Miroslav Blažević koncem listopada 1995. završio je u zatvoru, nakon što ga je francuska financijska policija uhvatila u francuskoj zoni ženevskog aerodroma Cointrin. Ćiro je tamo završio zbog optužbi da je upleten u nogometnu aferu stoljeća, kako se tada nazivalo suđenje Bernardu Tapieu, bivšem gazdi Olimpiquea iz Marseillesa - pišu Sportske novosti.

Nekadašnji generalni direktor marsejskog kluba Jean Pierre Barnes, teretio je Blaževića da je za 420.000 francuskih franaka sredio da 1989. neodlučenim ishodom 0:0 završi utakmica između Nantesa, kojeg je tada Ćiro trenirao, i Tapievog Olimpiquea. I tako je Ćiro završio na Interpolovoj tjeralici, odnosno u zatvoru u kojem je proveo ukupno 17 dana. Nikakva optužnica nije kasnije protiv Ćire bila podignuta, a Barnes je svoj iskaz povukao.

Naravno da je Ćiro u zatvoru punio naslovnice hrvatskih medija. Bio je izbornik Vatrenih, ali i veliki prijatelj tadašnjeg predsjednika Franje Tuđmana. Sportske novosti poslale su čak dva izvjestitelja u Marseille - pokojnog Tomislava Židaka i Mislava Galića - kako bi na licu mjesta pokušali doznati nešto više o kompletnoj aferi. Međutim, i oni su u Marseilleu naletjeli na "zid šutnje", što je bilo i očekivano u takvim okolnostima.

Ćirin odvjetnik bio je Jacques Barillom, Švicarac velikog ugleda, s uredom u strogom centru Ženeve.

"U subotu navečer nazvala me njegova obitelj plačući da je u pritvoru. Sjeo sam na avion i odletio u Marseille. Već u ponedjeljak sam ga vidio... Bio je šokiran, nije imao pojma da je za njim izdana međunarodna tjeralica. da mu je nešto bilo mutno sigurno bi me nazvao, ovako je bezbrižno hodao, što već samo po sebi sugerira da je nevin. Istražni sudac ga je zadržao u pritvoru, kako ne bi došlo do mogućeg kontakta između njega i Bernesa, koji je iznio optužbe. Čim da iskaz, ide van..."

Hrvatska je već 15. studenog protiv Slovenije igrala važnu kvalifikacijsku utakmicu za odlazak na Euro 1996., a izbornik joj je sjedio iza rešetaka. Stoga su mnogi već kalkulirali da će vatrene protiv Slovenaca voditi netko drugi, a najviše su se spominjali Otto Barić i Mirko Jozić, možda i Tomislav Ivić, a dio je njih zagovarao Ćirinog pomoćnika Branka Ivankovića.

A Ćiro za to vrijeme u zatvoru nije previše brinuo.

"Tata je jako dobro, zatvorski dani nisu ostavili traga na njemu, kaže da je istina njegovo najjače i nepobjedivo oružje", prepričavao je Ćirin sin Miroslav susret s ocem za koji je dozvolio dobio tek nakon 10 dana očevog boravka u pritvoru.

Kolega Židak je Miroslavu junioru turnuo papirić s nekoliko pitanja za oca.

"Nikad nisam bio motiviran kao sada. I neka se Slovenci pripreme na škakljivu utakmicu. Sada uopoće ne sumnjam da ćemo biti prvi", napisao je Ćiro odgovor, uz poruku da nikada nije sumnjao kako će tadašnji predsjednik HNS-a Vlatko Marković čvrsto stati viza njega. Što je pokojni Marković i bio napravio.

Ćiro je iz zatvora pušten 6. studenog, točno 17 dana nakon što je bio priveden. U međuvremenu je odradio sva potrebna ispitivanja i svjedočenja.

"Nikad nisam mislio da me netko može strpati u zatvor. A zapravo, svatko može završiti u zatvoru. Međutim, ne može se osuditi nevinog čovjeka, a ja sam nevin."

Potom je objasnio detalje zbog kojih je morao 17 dana odležati "s one strane".

"Bernes je priznao na suđenju da me Tapie zamolio za iznos od 500.000 franaka da ne stavim Youma u momčad. I potvrdio je da sam ignorirao Tapieu ponudu, čak i da sam se bio jako razljutio. Priznali su da je 420.000 franaka poslano na moj račun kako bih proslijedio proviziju za Piksija Stojkovića, odnosno da bi ga Nogometni savez Jugoslavije pustio u Marseille. Učinio sam uslugu nekim ljudima koje sam dugo poznavao."

Ispričao je i o čemu je razmišljao u zatvoru?

"Najprije sam se želio povući, dati ostavku na mjesto izbornika. Onda mi je sin rekao da atmosfera u Hrvatskoj nije takva, da ljudi ne žele da odem. Meni je samo žao što sam potrošio tih 17 dana u zatvoru, bez obzira na to što su me tamo pazili kao da sam u sanatoriju."

Tih 17 dana u zatvoru Ćiro je brzo zaboravio. Hrvatska je s njim na klupi u gostima pobijedila Sloveniju 1:0 i plasirala se na Euro 1996.

Miroslav Blažević koncem listopada 1995. završio je u zatvoru, nakon što ga je francuska financijska policija uhvatila u francuskoj zoni ženevskog aerodroma Cointrin. Ćiro je tamo završio zbog optužbi da je upleten u nogometnu aferu stoljeća, kako se tada nazivalo suđenje Bernardu Tapieu, bivšem gazdi Olimpiquea iz Marseillesa - pišu Sportske novosti.

Nekadašnji generalni direktor marsejskog kluba Jean Pierre Barnes, teretio je Blaževića da je za 420.000 francuskih franaka sredio da 1989. neodlučenim ishodom 0:0 završi utakmica između Nantesa, kojeg je tada Ćiro trenirao, i Tapievog Olimpiquea. I tako je Ćiro završio na Interpolovoj tjeralici, odnosno u zatvoru u kojem je proveo ukupno 17 dana. Nikakva optužnica nije kasnije protiv Ćire bila podignuta, a Barnes je svoj iskaz povukao.

Naravno da je Ćiro u zatvoru punio naslovnice hrvatskih medija. Bio je izbornik Vatrenih, ali i veliki prijatelj tadašnjeg predsjednika Franje Tuđmana. Sportske novosti poslale su čak dva izvjestitelja u Marseille - pokojnog Tomislava Židaka i Mislava Galića - kako bi na licu mjesta pokušali doznati nešto više o kompletnoj aferi. Međutim, i oni su u Marseilleu naletjeli na "zid šutnje", što je bilo i očekivano u takvim okolnostima.

Ćirin odvjetnik bio je Jacques Barillom, Švicarac velikog ugleda, s uredom u strogom centru Ženeve.

"U subotu navečer nazvala me njegova obitelj plačući da je u pritvoru. Sjeo sam na avion i odletio u Marseille. Već u ponedjeljak sam ga vidio... Bio je šokiran, nije imao pojma da je za njim izdana međunarodna tjeralica. da mu je nešto bilo mutno sigurno bi me nazvao, ovako je bezbrižno hodao, što već samo po sebi sugerira da je nevin. Istražni sudac ga je zadržao u pritvoru, kako ne bi došlo do mogućeg kontakta između njega i Bernesa, koji je iznio optužbe. Čim da iskaz, ide van..."

Hrvatska je već 15. studenog protiv Slovenije igrala važnu kvalifikacijsku utakmicu za odlazak na Euro 1996., a izbornik joj je sjedio iza rešetaka. Stoga su mnogi već kalkulirali da će vatrene protiv Slovenaca voditi netko drugi, a najviše su se spominjali Otto Barić i Mirko Jozić, možda i Tomislav Ivić, a dio je njih zagovarao Ćirinog pomoćnika Branka Ivankovića.

A Ćiro za to vrijeme u zatvoru nije previše brinuo.

"Tata je jako dobro, zatvorski dani nisu ostavili traga na njemu, kaže da je istina njegovo najjače i nepobjedivo oružje", prepričavao je Ćirin sin Miroslav susret s ocem za koji je dozvolio dobio tek nakon 10 dana očevog boravka u pritvoru.

Kolega Židak je Miroslavu junioru turnuo papirić s nekoliko pitanja za oca.

"Nikad nisam bio motiviran kao sada. I neka se Slovenci pripreme na škakljivu utakmicu. Sada uopoće ne sumnjam da ćemo biti prvi", napisao je Ćiro odgovor, uz poruku da nikada nije sumnjao kako će tadašnji predsjednik HNS-a Vlatko Marković čvrsto stati viza njega. Što je pokojni Marković i bio napravio.

Ćiro je iz zatvora pušten 6. studenog, točno 17 dana nakon što je bio priveden. U međuvremenu je odradio sva potrebna ispitivanja i svjedočenja.

"Nikad nisam mislio da me netko može strpati u zatvor. A zapravo, svatko može završiti u zatvoru. Međutim, ne može se osuditi nevinog čovjeka, a ja sam nevin."

Potom je objasnio detalje zbog kojih je morao 17 dana odležati "s one strane".

"Bernes je priznao na suđenju da me Tapie zamolio za iznos od 500.000 franaka da ne stavim Youma u momčad. I potvrdio je da sam ignorirao Tapieu ponudu, čak i da sam se bio jako razljutio. Priznali su da je 420.000 franaka poslano na moj račun kako bih proslijedio proviziju za Piksija Stojkovića, odnosno da bi ga Nogometni savez Jugoslavije pustio u Marseille. Učinio sam uslugu nekim ljudima koje sam dugo poznavao."

Ispričao je i o čemu je razmišljao u zatvoru?

"Najprije sam se želio povući, dati ostavku na mjesto izbornika. Onda mi je sin rekao da atmosfera u Hrvatskoj nije takva, da ljudi ne žele da odem. Meni je samo žao što sam potrošio tih 17 dana u zatvoru, bez obzira na to što su me tamo pazili kao da sam u sanatoriju."

Tih 17 dana u zatvoru Ćiro je brzo zaboravio. Hrvatska je s njim na klupi u gostima pobijedila Sloveniju 1:0 i plasirala se na Euro 1996.

Miroslav Blažević koncem listopada 1995. završio je u zatvoru, nakon što ga je francuska financijska policija uhvatila u francuskoj zoni ženevskog aerodroma Cointrin. Ćiro je tamo završio zbog optužbi da je upleten u nogometnu aferu stoljeća, kako se tada nazivalo suđenje Bernardu Tapieu, bivšem gazdi Olimpiquea iz Marseillesa - pišu Sportske novosti.

Nekadašnji generalni direktor marsejskog kluba Jean Pierre Barnes, teretio je Blaževića da je za 420.000 francuskih franaka sredio da 1989. neodlučenim ishodom 0:0 završi utakmica između Nantesa, kojeg je tada Ćiro trenirao, i Tapievog Olimpiquea. I tako je Ćiro završio na Interpolovoj tjeralici, odnosno u zatvoru u kojem je proveo ukupno 17 dana. Nikakva optužnica nije kasnije protiv Ćire bila podignuta, a Barnes...
