Treslo je stvarno jako. Rušilo je zidove i lomilo krovove. Ulice su osvanule zatrpane ruševinama, a mnogi Zagrepčani noć će provesti izvan svojih domova.

Šteta je velika i zbrajat će se danima. Apokaliptične slike obišle su svijet.

Ipak, na koncu dana, možda i nismo tako loše prošli. Kako je, zapravo, moglo biti.

Dražen Aničić, najveći hrvatski stručnjak za protupotresnu gradnju, svojedobno je izradio studiju potresnog rizika za Zagreb. I izradio različite scenarije potresa, u ovisnosti o njihovom intenzitetu.

Potres koji je pogodio Zagreb bio je magnitude 5,5 po Richteru, a VII. stupnja MCS (Mercalli-Cancani-Siebergove) ljestvica po intenzitetu.

Za tako jaki potres procjena je bila da bi na 5 tisuća ljudi poginuo jedan čovjek. Preračunato na stanovništvo Zagreba, moglo je umrijeti oko 160 ljudi. A uništeno bi bilo 6 posto stambene površine.

Stvarne razmjere materijalne štete još uvijek ne znamo. Ono što znamo jest da za sada nema ljudskih žrtava i da 15-ogodišnja djevojka je u kritičnom stanju.

Puno je stvari kumovalo tome da nema mrtvih. U prvom redu činjenica da se potres dogodio u nedjelju rano ujutro, kada na ulicama doista nije bilo nikoga. To je naprosto bila sreća u nesreći. Da se potres zbio u subotu oko podne, kada špica vrvi ljudima, gromade koje su padale sa krovova uzele bi svoj krvavi danak.

Paradoksalno, ali izostanku većeg broja žrtava pripomogla je i korona. U namjeri da spriječe rapidno širenje epidemije, dan ranije vlasti su uspjele Hrvate utjerati u njihove domove. Klubovi i barovi u subotu nisu radili, pa nije bilo ni onih koji bi se u nedjelju ujutro vraćali sa vikend provoda kućama.

No, ima i gorih scenarija od potresa VII. stupnja.

Da je, primjerice, Zagreb pogodio potres VIII. Stupnja, život je moglo izgubiti 500 ljudi. A 12 posto stambene površine bilo bi uništeno.

Da se pak dogodio potres IX. Stupnja, sa magnitudom od 6,5 prema Richteru, rezultat bi bio katastrofalan. Procjena je da bi poginulo 2600 ljudi. I da bi petina stambene površine u Zagrebu bila uništena. To je ujedno i najjači potres koji, prema izračunima stručnjaka, može pogoditi Zagreb.

Srećom, takvi se potresi događaju iznimno rijetko, u prosjeku svakih dvjestotinjak godina.

Ovaj put smo ga, po svemu sudeći, izbjegli.

Treslo je stvarno jako. Rušilo je zidove i lomilo krovove. Ulice su osvanule zatrpane ruševinama, a mnogi Zagrepčani noć će provesti izvan svojih domova.

Šteta je velika i zbrajat će se danima. Apokaliptične slike obišle su svijet.

Ipak, na koncu dana, možda i nismo tako loše prošli. Kako je, zapravo, moglo biti.

Dražen Aničić, najveći hrvatski stručnjak za protupotresnu gradnju, svojedobno je izradio studiju potresnog rizika za Zagreb. I izradio različite scenarije potresa, u ovisnosti o njihovom intenzitetu.

Potres koji je pogodio Zagreb bio je magnitude 5,5 po Richteru, a VII. stupnja MCS (Mercalli-Cancani-Siebergove) ljestvica po intenzitetu.

Za tako jaki potres procjena je bila da bi na 5 tisuća ljudi poginuo jedan čovjek. Preračunato na stanovništvo Zagreba, moglo je umrijeti oko 160 ljudi. A uništeno bi bilo 6 posto stambene površine.

Stvarne razmjere materijalne štete još uvijek ne znamo. Ono što znamo jest da za sada nema ljudskih žrtava i da 15-ogodišnja djevojka je u kritičnom stanju.

Puno je stvari kumovalo tome da nema mrtvih. U prvom redu činjenica da se potres dogodio u nedjelju rano ujutro, kada na ulicama doista nije bilo nikoga. To je naprosto bila sreća u nesreći. Da se potres zbio u subotu oko podne, kada špica vrvi ljudima, gromade koje su padale sa krovova uzele bi svoj krvavi danak.

Paradoksalno, ali izostanku većeg broja žrtava pripomogla je i korona. U namjeri da spriječe rapidno širenje epidemije, dan ranije vlasti su uspjele Hrvate utjerati u njihove domove. Klubovi i barovi u subotu nisu radili, pa nije bilo ni onih koji bi se u nedjelju ujutro vraćali sa vikend provoda kućama.

No, ima i gorih scenarija od potresa VII. stupnja.

Da je, primjerice, Zagreb pogodio potres VIII. Stupnja, život je moglo izgubiti 500 ljudi. A 12 posto stambene površine bilo bi uništeno.

Da se pak dogodio potres IX. Stupnja, sa magnitudom od 6,5 prema Richteru, rezultat bi bio katastrofalan. Procjena je da bi poginulo 2600 ljudi. I da bi petina stambene površine u Zagrebu bila uništena. To je ujedno i najjači potres koji, prema izračunima stručnjaka, može pogoditi Zagreb.

Srećom, takvi se potresi događaju iznimno rijetko, u prosjeku svakih dvjestotinjak godina.

Ovaj put smo ga, po svemu sudeći, izbjegli.

Treslo je stvarno jako. Rušilo je zidove i lomilo krovove. Ulice su osvanule zatrpane ruševinama, a mnogi Zagrepčani noć će provesti izvan svojih domova.

Šteta je velika i zbrajat će se danima. Apokaliptične slike obišle su svijet.

Ipak, na koncu dana, možda i nismo tako loše prošli. Kako je, zapravo, moglo biti.

Dražen Aničić, najveći hrvatski stručnjak za protupotresnu gradnju, svojedobno je izradio studiju potresnog rizika za Zagreb. I izradio različite scenarije potresa, u ovisnosti o njihovom intenzitetu.

Potres koji je pogodio Zagreb bio je magnitude 5,5 po Richteru, a VII. stupnja MCS (Mercalli-Cancani-Siebergove) ljestvica po intenzitetu.

Za tako jaki potres procjena je bila da bi na 5 tisuća ljudi poginuo jedan čovjek. Preračunato na stanovništvo Zagreba,...
