Napadač Manchester Uniteda i engleske reeprezentacije Marcus Rashford odlučio je pokrenuti književni klub kako bi pomogao djeci da dobiju priliku za čitanje.

Rashford, čiji su napori da pomogne djeci iz siromašnih obitelji već prisilile britansku vladu na zaokret u financiranju  obroka u školama za vrijeme praznika, udružio je snage s izdavačem Macmillan Children's Books.

"Ja sam počeo čitati tek sa 17 godina i to mi je u potpunosti promijenilo pogled i mentalitet", kazao je Rashford čija je obitelj preživljavala zahvaljujući kuponima za hranu  i vladinoj pomoći.

"Htio sam da mi je bila pružena prilika da više čitam kao djete, no knjige su bile nešto što si nismo mogli priuštiti jer smo kao obitelj trebali hranu."

Knjige iz njegovog književnog kluba bit će namijenjene djeci iz siormašnih dijelova društva i ranjivih skupina.

Rashford, koji je dobio Red Britanskog carstva - viteško odlikovanje Britanske monarhije za humanitarni i volonterski rad - za svoju inicijativu za školske obroke, kazao je kako je bilo trenutaka u njegovom detinjstvu kada mu je bijeg u knjige mogao pomoći. 

"Želim takav bijeg za svu djecu. Ne samo za one koji si to mogu priuštiti. Znamo da ima preko 380,000 djece u cijeloj Velikoj Britaniji koji nisu nikada imali knjigu, da ima djece koja žive u teškim uvjetima. To se treba promijeniti."

Rashford čak sam piše knjigu pri čemu će mu, prema pisanju "The Guardiana", pomoći novinar Carl Anka i psihologinja Katie Warriner.

Knjiga će biti naslovljena "YOU ARE A CHAMPION: Unlock Your Potential, Find Your Voice And Be The BEST You Can Be" (Ti si šampion, otključaj svoj potencijal, nađi svoj glas i budu najbolji što možeš).

"Moje knjige jesu i uvijek će biti za svako dijete čak iako im ih ja moram sam donijeti. Doći ćemo do njih", kazao je 23-godišnji Rashford.

Napadač Manchester Uniteda i engleske reeprezentacije Marcus Rashford odlučio je pokrenuti književni klub kako bi pomogao djeci da dobiju priliku za čitanje.

Rashford, čiji su napori da pomogne djeci iz siromašnih obitelji već prisilile britansku vladu na zaokret u financiranju  obroka u školama za vrijeme praznika, udružio je snage s izdavačem Macmillan Children's Books.

"Ja sam počeo čitati tek sa 17 godina i to mi je u potpunosti promijenilo pogled i mentalitet", kazao je Rashford čija je obitelj preživljavala zahvaljujući kuponima za hranu  i vladinoj pomoći.

"Htio sam da mi je bila pružena prilika da više čitam kao djete, no knjige su bile nešto što si nismo mogli priuštiti jer smo kao obitelj trebali hranu."

Knjige iz njegovog književnog kluba bit će namijenjene djeci iz siormašnih dijelova društva i ranjivih skupina.

Rashford, koji je dobio Red Britanskog carstva - viteško odlikovanje Britanske monarhije za humanitarni i volonterski rad - za svoju inicijativu za školske obroke, kazao je kako je bilo trenutaka u njegovom detinjstvu kada mu je bijeg u knjige mogao pomoći. 

"Želim takav bijeg za svu djecu. Ne samo za one koji si to mogu priuštiti. Znamo da ima preko 380,000 djece u cijeloj Velikoj Britaniji koji nisu nikada imali knjigu, da ima djece koja žive u teškim uvjetima. To se treba promijeniti."

Rashford čak sam piše knjigu pri čemu će mu, prema pisanju "The Guardiana", pomoći novinar Carl Anka i psihologinja Katie Warriner.

Knjiga će biti naslovljena "YOU ARE A CHAMPION: Unlock Your Potential, Find Your Voice And Be The BEST You Can Be" (Ti si šampion, otključaj svoj potencijal, nađi svoj glas i budu najbolji što možeš).

"Moje knjige jesu i uvijek će biti za svako dijete čak iako im ih ja moram sam donijeti. Doći ćemo do njih", kazao je 23-godišnji Rashford.

Marcus Rashford nastavlja pomagati zajednici: mladi igrač Manchester Uniteda odlučio je pokrenuti književni klub za djecu

Napadač Manchester Uniteda i engleske reeprezentacije Marcus Rashford odlučio je pokrenuti književni klub kako bi pomogao djeci da dobiju priliku za čitanje.

Rashford, čiji su napori da pomogne djeci iz siromašnih obitelji već prisilile britansku vladu na zaokret u financiranju  obroka u školama za vrijeme praznika, udružio je snage s izdavačem Macmillan Children's Books.

"Ja sam počeo čitati tek sa 17 godina i to mi je u potpunosti promijenilo pogled i mentalitet", kazao je Rashford čija je obitelj preživljavala zahvaljujući kuponima za hranu  i vladinoj pomoći.

"Htio sam da mi je bila pružena prilika da više čitam kao djete, no knjige su bile nešto što si nismo mogli priuštiti jer smo kao obitelj trebali hranu."

Knjige iz njegovog književnog kluba bit će namijen...
