Prošla je godina dana od formiranja Europskog parlamenta i početka novog ciklusa u institucijama Europske unije. Tijekom prve godine Hrvatska je prvi put preuzela predsjedanje Vijećem Europske unije. Potpredsjednica Europske komisije Dubravka Šuica dala je svoje viđenje godine iza nas.

Sedma godišnjica ulaska Hrvatske u Europsku uniju koju ćemo uskoro obilježiti prilika je za osvrnuti se na sva naša postignuća i uspjehe kao najmlađa zemlja članica.

Osobno sam imala čast biti dijelom prve delegacije hrvatskih zastupnika u Europskom parlamentu i voditeljicom hrvatske EPP/HDZ delegacije šest i pol godina.

U tom razdoblju svi članovi naše „male delegacije“ su se borili za ključne prioritete Lijepe naše - radili smo za naše poljoprivrednike, ribare, gospodarstvenike, mala i srednja poduzeća, za jednaku kvalitetu proizvoda na istoku i zapadu Unije, ravnopravnost spolova, za širokopojasni internet (WiFi4EU), sigurnost naših građana, ulazak Hrvatske u Schengen kao i za poboljšanje zdravstvenih politika s velikim naglaskom na borbu protiv raka.

Veliki dio mog rada bio je posvećen vanjskopolitičkim temama te sam se kao potpredsjednica Odbora za vanjske poslove u Europskom parlamentu zalagala za ravnopravnost Hrvata u Bosni i Hercegovini te sam radila na transatlantskim odnosima.
 
U srpnju prošle godine sam započela treći mandat u kontinuitetu u Europskom parlamentu, a ubrzo nakon toga sam imala veliku čast biti izabrana prvom potpredsjednicom Kluba zastupnika Europske pučke stranke (EPP) pod vodstvom Manfreda Webera. 

Snaga HDZ-a pokazala se na Kongresu Pučana u Zagrebu gdje su HDZ i Andrej Plenković bili domaćini EPP-u i uz više od 2000 sudionika, uključujući predsjednike, premijere i visoke dužnosnike iz cijele Europe izabrano je novo vodstvo EPP-a na čelu s Donaldom Tuskom. 
 
U prosincu 2019. godine, nakon što me hrvatska Vlada na čelu s Andrejom Plenkovićem imenovala hrvatskom kandidatkinjom za povjerenicu te nakon uspješnog saslušanja u Hrvatskom saboru i Europskom parlamentu, s velikim ponosom i odgovornošću preuzela sam funkciju potpredsjednice Europske komisije s portfeljem demokracije i demografije kojeg mi je povjerila predsjednica Ursula von der Leyen.

Unatoč pandemiji koronavirusa koja je zahvatila cijeli svijet, intenzivan rad na pripremi Konferencije o budućnosti Europe i analizi demografskih trendova u Europi se nastavio i čini sastavni dio Plana za oporavak EU!

Prošla je godina dana od formiranja Europskog parlamenta i početka novog ciklusa u institucijama Europske unije. Tijekom prve godine Hrvatska je prvi put preuzela predsjedanje Vijećem Europske unije. Potpredsjednica Europske komisije Dubravka Šuica dala je svoje viđenje godine iza nas.

Sedma godišnjica ulaska Hrvatske u Europsku uniju koju ćemo uskoro obilježiti prilika je za osvrnuti se na sva naša postignuća i uspjehe kao najmlađa zemlja članica.

Osobno sam imala čast biti dijelom prve delegacije hrvatskih zastupnika u Europskom parlamentu i voditeljicom hrvatske EPP/HDZ delegacije šest i pol godina.

U tom razdoblju svi članovi naše „male delegacije“ su se borili za ključne prioritete Lijepe naše - radili smo za naše poljoprivrednike, ribare, gospodarstvenike, mala i srednja poduzeća, za jednaku kvalitetu proizvoda na istoku i zapadu Unije, ravnopravnost spolova, za širokopojasni internet (WiFi4EU), sigurnost naših građana, ulazak Hrvatske u Schengen kao i za poboljšanje zdravstvenih politika s velikim naglaskom na borbu protiv raka.

Veliki dio mog rada bio je posvećen vanjskopolitičkim temama te sam se kao potpredsjednica Odbora za vanjske poslove u Europskom parlamentu zalagala za ravnopravnost Hrvata u Bosni i Hercegovini te sam radila na transatlantskim odnosima.
 
U srpnju prošle godine sam započela treći mandat u kontinuitetu u Europskom parlamentu, a ubrzo nakon toga sam imala veliku čast biti izabrana prvom potpredsjednicom Kluba zastupnika Europske pučke stranke (EPP) pod vodstvom Manfreda Webera. 

Snaga HDZ-a pokazala se na Kongresu Pučana u Zagrebu gdje su HDZ i Andrej Plenković bili domaćini EPP-u i uz više od 2000 sudionika, uključujući predsjednike, premijere i visoke dužnosnike iz cijele Europe izabrano je novo vodstvo EPP-a na čelu s Donaldom Tuskom. 
 
U prosincu 2019. godine, nakon što me hrvatska Vlada na čelu s Andrejom Plenkovićem imenovala hrvatskom kandidatkinjom za povjerenicu te nakon uspješnog saslušanja u Hrvatskom saboru i Europskom parlamentu, s velikim ponosom i odgovornošću preuzela sam funkciju potpredsjednice Europske komisije s portfeljem demokracije i demografije kojeg mi je povjerila predsjednica Ursula von der Leyen.

Unatoč pandemiji koronavirusa koja je zahvatila cijeli svijet, intenzivan rad na pripremi Konferencije o budućnosti Europe i analizi demografskih trendova u Europi se nastavio i čini sastavni dio Plana za oporavak EU!

Prošla je godina dana od formiranja Europskog parlamenta i početka novog ciklusa u institucijama Europske unije. Tijekom prve godine Hrvatska je prvi put preuzela predsjedanje Vijećem Europske unije. Potpredsjednica Europske komisije Dubravka Šuica dala je svoje viđenje godine iza nas.

Sedma godišnjica ulaska Hrvatske u Europsku uniju koju ćemo uskoro obilježiti prilika je za osvrnuti se na sva naša postignuća i uspjehe kao najmlađa zemlja članica.

Osobno sam imala čast biti dijelom prve delegacije hrvatskih zastupnika u Europskom parlamentu i voditeljicom hrvatske EPP/HDZ delegacije šest i pol godina.

U tom razdoblju svi članovi naše „male delegacije“ su se borili za ključne prioritete Lijepe naše - radili smo za naše poljoprivrednike, ribare, gospodarstvenike,...
