Proslavljeni talijanski biciklist Vincenzo Nibali (Trek-Segafredo) u ponedjeljak je odustao od daljnjeg nastupa na Tour de Franceu kako bi bio spreman za nastup na olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju.

Ponedjeljak je posljednji dan odmora za karavanu Toura, a Nibali je povukao planirani potez.

"Samo tako prestižna utrka kao što je ona olimpijska, može trkača odvesti s Toura, a Tokio je ove godine važan cilj za Nibalija", priopćili su iz momčadi 36-godišnjeg Talijana jednog od sedmorice biciklista koji su uspjeli osvojiti naslove pobjednika na sve tri Grand Tour utrke.

Nibali je 2010. osvojio španjolsku Vueltu, dvaput je pobijedio na domaćem Giru (2013., 2016.), a Tour de France je osvojio 2014.

No, Sicilijanac nikada nije napravio značajniji rezultat na olimpijskim igrama, iako će u Tokiju ubilježiti već svoj četvrti nastup. Najbolnije iskustvo imao je 2016. u Rio de Janeiru, gdje je bio u vodećoj skupini s još dvojicom biciklista, ali je 10 km prije cilja, u izglednoj situaciji za osvajanje odličja, pao i slomio ključnu kost.

Nibali je nastup na Igrama u Tokiju osigurao tek u protekla dva tjedna, dobrim nastupima i agresivnom vožnjom na Talijanskom nacionalnom prvenstvu te u početnim etapama Tour de Francea.

"Moja vožnja na Touru je bila drugačija u odnosu na prethodna izdanja, ali slična onoj iz 2016. uoči Rija. Bio je to idealan način da dosegnem najbolju formu za Tokio Imam dobar osjećaj, ali za utrku kao što je olimpijska, cijela momčad mora biti u vrhunskom izdanju", izjavio je Nibali.

Olimpijska cestovna utrka je na rasporedu 24. srpnja, šest dana nakon završetka Tour de Francea, a uz Nibalija su u talijansku reprezentaciju uvršteni Giulio Ciccone, Alberto Bettiol, Gianni Moscon i Damiano Caruso.

Proslavljeni talijanski biciklist Vincenzo Nibali (Trek-Segafredo) u ponedjeljak je odustao od daljnjeg nastupa na Tour de Franceu kako bi bio spreman za nastup na olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju.

Ponedjeljak je posljednji dan odmora za karavanu Toura, a Nibali je povukao planirani potez.

"Samo tako prestižna utrka kao što je ona olimpijska, može trkača odvesti s Toura, a Tokio je ove godine važan cilj za Nibalija", priopćili su iz momčadi 36-godišnjeg Talijana jednog od sedmorice biciklista koji su uspjeli osvojiti naslove pobjednika na sve tri Grand Tour utrke.

Nibali je 2010. osvojio španjolsku Vueltu, dvaput je pobijedio na domaćem Giru (2013., 2016.), a Tour de France je osvojio 2014.

No, Sicilijanac nikada nije napravio značajniji rezultat na olimpijskim igrama, iako će u Tokiju ubilježiti već svoj četvrti nastup. Najbolnije iskustvo imao je 2016. u Rio de Janeiru, gdje je bio u vodećoj skupini s još dvojicom biciklista, ali je 10 km prije cilja, u izglednoj situaciji za osvajanje odličja, pao i slomio ključnu kost.

Nibali je nastup na Igrama u Tokiju osigurao tek u protekla dva tjedna, dobrim nastupima i agresivnom vožnjom na Talijanskom nacionalnom prvenstvu te u početnim etapama Tour de Francea.

"Moja vožnja na Touru je bila drugačija u odnosu na prethodna izdanja, ali slična onoj iz 2016. uoči Rija. Bio je to idealan način da dosegnem najbolju formu za Tokio Imam dobar osjećaj, ali za utrku kao što je olimpijska, cijela momčad mora biti u vrhunskom izdanju", izjavio je Nibali.

Olimpijska cestovna utrka je na rasporedu 24. srpnja, šest dana nakon završetka Tour de Francea, a uz Nibalija su u talijansku reprezentaciju uvršteni Giulio Ciccone, Alberto Bettiol, Gianni Moscon i Damiano Caruso.

Talijan Nibali odustao od daljnjeg nastupa na Tour de Franceu kako bi bio spreman za Olimpijske igre

Proslavljeni talijanski biciklist Vincenzo Nibali (Trek-Segafredo) u ponedjeljak je odustao od daljnjeg nastupa na Tour de Franceu kako bi bio spreman za nastup na olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju.

Ponedjeljak je posljednji dan odmora za karavanu Toura, a Nibali je povukao planirani potez.

"Samo tako prestižna utrka kao što je ona olimpijska, može trkača odvesti s Toura, a Tokio je ove godine važan cilj za Nibalija", priopćili su iz momčadi 36-godišnjeg Talijana jednog od sedmorice biciklista koji su uspjeli osvojiti naslove pobjednika na sve tri Grand Tour utrke.

Nibali je 2010. osvojio španjolsku Vueltu, dvaput je pobijedio na domaćem Giru (2013., 2016.), a Tour de France je osvojio 2014.

No, Sicilijanac nikada nije napravio značajniji rezultat na olimpijskim igrama, iako će u Tokiju...
