Širi se format Mundijala, ovo je posljednji sa 32 sudionika, FIFA je odlučila proširiti popis reprezentacija na 48, toliko će ih biti za četiri godine. Tri i pol točnije, jer igrat će se u lipnju i srpnju 2026., u tri zemlje preko Atlantika, u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama, Kanadi i Meksiku.
Odabrani su gradovi, broj sudionika, ali još se ne zna sustav natjecanja, kako je nekidan priznao Gianni Infantino, predsjednik FIFA.
U lipnju su odabrali gradove, glavninu će snosit SAD, domaćini su Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Seattle i San Francisco. Meksiko daje tri grada domaćina, to su Ciudad de Mexico, Guadalajara i Monterrey, te Kanada partecipira sa dva grada, a to su Vancouver i Toronto.
Bit će 48 ekipa, suzit će se mogućnost da neki velikani tipa Italija – ne upadnu, a prostor se ostavlja najmanjima da nahrupe na najveću smotru. Ali, kako će se igrati?
Konfuzija vlada u FIFA-i i to možemo reći da još nije viđeno, da se u ova doba još ne zna sustav natjecanja. Ni sustav kvalifikacija...
Strah od namještaljki
Zabunu unosi činjenica da će sudionika biti – 48, treba to posložiti. Dvije su (bile) opcije, prva glasi: 16 grupa po tri, pa bi treći nakon dvije utakmice u skupini odmah otpao. Je li to glupo da netko dođe na Mundijal e da bi odigrao samo dvije utakmice? I ide kući? Jest, glupo je. Zato je ta, opcija, čini se, odbačena.

I ne samo to, moguće su namještaljke. Skupina od tri značila bi i mogućnost da jedna selekcija u zadnjem kolu bude slobodna, što bi dovelo do situacije da preostale dvije odigraju susret s rezultatom koji im objema – odgovara. I treću pošalju kući. Ne bi bilo čudo.
FIFA je vidjela da to nije pravo rješenje i ima drugu soluciju u rukama.
Dajmo šansu malima...
Zato je ipak vjerojatno da se pribjegne sustavu od 12 skupina sa po četiri momčadi, a osim dvije prvoplasirane reprezentacije u završni kup-sustav plasiralo bi se i osam trećeplasiranih.
Tako bismo dobili 32 momčadi u završnom krugu i sigurno je tek da se od idućeg Mundijala u svakom slučaju nakon odigranog po skupinama prilazi – šesnaestini finala. Što će format napraviti glomaznim, igrale bi se 104 utakmice!
Dajmo šansu malima, ali i brzo ih pošaljimo kući. Više utakmica, više navijača, više zemalja izravno zainteresiranih, više novca. Sve je to razumljiva potka, ali još se nisu definirali važni detalji.

Širi se format Mundijala, ovo je posljednji sa 32 sudionika, FIFA je odlučila proširiti popis reprezentacija na 48, toliko će ih biti za četiri godine. Tri i pol točnije, jer igrat će se u lipnju i srpnju 2026., u tri zemlje preko Atlantika, u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama, Kanadi i Meksiku.
Odabrani su gradovi, broj sudionika, ali još se ne zna sustav natjecanja, kako je nekidan priznao Gianni Infantino, predsjednik FIFA.
U lipnju su odabrali gradove, glavninu će snosit SAD, domaćini su Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Seattle i San Francisco. Meksiko daje tri grada domaćina, to su Ciudad de Mexico, Guadalajara i Monterrey, te Kanada partecipira sa dva grada, a to su Vancouver i Toronto.
Bit će 48 ekipa, suzit će se mogućnost da neki velikani tipa Italija – ne upadnu, a prostor se ostavlja najmanjima da nahrupe na najveću smotru. Ali, kako će se igrati?
Konfuzija vlada u FIFA-i i to možemo reći da još nije viđeno, da se u ova doba još ne zna sustav natjecanja. Ni sustav kvalifikacija...
Strah od namještaljki
Zabunu unosi činjenica da će sudionika biti – 48, treba to posložiti. Dvije su (bile) opcije, prva glasi: 16 grupa po tri, pa bi treći nakon dvije utakmice u skupini odmah otpao. Je li to glupo da netko dođe na Mundijal e da bi odigrao samo dvije utakmice? I ide kući? Jest, glupo je. Zato je ta, opcija, čini se, odbačena.

I ne samo to, moguće su namještaljke. Skupina od tri značila bi i mogućnost da jedna selekcija u zadnjem kolu bude slobodna, što bi dovelo do situacije da preostale dvije odigraju susret s rezultatom koji im objema – odgovara. I treću pošalju kući. Ne bi bilo čudo.
FIFA je vidjela da to nije pravo rješenje i ima drugu soluciju u rukama.
Dajmo šansu malima...
Zato je ipak vjerojatno da se pribjegne sustavu od 12 skupina sa po četiri momčadi, a osim dvije prvoplasirane reprezentacije u završni kup-sustav plasiralo bi se i osam trećeplasiranih.
Tako bismo dobili 32 momčadi u završnom krugu i sigurno je tek da se od idućeg Mundijala u svakom slučaju nakon odigranog po skupinama prilazi – šesnaestini finala. Što će format napraviti glomaznim, igrale bi se 104 utakmice!
Dajmo šansu malima, ali i brzo ih pošaljimo kući. Više utakmica, više navijača, više zemalja izravno zainteresiranih, više novca. Sve je to razumljiva potka, ali još se nisu definirali važni detalji.
