Recimo odmah - ulazak u Šengensku Europu je hrvatska vijest godine, i uspjeh godine, kako god hoćete. Sada se zaista svi hrvatski građani mogu osjećati kao građani Europe.
Od 1.siječnja nećemo više biti EU građani drugog reda čim žele preći državnu granicu. OK, postoji i sada onaj utješni ulaz na koji se uparkiraju građani EU pa već godinama nismo išli u red s ‘ostalima‘ kad bismo putovali u Sloveniju ili Mađarsku, ali opet je to onaj ružan osjećaj kad policajcu na granici kroz onaj prozorčić morate uručiti svoju osobne, pa onda policajac ili policajka s onim mrkim pogledom provjeravaju vaše osobne...A vi se znojite, što ako mi nešto izvuku, ako imam neplaćenu tv pretplatu, ne plaćenu kaznu za pogrešno parkiranje...
Sada toga više nema, ideš u Ljubljanu ili Moribor, jedan od najljepših gradova na Europi, ili u Beč kao da iz Splita ideš do Vrgorca ili Vrlike. Sve je, ljudi moji, ravno, sve je, kako je navela kolegica Marina Karlović Sabolić - ‘Hrvatska do Nordkappa‘, a Nordkapp je najsjevernija točka Europe.
Pretpostavljam da će neki reći - a neš ti, i drugi su u Šengenu. Ali ta priča ‘neš ti‘ ne stoji, niste mogli ući u Šengen samo tako, i na tom putu bilo je problema. Postupci hrvatske granične policije prema izbjeglicama bili su pod posebnom prismotrom, bilo je tu i prigovora, i podmetanja...
Koliko je to kompliciran proces potvrđuje i činjenica da su Rumunjska i Bugarska, iako su očekivali zeleno svjetlo kada i Hrvatska, ostali izvan Šengena. I tko zna kada će ući...
Kao što je činjenica da je Hrvatska posljednja, u zadnjem trenutku, ušla u Europsku uniju. I tko zna kada će, i hoće li uopće, a neće, neka druga zemlja upasti u to elitno društvo.
Uostalom uvijek je bolje biti u boljem društvu. Jer najlakše je reći - nismo mi Balkan, ni Zapadni niti bilo koji drugi, ali to što ste rekli i čime se hvalite, stvarno je postalo tek ulaskom u Europsku uniju. Definitivno smo se odmakli od bivšeg društva koje je i danas puno političke nesigurnosti, ekonomskog zaostajanja, nerješenih problema koji će tako ostati još desetljećima.
I još nešto - niti hrvatska priča nije gotova. Tek će sada cijela EU gledati na to kako se ponaša Hrvatska, kako regulira situaciju s izbjeglicama na svojim granicama, jer je Hrvatska postala vanjska granica Europe. Bude li propusna, opet se otvara opasnost da neka od zemalja digne granicu.
Šengen nije samo sloboda kretanja, Europska unija nisu samo zvjezdice na našim automobilskim talbicama, NATO nije tu da se možemo hvalisat pred drugima da nam sada nitko ništa ne može.
Sve je to zapravo dizanje kriterija našeg ponašanja, to je tjeranje da u svemu budemo još bolji. I još nešto, to je, srećom, i kontrola onoga što radimo. Budimo pošteni, mnogi su Hrvati, ne samo političari, shvatili samostalnu Hrvatsku kao license to steal, ilitiga dozvolu za krađu. Za to su se neki i borili, zar ne?
A sada i ministri i političari s niže razine ostaju bez svoje fotelje i bez slobodne jer su muljali, krali, otimali, europske eure. Da je bilo nas pitati i danas bi ti likovi bili i ministri i političari.
Da zaključimo. Ušli smo u posljednji tren, kao posljednji, i u EU i Šengen. I možda nismo ni svjesni koliko smo sreće imali i što to sve znači. Ako ne za nas, a onda za mlađe, buduće generacije.
Oni će, za razliku od nas, doista sebe vidjeti kao europske građane koji će danas biti u Splitu, sutra u Lisabon, a dan kasnije i u Nordkappu. Šteta samo što je London išao svojim putem...

Recimo odmah - ulazak u Šengensku Europu je hrvatska vijest godine, i uspjeh godine, kako god hoćete. Sada se zaista svi hrvatski građani mogu osjećati kao građani Europe.
Od 1.siječnja nećemo više biti EU građani drugog reda čim žele preći državnu granicu. OK, postoji i sada onaj utješni ulaz na koji se uparkiraju građani EU pa već godinama nismo išli u red s ‘ostalima‘ kad bismo putovali u Sloveniju ili Mađarsku, ali opet je to onaj ružan osjećaj kad policajcu na granici kroz onaj prozorčić morate uručiti svoju osobne, pa onda policajac ili policajka s onim mrkim pogledom provjeravaju vaše osobne...A vi se znojite, što ako mi nešto izvuku, ako imam neplaćenu tv pretplatu, ne plaćenu kaznu za pogrešno parkiranje...
Sada toga više nema, ideš u Ljubljanu ili Moribor, jedan od najljepših gradova na Europi, ili u Beč kao da iz Splita ideš do Vrgorca ili Vrlike. Sve je, ljudi moji, ravno, sve je, kako je navela kolegica Marina Karlović Sabolić - ‘Hrvatska do Nordkappa‘, a Nordkapp je najsjevernija točka Europe.
Pretpostavljam da će neki reći - a neš ti, i drugi su u Šengenu. Ali ta priča ‘neš ti‘ ne stoji, niste mogli ući u Šengen samo tako, i na tom putu bilo je problema. Postupci hrvatske granične policije prema izbjeglicama bili su pod posebnom prismotrom, bilo je tu i prigovora, i podmetanja...
Koliko je to kompliciran proces potvrđuje i činjenica da su Rumunjska i Bugarska, iako su očekivali zeleno svjetlo kada i Hrvatska, ostali izvan Šengena. I tko zna kada će ući...
Kao što je činjenica da je Hrvatska posljednja, u zadnjem trenutku, ušla u Europsku uniju. I tko zna kada će, i hoće li uopće, a neće, neka druga zemlja upasti u to elitno društvo.
Uostalom uvijek je bolje biti u boljem društvu. Jer najlakše je reći - nismo mi Balkan, ni Zapadni niti bilo koji drugi, ali to što ste rekli i čime se hvalite, stvarno je postalo tek ulaskom u Europsku uniju. Definitivno smo se odmakli od bivšeg društva koje je i danas puno političke nesigurnosti, ekonomskog zaostajanja, nerješenih problema koji će tako ostati još desetljećima.
I još nešto - niti hrvatska priča nije gotova. Tek će sada cijela EU gledati na to kako se ponaša Hrvatska, kako regulira situaciju s izbjeglicama na svojim granicama, jer je Hrvatska postala vanjska granica Europe. Bude li propusna, opet se otvara opasnost da neka od zemalja digne granicu.
Šengen nije samo sloboda kretanja, Europska unija nisu samo zvjezdice na našim automobilskim talbicama, NATO nije tu da se možemo hvalisat pred drugima da nam sada nitko ništa ne može.
Sve je to zapravo dizanje kriterija našeg ponašanja, to je tjeranje da u svemu budemo još bolji. I još nešto, to je, srećom, i kontrola onoga što radimo. Budimo pošteni, mnogi su Hrvati, ne samo političari, shvatili samostalnu Hrvatsku kao license to steal, ilitiga dozvolu za krađu. Za to su se neki i borili, zar ne?
A sada i ministri i političari s niže razine ostaju bez svoje fotelje i bez slobodne jer su muljali, krali, otimali, europske eure. Da je bilo nas pitati i danas bi ti likovi bili i ministri i političari.
Da zaključimo. Ušli smo u posljednji tren, kao posljednji, i u EU i Šengen. I možda nismo ni svjesni koliko smo sreće imali i što to sve znači. Ako ne za nas, a onda za mlađe, buduće generacije.
Oni će, za razliku od nas, doista sebe vidjeti kao europske građane koji će danas biti u Splitu, sutra u Lisabon, a dan kasnije i u Nordkappu. Šteta samo što je London išao svojim putem...
