Najbolji talijanski tenisač Jannik Sinner svladao je Danca Holgera Runea sa 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 u posljednjem pojedinačnom dvoboju u Zelenoj skupini ATP Finala u Torinu i time razveselio svoje navijače, ali i one Novaka Đokovića koji je takvim raspletom zaradio mjesto u polufinalu.
Sinner je lakoćom osvojio prvi set, ali je pokleknuo u završnici drugog seta, kad je trebao izboriti ‘tie-break‘. Rune je došao do svog jedinog ‘breaka‘ u meču i produžio nadu za plasman u polufinale.
U odlučujućem setu je 22-godišnji Talijan propustio dvije prilike za ‘break‘ u trećem gemu, još jednu u petom, da bi Rune u osmom gemu došao do prilike za oduzimanje servisa i vodstvo 5-3. Kad u tome nije uspio, Sinner je slomio suparnikov servis u devetom gemu te u sljedećem prvu meč-loptu pretvorio u pobjedu za maksimalnih 3-0 u skupini i osvajanje prvog mjesta.
Sinner će biti prvi talijanski tenisač koji će imati priliku boriti se plasman u finale završnog ATP turnira.
Na takvom raspletu zahvalan je bio i prvi tenisač svijeta Novak Đoković koji je Sinnerovom pobjedom osvojio drugo mjesto u skupini s učinkom 2-1 i plasirao se u polufinale ATP Finala po 12. put u karijeri, izbjegavši da po peti put napusti mjesto odigravanja završnog turnira nakon grupne faze natjecanja, što mu se posljednji put dogodilo 2019.

Da bi saznali imena polufinalnih suparnika, Sinner i Đoković će morati pričekati rasplet mečeva zadnjeg kola u Crvenoj skupini, u kojoj se zna da je jedan polufinalist Danjil Medvjedev, ali još nije poznato s kojeg će mjesta ući u nokaut fazu. Znamo i da je bez izgleda za plasman u polufinale Andrej Rubljov protiv kojeg će Alexander Zverev igrati u večernjem terminu (21 sat). Tada će već znati može li se plasirati u polufinale, a to će odrediti ishod meča Španjolca Carlosa Alcaraza i Medvjedeva koji će na teren u poslijepodnevnom dijelu programa (14.30 sati).
Uoči posljednjeg kola Medvjedev ima dvije pobjede i set-razliku 4-0. Po jednu pobjedu imaju Zverev i Alcaraz, a Španjolac ima bolju set-razliku: 3-2 u odnosu na Nijemčevih 2-3. Stoga, Alcaraza bilo kakva pobjeda vodi u polufinale. U slučaju da Medvjedev bude bolji od Španjolca, Zverevu bilo kakva pobjeda protiv Rubljova donosi drugo mjesto i plasman u polufinale.

Najbolji talijanski tenisač Jannik Sinner svladao je Danca Holgera Runea sa 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 u posljednjem pojedinačnom dvoboju u Zelenoj skupini ATP Finala u Torinu i time razveselio svoje navijače, ali i one Novaka Đokovića koji je takvim raspletom zaradio mjesto u polufinalu.
Sinner je lakoćom osvojio prvi set, ali je pokleknuo u završnici drugog seta, kad je trebao izboriti ‘tie-break‘. Rune je došao do svog jedinog ‘breaka‘ u meču i produžio nadu za plasman u polufinale.
U odlučujućem setu je 22-godišnji Talijan propustio dvije prilike za ‘break‘ u trećem gemu, još jednu u petom, da bi Rune u osmom gemu došao do prilike za oduzimanje servisa i vodstvo 5-3. Kad u tome nije uspio, Sinner je slomio suparnikov servis u devetom gemu te u sljedećem prvu meč-loptu pretvorio u pobjedu za maksimalnih 3-0 u skupini i osvajanje prvog mjesta.
Sinner će biti prvi talijanski tenisač koji će imati priliku boriti se plasman u finale završnog ATP turnira.
Na takvom raspletu zahvalan je bio i prvi tenisač svijeta Novak Đoković koji je Sinnerovom pobjedom osvojio drugo mjesto u skupini s učinkom 2-1 i plasirao se u polufinale ATP Finala po 12. put u karijeri, izbjegavši da po peti put napusti mjesto odigravanja završnog turnira nakon grupne faze natjecanja, što mu se posljednji put dogodilo 2019.

Da bi saznali imena polufinalnih suparnika, Sinner i Đoković će morati pričekati rasplet mečeva zadnjeg kola u Crvenoj skupini, u kojoj se zna da je jedan polufinalist Danjil Medvjedev, ali još nije poznato s kojeg će mjesta ući u nokaut fazu. Znamo i da je bez izgleda za plasman u polufinale Andrej Rubljov protiv kojeg će Alexander Zverev igrati u večernjem terminu (21 sat). Tada će već znati može li se plasirati u polufinale, a to će odrediti ishod meča Španjolca Carlosa Alcaraza i Medvjedeva koji će na teren u poslijepodnevnom dijelu programa (14.30 sati).
Uoči posljednjeg kola Medvjedev ima dvije pobjede i set-razliku 4-0. Po jednu pobjedu imaju Zverev i Alcaraz, a Španjolac ima bolju set-razliku: 3-2 u odnosu na Nijemčevih 2-3. Stoga, Alcaraza bilo kakva pobjeda vodi u polufinale. U slučaju da Medvjedev bude bolji od Španjolca, Zverevu bilo kakva pobjeda protiv Rubljova donosi drugo mjesto i plasman u polufinale.
