Napadač Manchester Uniteda i engleski nogometni reprezentativac Marcus Rashford u dobi od 23 godine postao je najmlađi dobitnik počasnog doktorata Sveučilišta u Manchesteru zbog svog angažmana u borbi protiv siromaštva među djecom.

Rashford je doktorat zadobio svojom kampanjom za pribavljanje obroka za svu djecu u školskoj dobi napomenuvši koliko je to njemu značilo tijekom odrastanja.

Prije Rashforda, počasne doktorate Sveučilišta u Manchesteru od članova Uniteda dobili su samo Alex Ferguson i Bobby Charlton.

"Biti u društvu takve veličine kao što je Sir Alex, koji je odigrao veliku ulogu na mom putu je jako posebno. Zahvalan sam svima koji su odvojili vreemena za mene danas. Ja sada primam počasni doktorat zbog svog rada na otklanjanju siromaštva među djecom, a baš jučer su milijuni obitelji u Velikoj Britaniji izgubile važan izvor prihoda", kazao je Rashford referirajući se na odluku britanske vlade kojom se okončava pomoć od 20 funti tjedno za najsiromašnije obitelji.

"Tom odlukom povećava se rizik da u ovoj zemlji svako treće dijete bude siromašno. Zato danas imam podijeljene osjećaje. Mislim kako je vrijeme da oni koji donose takve odluke posjete zajednice poput moje i vide iz prve ruke borbu za preživljavanje", dodao je Rashford.

Mladi je napadač Uniteda prikupio oko 20 milijuna funti zahvaljujući svojoj humanitarnoj zakladi Fareshare UK za pomoć potrebitim obiteljima tijekom pandemije uzrokovane koronavirusom.

Napadač Manchester Uniteda i engleski nogometni reprezentativac Marcus Rashford u dobi od 23 godine postao je najmlađi dobitnik počasnog doktorata Sveučilišta u Manchesteru zbog svog angažmana u borbi protiv siromaštva među djecom.

Rashford je doktorat zadobio svojom kampanjom za pribavljanje obroka za svu djecu u školskoj dobi napomenuvši koliko je to njemu značilo tijekom odrastanja.

Prije Rashforda, počasne doktorate Sveučilišta u Manchesteru od članova Uniteda dobili su samo Alex Ferguson i Bobby Charlton.

"Biti u društvu takve veličine kao što je Sir Alex, koji je odigrao veliku ulogu na mom putu je jako posebno. Zahvalan sam svima koji su odvojili vreemena za mene danas. Ja sada primam počasni doktorat zbog svog rada na otklanjanju siromaštva među djecom, a baš jučer su milijuni obitelji u Velikoj Britaniji izgubile važan izvor prihoda", kazao je Rashford referirajući se na odluku britanske vlade kojom se okončava pomoć od 20 funti tjedno za najsiromašnije obitelji.

"Tom odlukom povećava se rizik da u ovoj zemlji svako treće dijete bude siromašno. Zato danas imam podijeljene osjećaje. Mislim kako je vrijeme da oni koji donose takve odluke posjete zajednice poput moje i vide iz prve ruke borbu za preživljavanje", dodao je Rashford.

Mladi je napadač Uniteda prikupio oko 20 milijuna funti zahvaljujući svojoj humanitarnoj zakladi Fareshare UK za pomoć potrebitim obiteljima tijekom pandemije uzrokovane koronavirusom.

Marcus Rashford dobio počasni doktorat zbog svog humanitarnog rada

Napadač Manchester Uniteda i engleski nogometni reprezentativac Marcus Rashford u dobi od 23 godine postao je najmlađi dobitnik počasnog doktorata Sveučilišta u Manchesteru zbog svog angažmana u borbi protiv siromaštva među djecom.

Rashford je doktorat zadobio svojom kampanjom za pribavljanje obroka za svu djecu u školskoj dobi napomenuvši koliko je to njemu značilo tijekom odrastanja.

Prije Rashforda, počasne doktorate Sveučilišta u Manchesteru od članova Uniteda dobili su samo Alex Ferguson i Bobby Charlton.
