Legendarni slovački hokejaš Zdeno Chara u dobi od 45 godina napokon je odlučio okončati svoju igračku karijeru tijekom koje je čak 24 sezone bio član NHL-a.  

Službeno, Chara će zaokružiti broj sezona na 25 jer je u utorak potpisao jedndnevni ugovor s Boston Bruinsima, momčadi u kojoj je i proveo najveći dio svoje karijere, kako bi se umirovio kao njihov član.

Zbog svoje visine od 206 centimetara, Chara je bio prepoznatljiv na terenu te je nosio nadimak "Veliki Z". Sa 1680 doigranih utakmica u ligaškom dijelu sezone Chara je postao branič s najviše nastupa u povijesti NHL-a, a upisao je 209 pogodaka te 471 asistenciju.

Na NHL draftu 1996. godine izabrali su ga New York Islandersi za koje je igrao do 2001. godine. Slijedila je epizoda u Ottawa Senatorsima iz kojih je 2006. preselio u Boston Bruinse za koje je igrao sve do 2020. godine te je 2011. osvojio naslov prvaka i to kao kapetan momčadi. Posljednje dvije sezone proveo je u Washington Capitalsima. Posljednju utakmicu odigrao je 29. travnja te je tada postigao i pogodak.

S reprezentacijom Slovačke Chara je osvojio dvije srebrne medalje na svijetskim prvenstvima, 2000. i 2012. godine.

Legendarni slovački hokejaš Zdeno Chara u dobi od 45 godina napokon je odlučio okončati svoju igračku karijeru tijekom koje je čak 24 sezone bio član NHL-a.  

Službeno, Chara će zaokružiti broj sezona na 25 jer je u utorak potpisao jedndnevni ugovor s Boston Bruinsima, momčadi u kojoj je i proveo najveći dio svoje karijere, kako bi se umirovio kao njihov član.

Zbog svoje visine od 206 centimetara, Chara je bio prepoznatljiv na terenu te je nosio nadimak "Veliki Z". Sa 1680 doigranih utakmica u ligaškom dijelu sezone Chara je postao branič s najviše nastupa u povijesti NHL-a, a upisao je 209 pogodaka te 471 asistenciju.

Na NHL draftu 1996. godine izabrali su ga New York Islandersi za koje je igrao do 2001. godine. Slijedila je epizoda u Ottawa Senatorsima iz kojih je 2006. preselio u Boston Bruinse za koje je igrao sve do 2020. godine te je 2011. osvojio naslov prvaka i to kao kapetan momčadi. Posljednje dvije sezone proveo je u Washington Capitalsima. Posljednju utakmicu odigrao je 29. travnja te je tada postigao i pogodak.

S reprezentacijom Slovačke Chara je osvojio dvije srebrne medalje na svijetskim prvenstvima, 2000. i 2012. godine.

Legenda rekla zbogom: slavni Slovak okončao karijeru u NHL-u nakon 24 sezone

Legendarni slovački hokejaš Zdeno Chara u dobi od 45 godina napokon je odlučio okončati svoju igračku karijeru tijekom koje je čak 24 sezone bio član NHL-a.  

Službeno, Chara će zaokružiti broj sezona na 25 jer je u utorak potpisao jedndnevni ugovor s Boston Bruinsima, momčadi u kojoj je i proveo najveći dio svoje karijere, kako bi se umirovio kao njihov član.

Zbog svoje visine od 206 centimetara, Chara je bio prepoznatljiv na terenu te je nosio nadimak "Veliki Z". Sa 1680 doigranih utakmica u ligaškom dijelu sezone Chara je postao branič s najviše nastupa u povijesti NHL-a, a upisao je 209 pogodaka te 471 asistenciju.

Na NHL draftu 1996. godine izabrali su ga New York Islandersi za koje je igrao do 2001. godine. Slijedila je epizoda u Ottawa Senatorsima iz kojih je 2006....
