Max Verstappen prvi put ili Lewis Hamilton osmi? 

Odluka o prvaku Formule 1 past će u nedjelju na posljednjoj utrci sezone u Abu Dhabiju (14 sati – prijenos Sportklub HD). A prije nego što će se pred njima upaliti zeleno svjetlo za start na stazi Yas Marina, Verstappen i Hamilton u zadnju utrku ući će potpuno poravnati, skupili su po 369,5 bodova. Po prvi put nakon čak 47 godina u zadnju utrku sezone dvojica vozača ući će bodovno poravnati, tek drugi put u povijesti.

Budu li poravnati i nakon Abu Dhabija prvak će biti Verstappen

Te 1974. godine dosad jedini put u 71 sezoni Formule 1 dvojica su vozača u zadnju utrku sezone ušli bodovno poravnati. Bili su to Emerson Fittipaldi (McLaren-Ford) i Clay Regazzoni (Ferrari). Titula prvaka otišla je u ruke Brazilca Fittipaldija kojem je četvrto mjesto bilo dovoljno za naslov jer je Švicarac Regazzoni zbog problema s bolidom završio na tek 11. mjestu, s čak četiri kruga zaostatka. Ne bude li kvarova na bolidima, ovo bi mogla biti najneizvjesnija završnica u povijesti F1.

Nažalost, ta odlučujuća utrka iz 1974. ne pamti se samo po tome. Na toj Velikoj nagradi SAD-a (staza Watkins Glen) poginuo je austrijski vozač Helmuth Koinigg (Surtees), u tek svojoj drugoj utrci F1. Nije imao nikakvih izgleda, zabio se u zaštitnu barijeru. Donji dio bolida prošao je kroz barijeru, a neiskusni Austrijanac je dekapitiran. Godinu ranije na istoj stazi u kvalifikacijama na vrlo sličan način poginuo je i Francuz Francois Cevert (Tyrell). Za iduću Veliku nagradu na spornom dijelu staze dodana je jedna šikana.

Posljednjih sezona zadnja utrka odlučivala je o prvaku često, osam puta između 2003. i 2016. godine, ali uvijek je netko s bodovnom prednošću ulazio u utrku. U slučaju da ni Nizozemac (majka mu je Belgijka, tamo je i rođen, otac Jos bivši je vozač F1) ni Englez ne osvoje bodove titula će pripasti Verstappenu koji ima devet ovosezonskih pobjeda, naspram Hamiltonovih osam.

Vozač koji završi bolje plasiran osvojit će naslov, osim u slučaju da Hamilton završi deveti, a Verstappen deseti te uz to osvoji dodatni bod za najbrži krug. Naime, u tom scenariju obojica bi osvojila ukupno po dva boda i prvak bi po prvi put bio Verstappen. Bonus bod za najbrži krug se osvaja samo u slučaju da je vozač koji ga je ostvario među osvajačima bodova, u top deset.

Mnogi su se zbog tog mogućeg scenarija prisjetili raspleta kada se svojedobno vodeći Ayrton Senna (devet bodova prednosti) zabio u jedinog rivala za naslov Alaina Prosta u zadnjoj utrci sezone u Suzuki 1990. godine. Takvim raspletom Brazilac je osigurao naslov prvaka jer su obojica ostala bez plasmana. Godinu ranije ta dva vozača također su se sudarila na istoj stazi.

Hamiltonu (36) je ovo velika prilika da postane prvi vozač u povijesti s osam naslova prvaka (Michael Schumacher također ima sedam), Verstappenu (24) šansa za prvi. Ove sezone njih dvojica vode vrlo izjednačenu bitku prepunu dramatičnih preokreta, kontroverzi zbog kazni. Baš takva je bila i posljednja utrka u Saudijskoj Arabiji nakon koje su se s obje strane slijevale optužbe. Jedna strana se žalila kao da je Verstappen vozio kao Mad Max, a druga da prilikom dodjeljivanja kazni nisu baš svi jednaki.

Nakon što je ove sezone Red Bull napravio veliki iskorak u odnosu na prošlu, iskorak, ali u negativnom smjeru dobilo je i rivalstvo ova dva vozača koji su u potpuno različitim fazama karijera. Na strani Hamiltona je iskustvo, na strani Verstappena veća glad, spremnost na rizik. U svakom slučaju Hamilton se vratio iz vrlo teške situacije i pobjedama u zadnje tri utrke (Verstappen je svaki put bio odmah iza njega) odveo je sezonu u foto finiš, nakon što je Nizozemac imao 19 bodova prednosti.

U sjeni ove nevjerojatno neizvjesne borbe vodit će se i bitka za konstruktorski naslov. U zadnju utrku sezone Mercedes ulazi s velikih 28 bodova više od Red Bulla. Maksimalan broj bodova koji jedna momčad može osvojiti u Abu Dhabiju je 44. Podsjetimo, najbrži bolid osvaja 25 bodova, pa idući 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 i deseti 1 bod. Neki vozači i timovi, pa tako i dvojac koji će u obje kategorije odlučivati o najboljem, nema u kategoriji osvojenih bodova cijeli broj, jer je bizarna Velika nagrada Belgije zbog vremenskih neprilika (kiše) prekinuta i vozači (momčadi) su dobili po polovinu bodova.

Max Verstappen prvi put ili Lewis Hamilton osmi? 

Odluka o prvaku Formule 1 past će u nedjelju na posljednjoj utrci sezone u Abu Dhabiju (14 sati – prijenos Sportklub HD). A prije nego što će se pred njima upaliti zeleno svjetlo za start na stazi Yas Marina, Verstappen i Hamilton u zadnju utrku ući će potpuno poravnati, skupili su po 369,5 bodova. Po prvi put nakon čak 47 godina u zadnju utrku sezone dvojica vozača ući će bodovno poravnati, tek drugi put u povijesti.

Budu li poravnati i nakon Abu Dhabija prvak će biti Verstappen

Te 1974. godine dosad jedini put u 71 sezoni Formule 1 dvojica su vozača u zadnju utrku sezone ušli bodovno poravnati. Bili su to Emerson Fittipaldi (McLaren-Ford) i Clay Regazzoni (Ferrari). Titula prvaka otišla je u ruke Brazilca Fittipaldija kojem je četvrto mjesto bilo dovoljno za naslov jer je Švicarac Regazzoni zbog problema s bolidom završio na tek 11. mjestu, s čak četiri kruga zaostatka. Ne bude li kvarova na bolidima, ovo bi mogla biti najneizvjesnija završnica u povijesti F1.

Nažalost, ta odlučujuća utrka iz 1974. ne pamti se samo po tome. Na toj Velikoj nagradi SAD-a (staza Watkins Glen) poginuo je austrijski vozač Helmuth Koinigg (Surtees), u tek svojoj drugoj utrci F1. Nije imao nikakvih izgleda, zabio se u zaštitnu barijeru. Donji dio bolida prošao je kroz barijeru, a neiskusni Austrijanac je dekapitiran. Godinu ranije na istoj stazi u kvalifikacijama na vrlo sličan način poginuo je i Francuz Francois Cevert (Tyrell). Za iduću Veliku nagradu na spornom dijelu staze dodana je jedna šikana.

Posljednjih sezona zadnja utrka odlučivala je o prvaku često, osam puta između 2003. i 2016. godine, ali uvijek je netko s bodovnom prednošću ulazio u utrku. U slučaju da ni Nizozemac (majka mu je Belgijka, tamo je i rođen, otac Jos bivši je vozač F1) ni Englez ne osvoje bodove titula će pripasti Verstappenu koji ima devet ovosezonskih pobjeda, naspram Hamiltonovih osam.

Vozač koji završi bolje plasiran osvojit će naslov, osim u slučaju da Hamilton završi deveti, a Verstappen deseti te uz to osvoji dodatni bod za najbrži krug. Naime, u tom scenariju obojica bi osvojila ukupno po dva boda i prvak bi po prvi put bio Verstappen. Bonus bod za najbrži krug se osvaja samo u slučaju da je vozač koji ga je ostvario među osvajačima bodova, u top deset.

Mnogi su se zbog tog mogućeg scenarija prisjetili raspleta kada se svojedobno vodeći Ayrton Senna (devet bodova prednosti) zabio u jedinog rivala za naslov Alaina Prosta u zadnjoj utrci sezone u Suzuki 1990. godine. Takvim raspletom Brazilac je osigurao naslov prvaka jer su obojica ostala bez plasmana. Godinu ranije ta dva vozača također su se sudarila na istoj stazi.

Hamiltonu (36) je ovo velika prilika da postane prvi vozač u povijesti s osam naslova prvaka (Michael Schumacher također ima sedam), Verstappenu (24) šansa za prvi. Ove sezone njih dvojica vode vrlo izjednačenu bitku prepunu dramatičnih preokreta, kontroverzi zbog kazni. Baš takva je bila i posljednja utrka u Saudijskoj Arabiji nakon koje su se s obje strane slijevale optužbe. Jedna strana se žalila kao da je Verstappen vozio kao Mad Max, a druga da prilikom dodjeljivanja kazni nisu baš svi jednaki.

Nakon što je ove sezone Red Bull napravio veliki iskorak u odnosu na prošlu, iskorak, ali u negativnom smjeru dobilo je i rivalstvo ova dva vozača koji su u potpuno različitim fazama karijera. Na strani Hamiltona je iskustvo, na strani Verstappena veća glad, spremnost na rizik. U svakom slučaju Hamilton se vratio iz vrlo teške situacije i pobjedama u zadnje tri utrke (Verstappen je svaki put bio odmah iza njega) odveo je sezonu u foto finiš, nakon što je Nizozemac imao 19 bodova prednosti.

U sjeni ove nevjerojatno neizvjesne borbe vodit će se i bitka za konstruktorski naslov. U zadnju utrku sezone Mercedes ulazi s velikih 28 bodova više od Red Bulla. Maksimalan broj bodova koji jedna momčad može osvojiti u Abu Dhabiju je 44. Podsjetimo, najbrži bolid osvaja 25 bodova, pa idući 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 i deseti 1 bod. Neki vozači i timovi, pa tako i dvojac koji će u obje kategorije odlučivati o najboljem, nema u kategoriji osvojenih bodova cijeli broj, jer je bizarna Velika nagrada Belgije zbog vremenskih neprilika (kiše) prekinuta i vozači (momčadi) su dobili po polovinu bodova.
