Hrvatski tenisač Borna Ćorić (ATP - 16.) ostao je bez plasmana u polufinale rimskog ATP Masters 1000 turnira, a u četvrtfinalu ga je za 96 minuta nadigrao Grk Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP - 5.) i svladao ga sa 6-3, 6-4.

Bio je to njihov šesti dvoboj, drugi u ovoj sezoni, u kojem je Tsitsipas došao do ukupno treće pobjede, a druge uzastopne.

Do 3-3 bio je to potpuno izjednačen dvoboj, a onda je Grk "ušao u zonu". Od sljedećih sedam gemova Tsitsipas ih je osvojio šest. Prvo je nanizao tri gema za osvajanje prvog seta (6-3), s time da je u devetom gemu asom i ‘winnerom‘ spasio dvije ‘break-lopte‘ (15-40).

Ćorić je osvojio prvi gem drugog seta, da bi Grk ponovno povezao tri osvojena gema i poveo sa 3-1. Hrvatski tenisač je u sedmom gemu spasio još jednu ‘break-loptu‘, kad je Tsitsipas mogao otići na 5-2, da bi u sljedećem gemu iskoristio svoju priliku i vratio set u rezultatsku ravnotežu (4-4).

Nažalost, već u sljedećem gemu grčki tenisač je došao do nove prilike za ‘break‘, koju je i iskoristio kad nije "upalio" Ćorićev pokušaj izlaska na mrežu nakon servisa.

Kad je dobio priliku zaključiti meč, Tsitsipas je to učinio na uvjerljiv način prepustivši Borni samo još jedan poen. 

Prošlogodišnji finalist rimskog Mastersa će za plasman u svoje drugo uzastopno finale morati pobijediti Rusa Danjila Medvjedeva (ATP - 3.) koji je opravdao ulogu favorita i u četvrtfinalnom dvoboju svladao njemačkog kvalifikanta Yannicka Hanfmanna (ATP - 101.) sa 6-2, 6-2 za 80 minuta.

Za 27-godišnjeg Rusa ovo je najbolji rezultat na rimskom Mastersu i njegovo drugo polufinale na ovoj razini turnira na zemljanoj podlozi, nakon što je prije četiri godine bio polufinalist u Monte Carlu.

U gornjem dijelu ždrijeba polufinale su izborili Danac Holger Rune i Norvežanin Casper Ruud.

Polufinalni dvoboji su na rasporedu u subotu, a dvoboj za naslov na rasporedu je u nedjelju.

Hrvatski tenisač Borna Ćorić (ATP - 16.) ostao je bez plasmana u polufinale rimskog ATP Masters 1000 turnira, a u četvrtfinalu ga je za 96 minuta nadigrao Grk Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP - 5.) i svladao ga sa 6-3, 6-4.

Bio je to njihov šesti dvoboj, drugi u ovoj sezoni, u kojem je Tsitsipas došao do ukupno treće pobjede, a druge uzastopne.

Do 3-3 bio je to potpuno izjednačen dvoboj, a onda je Grk "ušao u zonu". Od sljedećih sedam gemova Tsitsipas ih je osvojio šest. Prvo je nanizao tri gema za osvajanje prvog seta (6-3), s time da je u devetom gemu asom i ‘winnerom‘ spasio dvije ‘break-lopte‘ (15-40).

Ćorić je osvojio prvi gem drugog seta, da bi Grk ponovno povezao tri osvojena gema i poveo sa 3-1. Hrvatski tenisač je u sedmom gemu spasio još jednu ‘break-loptu‘, kad je Tsitsipas mogao otići na 5-2, da bi u sljedećem gemu iskoristio svoju priliku i vratio set u rezultatsku ravnotežu (4-4).

Nažalost, već u sljedećem gemu grčki tenisač je došao do nove prilike za ‘break‘, koju je i iskoristio kad nije "upalio" Ćorićev pokušaj izlaska na mrežu nakon servisa.

Kad je dobio priliku zaključiti meč, Tsitsipas je to učinio na uvjerljiv način prepustivši Borni samo još jedan poen. 

Prošlogodišnji finalist rimskog Mastersa će za plasman u svoje drugo uzastopno finale morati pobijediti Rusa Danjila Medvjedeva (ATP - 3.) koji je opravdao ulogu favorita i u četvrtfinalnom dvoboju svladao njemačkog kvalifikanta Yannicka Hanfmanna (ATP - 101.) sa 6-2, 6-2 za 80 minuta.

Za 27-godišnjeg Rusa ovo je najbolji rezultat na rimskom Mastersu i njegovo drugo polufinale na ovoj razini turnira na zemljanoj podlozi, nakon što je prije četiri godine bio polufinalist u Monte Carlu.

U gornjem dijelu ždrijeba polufinale su izborili Danac Holger Rune i Norvežanin Casper Ruud.

Polufinalni dvoboji su na rasporedu u subotu, a dvoboj za naslov na rasporedu je u nedjelju.

ATP Rim: Tsitsipas zaustavio Ćorića u četvrtfinalu

Hrvatski tenisač Borna Ćorić (ATP - 16.) ostao je bez plasmana u polufinale rimskog ATP Masters 1000 turnira, a u četvrtfinalu ga je za 96 minuta nadigrao Grk Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP - 5.) i svladao ga sa 6-3, 6-4.

Bio je to njihov šesti dvoboj, drugi u ovoj sezoni, u kojem je Tsitsipas došao do ukupno treće pobjede, a druge uzastopne.

Do 3-3 bio je to potpuno izjednačen dvoboj, a onda je Grk "ušao u zonu". Od sljedećih sedam gemova Tsitsipas ih je osvojio šest. Prvo je nanizao tri gema za osvajanje prvog seta (6-3), s time da je u devetom gemu asom i ‘winnerom‘ spasio dvije ‘break-lopte‘ (15-40).

Ćorić je osvojio prvi gem drugog seta, da bi Grk ponovno povezao tri osvojena gema i poveo sa 3-1. Hrvatski tenisač je u sedmom gemu spasio još jednu ‘break-loptu‘, kad je Tsitsipas mogao otići na 5-2, da bi u sljedećem gemu iskoristio svoju priliku i vratio set u rezultatsku ravnotežu (4-4).

Nažalost, već u sljedećem gemu grčki tenisač je došao do nove prilike za ‘break‘, koju je i iskoristio kad nije "upalio" Ćorićev pokušaj izlaska na mrežu nakon servisa.

Kad je dobio priliku zaključiti meč, Tsitsipas je to učinio na uvjerljiv način prepustivši Borni samo još jedan poen. 

Prošlogodišnji finalist rimskog Mastersa će za plasman u svoje drugo uzastopno finale morati pobijediti Rusa Danjila Medvjedeva (ATP - 3.) koji je opravdao ulogu favorita i u četvrtfinalnom dvoboju svladao njemačkog kvalifikanta Yannicka Hanfmanna (ATP - 101.) sa 6-2, 6-2 za 80 minuta.

Za 27-godišnjeg Rusa ovo je najbolji rezultat na rimskom Mastersu i njegovo drugo polufinale na ovoj razini turnira na zemljanoj podlozi, nakon što je prije četiri godine bio polufinalist u Monte Carlu.

U gornjem dijelu ždrijeba polufinale su izborili Danac Holger Rune i Norvežanin Casper Ruud.

Polufinalni dvoboji su na rasporedu u subotu, a dvoboj za naslov na rasporedu je u nedjelju.
