Bijela kuća je još početkom prošlog tjedna željela na ulice Washingtona i ostalih američkih gradova rasporediti oko 10.000 aktivnih vojnika da bi prekinula prosvjede, ali je taj zahtjev odbačen, izvijestio je CBS.

Ministar obrane Mark Esper i načelnik Združenog stožera, general Mark Milley nisu udovoljili zahtjevu Bijele kuće, rekao je visoki dužnosnik CBS-u u subotu.

Kako navodi CNN, Esper je navodno premjestio oko 1600 aktivnih vojnika u Washington, no ondje je već bilo raspoređeno oko 5000 pripadnika Nacionalne garde pa se vojska, s obzirom na to da nije bilo potrebe za njezinim dodatnim angažiranjem, postupno počela povlačiti u četvrtak navečer.

Bijela kuća nije komentirala to izvješće.

Milley je, kako navode obaviješteni izvori, imao jak osjećaj da još nije prijeđen prag, opisan kao 'teža okolnost', koji bi predsjedniku legalno omogućio da u pomoć pozove vojsku.

Nakon nasilja koje je izbilo u Washingtonu, Milley je u više navrata kontaktirao s demokratskim predstavnicima Kongresa, kao i s Nancy Pelosi.

I premda pojedinosti njihova razgovora s demokratama nisu poznate, Milley je u ponedjeljak navečer vodio napet razgovor s predsjednikom Trumpom, uvjeravajući ga da, unatoč predsjednikovim prijetnjama, sudjelovanje aktivnih vojnih snaga u smirivanju nereda u Washingtonu nije neophodno potrebno.

No, premda je Bijela kuća potvrdila da podupire Espera, ova bi ga odluka mogla stajati položaja.  Kongres je neslužbeno kritizirao obojicu zbog šetnje s predsjednikom do crkve Svetog Ivana, a po izvoru bliskom vojsci, Esper i Milley jako žale što su si dopustili takav potez.

Esper je i ranije govorio kako se nastoji držati podalje od politike, no da mu to uvijek ne uspijeva, dok Milley još nije objasnio zajedničku šetnju s predsjednikom.

Bijela kuća je još početkom prošlog tjedna željela na ulice Washingtona i ostalih američkih gradova rasporediti oko 10.000 aktivnih vojnika da bi prekinula prosvjede, ali je taj zahtjev odbačen, izvijestio je CBS.

Ministar obrane Mark Esper i načelnik Združenog stožera, general Mark Milley nisu udovoljili zahtjevu Bijele kuće, rekao je visoki dužnosnik CBS-u u subotu.

Kako navodi CNN, Esper je navodno premjestio oko 1600 aktivnih vojnika u Washington, no ondje je već bilo raspoređeno oko 5000 pripadnika Nacionalne garde pa se vojska, s obzirom na to da nije bilo potrebe za njezinim dodatnim angažiranjem, postupno počela povlačiti u četvrtak navečer.

Bijela kuća nije komentirala to izvješće.

Milley je, kako navode obaviješteni izvori, imao jak osjećaj da još nije prijeđen prag, opisan kao 'teža okolnost', koji bi predsjedniku legalno omogućio da u pomoć pozove vojsku.

Nakon nasilja koje je izbilo u Washingtonu, Milley je u više navrata kontaktirao s demokratskim predstavnicima Kongresa, kao i s Nancy Pelosi.

I premda pojedinosti njihova razgovora s demokratama nisu poznate, Milley je u ponedjeljak navečer vodio napet razgovor s predsjednikom Trumpom, uvjeravajući ga da, unatoč predsjednikovim prijetnjama, sudjelovanje aktivnih vojnih snaga u smirivanju nereda u Washingtonu nije neophodno potrebno.

No, premda je Bijela kuća potvrdila da podupire Espera, ova bi ga odluka mogla stajati položaja.  Kongres je neslužbeno kritizirao obojicu zbog šetnje s predsjednikom do crkve Svetog Ivana, a po izvoru bliskom vojsci, Esper i Milley jako žale što su si dopustili takav potez.

Esper je i ranije govorio kako se nastoji držati podalje od politike, no da mu to uvijek ne uspijeva, dok Milley još nije objasnio zajedničku šetnju s predsjednikom.

Bijela kuća početkom prošlog tjedna tražila 10.000 aktivnih vojnika za gušenje prosvjeda u američkim gradovima

Bijela kuća je još početkom prošlog tjedna željela na ulice Washingtona i ostalih američkih gradova rasporediti oko 10.000 aktivnih vojnika da bi prekinula prosvjede, ali je taj zahtjev odbačen, izvijestio je CBS.

Ministar obrane Mark Esper i načelnik Združenog stožera, general Mark Milley nisu udovoljili zahtjevu Bijele kuće, rekao je visoki dužnosnik CBS-u u subotu.

Kako navodi CNN, Esper je navodno premjestio oko 1600 aktivnih vojnika u Washington, no ondje je već bilo raspoređeno oko 5000 pripadnika Nacionalne garde pa se vojska, s obzirom na to da nije bilo potrebe za njezinim dodatnim angažiranjem, postupno počela povlačiti u četvrtak navečer.

Bijela kuća nije komentirala to izvješće.
