Vratimo se u mislima na početak rata. Konac je devedeset prve, osjećamo se bespomoćno, poraženo. Izbjeglice dolaze iz istočne Slavonije. Uplakana djeca pod ceradama kamionskih prikolica. Srpski rezervisti pjevaju o klanjima marširajući između vukovarskih ruševina. Razmijenjeni zarobljenici pričaju kako su ih mlatili u logorima. Konvoj brodova s hranom i lijekovima plovi prema okupiranom Dubrovniku. Drago Hedl javlja da je iz Baranje i Tenje ponovno silovito napadnut Osijek. Granate padaju po Sisku, Šibeniku, Zadru... Isuse, hoće li ovo sranje ikad završiti, pitamo se turobno piljeći u televizijske ekrane i gaseći opuške u prepunim pepeljarama.

Velike nade polažemo u međunarodne mirovne snage, takozvane Plave kacige, koje će se rasporediti na linijama razdvajanja zaraćenih snaga. Generalni tajnik Perez de Cuellar upozorava ipak da ne treba žuriti s međunarodnim priznanjem Hrvatske jer bi to samo razbuktalo sukobe. Njemački ministar vanjskih poslova Hans Dietrich Genscher odgovara mu da je dosta odugovlačenja. Hrvatska država je stvarnost, nema se više što čekati. Iznenada, neočekivano dolazi krasna vijest, jedna nas zemlja priznaje! I to je prva članica Ujedinjenih naroda koja to čini, cijeli mjesec prije Vatikana, Njemačke, Španjolske, Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva, Italije, Francuske... Znate li koja je to zemlja? Ukrajina.

Jedanaestog prosinca devedeset prve, kad nam je bilo najteže, ipak smo imali jednog prijatelja. Jednu zemlju koja nam je spremno pomogla kad smo bili očajni, na dnu, potrebitiji nego ikad. A kako joj se naša zemlja za to odužila? Zgodno se poklopilo upravo nekako na trideset prvu obljetnicu ukrajinskog priznanja Hrvatske, koji dan prije ili kasnije, da je sad Ukrajina očajna, na dnu, potrebitija nego ikad, a u hrvatskom Saboru su zastupnici odlučili da se u nas neće obučavati ukrajinski vojnici. Molim lijepo, to nije naš rat, poručili su šupci. Mi s time nemamo veze, na našu pomoć ne mogu računati.

Široka je hrvatska duša

Pa, stvarno, veliko je hrvatsko srce. Široka je hrvatska duša. Što kažu, malo nas je, ali nas je previše.

Priča o našem sudjelovanju, odnosno nesudjelovanju u zajedničkom programu pomoći, European Union Assistance Mission Ukraine, dokaz je kako ne bi zaista bilo nikakve štete da sutra nestane svih tri zarez devet milijuna Hrvata. Dapače, čovječanstvo bi možda i profitiralo da takvi debili izumru. Svaki dio ove priče i svaki njezin sudionik teško sramoti našu pamet. Znate kako je sve išlo, ali da ipak ponovimo.

Premijer Plenković brzopleto je obećao da će Hrvatska obučiti nekoliko desetaka ukrajinskih vojnika. Predsjednik Milanović se smrtno uvrijedio da se njega, kao vrhovnog zapovjednika, ništa nije pitalo, a Ukrajina ga iz nedokučivog razloga otprije živcira, i to je zaustavio. Plenković se zatim uvrijedio na Milanovića i odlučio obuku izgurati kroz Sabor, bezobrazno, nasilno, na mišiće, s dvotrećinskom većinom zastupnika. Ali, šipak!

Zastupnici opozicije prije bi umrli nego se oko nečega složili s Plenkovićem. Ivan Penava jedva je dočekao prkosno odbrusiti da će njegovi iz Domovinskog pokreta glasati protiv, a Most, SDP, Možemo, Nova ljevica i Centar, jednostavno su napustili dvoranu.

Jedna beznačajna tema o kojoj se u ostatku EU-a pravo nije ni razgovaralo, već je usvojena jednoglasno i bez rasprave, jedna stvar u kojoj ne bismo imali nikakvog troška niti bi nas ozbiljnije ugrozila, jedna simbolična gesta pomoći napadnutom narodu, u nas je završila tek nakon desetak, petnaest dana rvanja u blatu, u bjesomučnoj tučnjavi taština. A zašto?

Ukrajincima smo uskratili nešto što će oni drugdje, u Francuskoj, Nizozemskoj, Sloveniji ili Poljskoj, lako nadoknaditi. Oni nemaju za bogzna čime žaliti. Gubitak je ovdje samo naš. Ispali smo uskogrudne, sebične kukavice prema čestitim i hrabrim ljudima, rijetkima koji se u gadnim vremenima nisu plašili stati uz nas.

Da su Plenkovića, Milanovića, Penavu, Grbina, Grmoju i druge stavili sve u jednu veliku prostoriju, zavezali im oči i dali nabijene pištolje da nasumično pucaju jedni na druge, to ne bi završilo lošije nego što je sada završilo.

Vratimo se u mislima na početak rata. Konac je devedeset prve, osjećamo se bespomoćno, poraženo. Izbjeglice dolaze iz istočne Slavonije. Uplakana djeca pod ceradama kamionskih prikolica. Srpski rezervisti pjevaju o klanjima marširajući između vukovarskih ruševina. Razmijenjeni zarobljenici pričaju kako su ih mlatili u logorima. Konvoj brodova s hranom i lijekovima plovi prema okupiranom Dubrovniku. Drago Hedl javlja da je iz Baranje i Tenje ponovno silovito napadnut Osijek. Granate padaju po Sisku, Šibeniku, Zadru... Isuse, hoće li ovo sranje ikad završiti, pitamo se turobno piljeći u televizijske ekrane i gaseći opuške u prepunim pepeljarama.

Velike nade polažemo u međunarodne mirovne snage, takozvane Plave kacige, koje će se rasporediti na linijama razdvajanja zaraćenih snaga. Generalni tajnik Perez de Cuellar upozorava ipak da ne treba žuriti s međunarodnim priznanjem Hrvatske jer bi to samo razbuktalo sukobe. Njemački ministar vanjskih poslova Hans Dietrich Genscher odgovara mu da je dosta odugovlačenja. Hrvatska država je stvarnost, nema se više što čekati. Iznenada, neočekivano dolazi krasna vijest, jedna nas zemlja priznaje! I to je prva članica Ujedinjenih naroda koja to čini, cijeli mjesec prije Vatikana, Njemačke, Španjolske, Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva, Italije, Francuske... Znate li koja je to zemlja? Ukrajina.

Jedanaestog prosinca devedeset prve, kad nam je bilo najteže, ipak smo imali jednog prijatelja. Jednu zemlju koja nam je spremno pomogla kad smo bili očajni, na dnu, potrebitiji nego ikad. A kako joj se naša zemlja za to odužila? Zgodno se poklopilo upravo nekako na trideset prvu obljetnicu ukrajinskog priznanja Hrvatske, koji dan prije ili kasnije, da je sad Ukrajina očajna, na dnu, potrebitija nego ikad, a u hrvatskom Saboru su zastupnici odlučili da se u nas neće obučavati ukrajinski vojnici. Molim lijepo, to nije naš rat, poručili su šupci. Mi s time nemamo veze, na našu pomoć ne mogu računati.

Široka je hrvatska duša

Pa, stvarno, veliko je hrvatsko srce. Široka je hrvatska duša. Što kažu, malo nas je, ali nas je previše.

Priča o našem sudjelovanju, odnosno nesudjelovanju u zajedničkom programu pomoći, European Union Assistance Mission Ukraine, dokaz je kako ne bi zaista bilo nikakve štete da sutra nestane svih tri zarez devet milijuna Hrvata. Dapače, čovječanstvo bi možda i profitiralo da takvi debili izumru. Svaki dio ove priče i svaki njezin sudionik teško sramoti našu pamet. Znate kako je sve išlo, ali da ipak ponovimo.

Premijer Plenković brzopleto je obećao da će Hrvatska obučiti nekoliko desetaka ukrajinskih vojnika. Predsjednik Milanović se smrtno uvrijedio da se njega, kao vrhovnog zapovjednika, ništa nije pitalo, a Ukrajina ga iz nedokučivog razloga otprije živcira, i to je zaustavio. Plenković se zatim uvrijedio na Milanovića i odlučio obuku izgurati kroz Sabor, bezobrazno, nasilno, na mišiće, s dvotrećinskom većinom zastupnika. Ali, šipak!

Zastupnici opozicije prije bi umrli nego se oko nečega složili s Plenkovićem. Ivan Penava jedva je dočekao prkosno odbrusiti da će njegovi iz Domovinskog pokreta glasati protiv, a Most, SDP, Možemo, Nova ljevica i Centar, jednostavno su napustili dvoranu.

Jedna beznačajna tema o kojoj se u ostatku EU-a pravo nije ni razgovaralo, već je usvojena jednoglasno i bez rasprave, jedna stvar u kojoj ne bismo imali nikakvog troška niti bi nas ozbiljnije ugrozila, jedna simbolična gesta pomoći napadnutom narodu, u nas je završila tek nakon desetak, petnaest dana rvanja u blatu, u bjesomučnoj tučnjavi taština. A zašto?

Ukrajincima smo uskratili nešto što će oni drugdje, u Francuskoj, Nizozemskoj, Sloveniji ili Poljskoj, lako nadoknaditi. Oni nemaju za bogzna čime žaliti. Gubitak je ovdje samo naš. Ispali smo uskogrudne, sebične kukavice prema čestitim i hrabrim ljudima, rijetkima koji se u gadnim vremenima nisu plašili stati uz nas.

Da su Plenkovića, Milanovića, Penavu, Grbina, Grmoju i druge stavili sve u jednu veliku prostoriju, zavezali im oči i dali nabijene pištolje da nasumično pucaju jedni na druge, to ne bi završilo lošije nego što je sada završilo.
