Koronavirus koji trenutno hara svijetom nije isti onaj koji je krenuo iz kineskog Wuhana krajem prošle godine. U međuvremenu SARS-Cov-2 imao je niz mutacija, a najnoviju su otkrili britanski znanstvenici. Oni su u ponedjeljak potvrdili da je 60 lokalnih uprava u Velikoj Britaniji zabilježilo infekcije koje je uzrokovala nova varijanta koronavirusa.

Britanski  Zavod za javno zdravstvo (PHE) objavio je da je od 13. prosinca otkriveno 1108 osoba zaraženih novim sojem i to uglavnom na jugu i istoku zemlje te u područjima s velikom incidencijom COVIDA-19. 

Inicijalna analiza koju su napravili Britanci sugerira da se nova mutacija širi brže od dosadašnjih, no nema dokaza da izaziva ozbiljniji oblik bolesti. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija upoznata je s novim oblikom COVID-19, koji se pojavio na Otoku, a i oni uvjeravaju kako nema primjera da se ovaj soj ponaša drugačije od postojećih vrsta virusa.

Hrvatski epidemiolozi također  smatraju kako nova mutacija ne bi smjela izazvati veće probleme od ovih kakve imamo sada.  

Član Vladinog Znanstvenog vijeća, epidemiolog prof. dr. Branko Kolarić napominje kako otkriveni soj ne mijenja bitno virus i kako ne bi smio utjecati na učinkovitost cjepiva.

 - Ne očekuje se da bi mogao zaobići protutijela koja će nastati cijepljenjem – napominje Kolarić

Isto tvrdi i epidemiolog  dr. Bernard Kaić.  

„Već je bilo takvih novih sojeva. Zadnji prije par mjeseci u SAD-u gdje je utvrđena mutacija koja omogućava lakše širenje, pa se time smatra zaraznijom. No, ni tu nije bilo drukčije kliničke slike bolesti, nego prije. Novi se sojevi stalno javljaju jer svaki virus mijenja kad cirkulira među ljudima – objašnjava Bernard Kaić.

Kaže kako, sve dok mutacije ne utječu na težinu kliničke slike i dok nisu antigneski drukčije, u praksi nema bitnih razlika.

„Nezgodno bi bilo, da je kojim slučajem, došlo do antigenske promjene zbog mutacija. Onda bi se dogodilo da netko tko je prebolio COVID ili tko će se cijepiti ipak ne bi bio zaštićen od nove zaraze. No, takvog soja zasad nema – ističe Kaić.

Za očekivati je da one varijante virusa koje se brže šire među stanovništvom s vremenom postaju dominantne.

Jedan od najvećih strahova na početku pandemije bio da će mutirati u puno smrtonosniji soj, kao što je bio slučaj kod pandemije španjolske gripe koja je od ožujka 1918. do ožujka 1920. godine pokosila između pedeset i sto milijuna ljudi.

No, to se nije dogodilo. Koronavirus je RNK virus i mutira znatno sporije od virusa gripe. Dosadašnja primijećena brzina promjena SARS-CoV-2 je oko dvije mutacije mjesečno zbog čega se postojeći sojevi značajnije ne razlikuju.

Trenutačno u svijetu kola veći broj sojeva koronavirusa, a najvažnija su tri soja: S, V i G.

Pritom je soj G postao dominantan u cijelom svijetu.  G soj najčešći je u Sjevernoj Americi i Europi, a s vremenom je mutirao i u sojeve GR, GH i GV. U Aziji je ostao onaj originalan soj L. Postoji još nekoliko sojeva koji su rjeđi i oni su svi grupirani zajedno u soj O.

U Danskoj se početkom studenog pojavila nova bolest koju su vlasti nazvale Covid-21A. Tu novu mutaciju pronašli su u 12 zaraženih ljudi koji su povezani s farmama kuna, a zatim su i u kunama pronašli isti taj soj. Ta mutacija dovela je do odluke danskih vlasti da ubiju, a potom i zapale, čak milijune  ovih životinja na više od tisuću farmi koje se bave njihovim uzgojem zbog krzna.

Virus proučavaju u vojnoj bazi

Stručnjaci britanske vlade ne vjeruju da bi novootkrivene promjene mogle utjecati na djelotvornost cjepiva na koronavirus, no nastavili su proučavati promjene u genskom kodu i ponašanju virusa u specijalnoj vojnoj bazi u Porton Downu.

Koronavirus koji trenutno hara svijetom nije isti onaj koji je krenuo iz kineskog Wuhana krajem prošle godine. U međuvremenu SARS-Cov-2 imao je niz mutacija, a najnoviju su otkrili britanski znanstvenici. Oni su u ponedjeljak potvrdili da je 60 lokalnih uprava u Velikoj Britaniji zabilježilo infekcije koje je uzrokovala nova varijanta koronavirusa.

Britanski  Zavod za javno zdravstvo (PHE) objavio je da je od 13. prosinca otkriveno 1108 osoba zaraženih novim sojem i to uglavnom na jugu i istoku zemlje te u područjima s velikom incidencijom COVIDA-19. 

Inicijalna analiza koju su napravili Britanci sugerira da se nova mutacija širi brže od dosadašnjih, no nema dokaza da izaziva ozbiljniji oblik bolesti. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija upoznata je s novim oblikom COVID-19, koji se pojavio na Otoku, a i oni uvjeravaju kako nema primjera da se ovaj soj ponaša drugačije od postojećih vrsta virusa.

Hrvatski epidemiolozi također  smatraju kako nova mutacija ne bi smjela izazvati veće probleme od ovih kakve imamo sada.  

Član Vladinog Znanstvenog vijeća, epidemiolog prof. dr. Branko Kolarić napominje kako otkriveni soj ne mijenja bitno virus i kako ne bi smio utjecati na učinkovitost cjepiva.

 - Ne očekuje se da bi mogao zaobići protutijela koja će nastati cijepljenjem – napominje Kolarić

Isto tvrdi i epidemiolog  dr. Bernard Kaić.  

„Već je bilo takvih novih sojeva. Zadnji prije par mjeseci u SAD-u gdje je utvrđena mutacija koja omogućava lakše širenje, pa se time smatra zaraznijom. No, ni tu nije bilo drukčije kliničke slike bolesti, nego prije. Novi se sojevi stalno javljaju jer svaki virus mijenja kad cirkulira među ljudima – objašnjava Bernard Kaić.

Kaže kako, sve dok mutacije ne utječu na težinu kliničke slike i dok nisu antigneski drukčije, u praksi nema bitnih razlika.

„Nezgodno bi bilo, da je kojim slučajem, došlo do antigenske promjene zbog mutacija. Onda bi se dogodilo da netko tko je prebolio COVID ili tko će se cijepiti ipak ne bi bio zaštićen od nove zaraze. No, takvog soja zasad nema – ističe Kaić.

Za očekivati je da one varijante virusa koje se brže šire među stanovništvom s vremenom postaju dominantne.

Jedan od najvećih strahova na početku pandemije bio da će mutirati u puno smrtonosniji soj, kao što je bio slučaj kod pandemije španjolske gripe koja je od ožujka 1918. do ožujka 1920. godine pokosila između pedeset i sto milijuna ljudi.

No, to se nije dogodilo. Koronavirus je RNK virus i mutira znatno sporije od virusa gripe. Dosadašnja primijećena brzina promjena SARS-CoV-2 je oko dvije mutacije mjesečno zbog čega se postojeći sojevi značajnije ne razlikuju.

Trenutačno u svijetu kola veći broj sojeva koronavirusa, a najvažnija su tri soja: S, V i G.

Pritom je soj G postao dominantan u cijelom svijetu.  G soj najčešći je u Sjevernoj Americi i Europi, a s vremenom je mutirao i u sojeve GR, GH i GV. U Aziji je ostao onaj originalan soj L. Postoji još nekoliko sojeva koji su rjeđi i oni su svi grupirani zajedno u soj O.

U Danskoj se početkom studenog pojavila nova bolest koju su vlasti nazvale Covid-21A. Tu novu mutaciju pronašli su u 12 zaraženih ljudi koji su povezani s farmama kuna, a zatim su i u kunama pronašli isti taj soj. Ta mutacija dovela je do odluke danskih vlasti da ubiju, a potom i zapale, čak milijune  ovih životinja na više od tisuću farmi koje se bave njihovim uzgojem zbog krzna.

Virus proučavaju u vojnoj bazi

Stručnjaci britanske vlade ne vjeruju da bi novootkrivene promjene mogle utjecati na djelotvornost cjepiva na koronavirus, no nastavili su proučavati promjene u genskom kodu i ponašanju virusa u specijalnoj vojnoj bazi u Porton Downu.
