istražiti utjecaj omikrona na stariju populaciju, prenosi Reuters.  

Iako su u samom JAR-u brojevi novozaraženih bili na razinama iz trećeg vala zaraze, kad je dominirala delta, u četvrtom valu broj umrlih nije se ni približio tom periodu, pokazuju službeni podaci. Mediji pišu i kako u afričkoj državi širenje omikrona već jenjava. 

U Velikoj Britaniji, gdje su znanstveni savjetnici vlade tijekom vikenda zaključili da je „gotovo sigurno“ da se svakog dana stotine tisuća ljudi zarazi omikronom, broj umrlih također zasad ne prati rast broja novozaraženih. U četvrtak je bilo 119,789 novih zaraza i 147 smrtnih slučajeva. 

Za zdravstvene vlasti i virologe kod omikrona preostaju još tri nepoznanice – njegova zaraznost, težina bolesti koju izaziva te izbjegava li imunosni odgovor postignut cijepljenjem. Ne čekajući te odgovore dijelovi svijeta u isto vrijeme vraćaju stroge restriktivne mjere.

Omikron u usporedbi s delta sojem koronavirusa donosi manji rizik od hospitalizacije, no njegova veća zaraznost i dalje bi mogla dovesti do većeg broja onih koji trebaju liječničku pomoć, objavila je britanska vlada. 

Analiza preliminarnih podataka britanske agencije za zdravstvenu sigurnost UKHSA pokazala je da osobe s omikronom imaju između 31 i 45 posto manju šansu potražiti pomoć u bolnici u usporedbi s onima zaraženima delta sojem, te između 50 i 70 posto manju šansu za hospitalizaciju.  

Izvršna direktorica UKHSA-e Jenny Harries u četvrtak je rekla kako je „ohrabrujuć rani signal da zaraženi omikronom pod relativno manjim rizikom od hospitalizacija u odnosu na one koji su zaraženi drugim varijantama“. 

Naglasila je kako su to „rani podaci i kako je potrebno još istraživanja kako bi se potvrdili ti zaključci“. 

Ove tvrdnje o opasnosti omikron varijante, prvi put otkrivene u Južnoafričkoj Republici (JAR) i Hong Kongu, u skladu su sa zaključcima ohrabrujućih istraživanja  londonskog Imperial Collegea i sveučilišta u Edinburghu ovoga tjedna. I dalje se treba istražiti utjecaj omikrona na stariju populaciju, prenosi Reuters.  

Iako su u samom JAR-u brojevi novozaraženih bili na razinama iz trećeg vala zaraze, kad je dominirala delta, u četvrtom valu broj umrlih nije se ni približio tom periodu, pokazuju službeni podaci. Mediji pišu i kako u afričkoj državi širenje omikrona već jenjava. 

U Velikoj Britaniji, gdje su znanstveni savjetnici vlade tijekom vikenda zaključili da je „gotovo sigurno“ da se svakog dana stotine tisuća ljudi zarazi omikronom, broj umrlih također zasad ne prati rast broja novozaraženih. U četvrtak je bilo 119,789 novih zaraza i 147 smrtnih slučajeva. 

Za zdravstvene vlasti i virologe kod omikrona preostaju još tri nepoznanice – njegova zaraznost, težina bolesti koju izaziva te izbjegava li imunosni odgovor postignut cijepljenjem. Ne čekajući te odgovore dijelovi svijeta u isto vrijeme vraćaju stroge restriktivne mjere.

Britanska zdravstvena agencija ima dobre vijesti: iako je nova varijanta zaraznija, šanse za hospitalizaciju drastično padaju

Omikron u usporedbi s delta sojem koronavirusa donosi manji rizik od hospitalizacije, no njegova veća zaraznost i dalje bi mogla dovesti do većeg broja onih koji trebaju liječničku pomoć, objavila je britanska vlada. 

Analiza preliminarnih podataka britanske agencije za zdravstvenu sigurnost UKHSA pokazala je da osobe s omikronom imaju između 31 i 45 posto manju šansu potražiti pomoć u bolnici u usporedbi s onima zaraženima delta sojem, te između 50 i 70 posto manju šansu za hospitalizaciju.  

Izvršna direktorica UKHSA-e Jenny Harries u četvrtak je rekla kako je „ohrabrujuć rani signal da zaraženi omikronom pod relativno manjim rizikom od hospitalizacija u odnosu na one koji su zaraženi drugim varijantama“.
