Zambijski reprezentativac i branič Brighton & Hove Albiona Enock Mwepu (24) završio je karijeru zbog urođene srčane mane, objavio je engleski premierligaš.

Mwepu je prisiljen prekinuti svoju igračku karijeru nakon dijagnoze nasljednog srčanog oboljenja. Njegovo stanje se s vremenom može pogoršati i izložilo bi Enocka izuzetno visokom riziku od potencijalno smrtonosnog srčanog udara ako bi nastavio igrati natjecateljski nogomet, poručili su iz kluba na svojim stranicama.

"Neki snovi jednostavno moraju završiti i s tugom objavljujem da ću morati objesiti kopačke o klin zbog medicinskog savjeta koji sam dobio. Međutim, ovo nije moje zbogom nogometu. Planiram ostati u ovom sportu u nekoj od uloga,"  kazao je mladić.

Vlasnik kluba Tony Bloom je istaknuo kako su svi na Falmer stadionu očajni zbog Enocka.

"Kao klub pružit ćemo mu svu ljubav, pomoć i potporu koju možemo kako bi se potpuno oporavio, ali i dok odlučuje o sljedećim koracima u svom životu," istaknuo je Bloom.

Mwepu je stigao u Brighton u srpnju prošle godine iz RB Salzburga čiji je član bio od 2017. uz jednu sezonu na posudbi u Lieferingu.

U domovini je igrao za NAPA Starse i Kafue Celtic. Za reprezentaciju Zambije nastupio je 23 puta i postigao šest golova.

Zambijski reprezentativac i branič Brighton & Hove Albiona Enock Mwepu (24) završio je karijeru zbog urođene srčane mane, objavio je engleski premierligaš.

Mwepu je prisiljen prekinuti svoju igračku karijeru nakon dijagnoze nasljednog srčanog oboljenja. Njegovo stanje se s vremenom može pogoršati i izložilo bi Enocka izuzetno visokom riziku od potencijalno smrtonosnog srčanog udara ako bi nastavio igrati natjecateljski nogomet, poručili su iz kluba na svojim stranicama.

"Neki snovi jednostavno moraju završiti i s tugom objavljujem da ću morati objesiti kopačke o klin zbog medicinskog savjeta koji sam dobio. Međutim, ovo nije moje zbogom nogometu. Planiram ostati u ovom sportu u nekoj od uloga,"  kazao je mladić.

Vlasnik kluba Tony Bloom je istaknuo kako su svi na Falmer stadionu očajni zbog Enocka.

"Kao klub pružit ćemo mu svu ljubav, pomoć i potporu koju možemo kako bi se potpuno oporavio, ali i dok odlučuje o sljedećim koracima u svom životu," istaknuo je Bloom.

Mwepu je stigao u Brighton u srpnju prošle godine iz RB Salzburga čiji je član bio od 2017. uz jednu sezonu na posudbi u Lieferingu.

U domovini je igrao za NAPA Starse i Kafue Celtic. Za reprezentaciju Zambije nastupio je 23 puta i postigao šest golova.

Zambijski reprezentativac i branič Brighton & Hove Albiona Enock Mwepu (24) završio je karijeru zbog urođene srčane mane, objavio je engleski premierligaš.

Mwepu je prisiljen prekinuti svoju igračku karijeru nakon dijagnoze nasljednog srčanog oboljenja. Njegovo stanje se s vremenom može pogoršati i izložilo bi Enocka izuzetno visokom riziku od potencijalno smrtonosnog srčanog udara ako bi nastavio igrati natjecateljski nogomet, poručili su iz kluba na svojim stranicama.

"Neki snovi jednostavno moraju završiti i s tugom objavljujem da ću morati objesiti kopačke o klin zbog medicinskog savjeta koji sam dobio. Međutim, ovo nije moje zbogom nogometu. Planiram ostati u ovom sportu u nekoj od uloga,"  kazao je mladić.
