Usprkos naporima svjetskih lidera, brutalna financijska kriza nastavlja protresati svjetsko gospodarstvo ne štedeći ni najjače korporacije, koje se, grčevito pokušavajući preživjeti, sve češće odlučuju na smanjivanje troškova, tj. na otpuštanje radnika.
Serija otkaza u SAD-u, odakle je kriza i krenula, ovoga je tjedna doživjela vrhunac najavom da će bankarski div Citigroup zatvoriti 52.000 radnih mjesta, a to je nakon 1993. godine, kada je 60.000 ljudi ostalo bez posla zbog IBM-ova kresanja troškova, najveće otpuštanje u Americi.
Naime, Citigroup se suočava s golemim gubicima, a riječ je o 20,8 milijardi dolara, pa se odluka o smanjivanju broja uposlenih u svojoj globalnoj mreži s 352.000 na 300.000 doima kao jedino rješenje.
To više što su investicijske banke, primjerice Lehman Brothers, Bears Sterns, već otpustile desetke tisuća zaposlenih, a mediji spekuliraju kako će i one banke koje još oklijevaju biti prisiljene vući iste poteze.
Analitičari procjenjuju kako će Wall Street, srce američkoga financijskog sustava, iduće godine biti siromašniji za 40.000 radnih mjesta. Automobilska industrija u Sjedinjenim Državama je doslovce na koljenima, pa su direktori General Motorsa, Forda i Chryslera u Washingtonu zatražili kredit od 25 milijardi dolara kako bi premostili teškoće nastale zbog svjetske financijske krize. “
- Ovdje nije riječ samo o Detroitu - izjavio je predsjednik uprave GM-a Rick Wagoner, “nego mnogo više od toga: ovdje je riječ o spašavanju čitavog američkog gospodarstva od katastrofalnog sloma.”
Direktor Chryslera je obrazložio:
- Četiri i pol milijuna ljudi u Americi ovisi o automobilskoj industriji. Bez državne pomoći bi lako moglo tri milijuna ljudi izgubiti posao u sljedećih 12 mjeseci.”
Inače, General Motors je još uvijek najveći proizvođač automobila na svijetu, a upravo je objavio i najveći gubitak svih vremena - 38,7 milijardi dolara.
Ni u njemačkoj autoindustriji nije ništa bolje - više od milijun radnih mjesta je ugroženo, a najgore stanje je u Opelu, kojemu prijeti bankrot ako bankrotira matični koncern u SAD-u General Motors.
Vlade zemalja EU-a ovih dana procjenjuju za koliko će morati korigirati broj uposlenih, pa su, primjerice, Britanci već izračunali kako će London iduću godinu okončati s 360.000 radnih mjesta manje. (A)
‘Preskupo’ 74.000 radnika
Uprava General Motorsa ponudit će sporazumni prekid radnog odnosa za 74.000 svojih radnika - jer su preskupi.
Prema sporazumu sa sindikatom, GM se obvezao na satnicu od 28 dolara, a u koncernu očekuju kako će naći motivirane radnike za upola manje.

Usprkos naporima svjetskih lidera, brutalna financijska kriza nastavlja protresati svjetsko gospodarstvo ne štedeći ni najjače korporacije, koje se, grčevito pokušavajući preživjeti, sve češće odlučuju na smanjivanje troškova, tj. na otpuštanje radnika.
Serija otkaza u SAD-u, odakle je kriza i krenula, ovoga je tjedna doživjela vrhunac najavom da će bankarski div Citigroup zatvoriti 52.000 radnih mjesta, a to je nakon 1993. godine, kada je 60.000 ljudi ostalo bez posla zbog IBM-ova kresanja troškova, najveće otpuštanje u Americi.
Naime, Citigroup se suočava s golemim gubicima, a riječ je o 20,8 milijardi dolara, pa se odluka o smanjivanju broja uposlenih u svojoj globalnoj mreži s 352.000 na 300.000 doima kao jedino rješenje.
To više što su investicijske banke, primjerice Lehman Brothers, Bears Sterns, već otpustile desetke tisuća zaposlenih, a mediji spekuliraju kako će i one banke koje još oklijevaju biti prisiljene vući iste poteze.
Analitičari procjenjuju kako će Wall Street, srce američkoga financijskog sustava, iduće godine biti siromašniji za 40.000 radnih mjesta. Automobilska industrija u Sjedinjenim Državama je doslovce na koljenima, pa su direktori General Motorsa, Forda i Chryslera u Washingtonu zatražili kredit od 25 milijardi dolara kako bi premostili teškoće nastale zbog svjetske financijske krize. “
- Ovdje nije riječ samo o Detroitu - izjavio je predsjednik uprave GM-a Rick Wagoner, “nego mnogo više od toga: ovdje je riječ o spašavanju čitavog američkog gospodarstva od katastrofalnog sloma.”
Direktor Chryslera je obrazložio:
- Četiri i pol milijuna ljudi u Americi ovisi o automobilskoj industriji. Bez državne pomoći bi lako moglo tri milijuna ljudi izgubiti posao u sljedećih 12 mjeseci.”
Inače, General Motors je još uvijek najveći proizvođač automobila na svijetu, a upravo je objavio i najveći gubitak svih vremena - 38,7 milijardi dolara.
Ni u njemačkoj autoindustriji nije ništa bolje - više od milijun radnih mjesta je ugroženo, a najgore stanje je u Opelu, kojemu prijeti bankrot ako bankrotira matični koncern u SAD-u General Motors.
Vlade zemalja EU-a ovih dana procjenjuju za koliko će morati korigirati broj uposlenih, pa su, primjerice, Britanci već izračunali kako će London iduću godinu okončati s 360.000 radnih mjesta manje. (A)
‘Preskupo’ 74.000 radnika
Uprava General Motorsa ponudit će sporazumni prekid radnog odnosa za 74.000 svojih radnika - jer su preskupi.
Prema sporazumu sa sindikatom, GM se obvezao na satnicu od 28 dolara, a u koncernu očekuju kako će naći motivirane radnike za upola manje.
