Milan Karakaš teško da je mogao zamisliti bolji početak karijere glavnog trenera košarkaša Splita. 

Skupio je već 11 pobjeda uz samo dva poraza, međutim još uvijek nije napravio ništa. Barem gledajući dugoročno u smislu ispunjenja ovosezonskih ciljeva. I u tome se kriju njegovi sljedeći, najzahtjevniji izazovi.

Neki su nakon imenovanja mladog stratega bili skeptični plašeći se da je Karakaš previše “zelen” da bi vodio momčad s nekoliko prekaljenih igrača poput Roka Ukića, no za sada sve ide gotovo savršeno. Karakaš se sjajno uklopio, igrači prihvaćaju njegove ideje, a sve prati i rezultat. Karakaš je pobijedio Goricu, čak tri puta Cibonu i iznenadio Megu na Gripama, a izgubio je samo od Crvene zvezde u Splitu i Mornara u Baru, dakle od ponajboljih momčadi regije. A ni tu se njegovi momci nisu osramotili, dapače.

Čak i kada “žuti” ne briljiraju, pobjeđuju, kao što je bio slučaj protiv Osijeka, Šibenika, Zaboka i Alkara. Karakaš je, dakle, još bez kiksa i to je svakako ohrabrujuće s obzirom na već solidan uzorak utakmica.

Ovaj Split ima širinu kadra pa Karakaš na klupi ima u svakoj utakmici nekoliko različitih solucija, iako je jasno kako su se Luković, Ukić i Babić nametnuli kao lideri. Kako kvalitetom, tako i iskustvom. Iz gotovo svake tijesne završnice Split je izašao kao pobjednik, što je pokazatelj mentalne čvrstine i samouvjerenosti igrača.

Kako je i sam trener priznao nakon pobjede nad Cibonom prekjučer, u njegovu sastavu još ima rezervi. “Žuti” su se tek vratili nakon pauze zbog Covida-19 i za sada izgleda kako nema ozbiljnih posljedica u smislu gubitka forme, protiv Cibone nije bilo Perasovića i Čampare, Mesiček bi se ubrzo trebao vratiti, a i Đoković još nije na sto posto. Sve to skupa zalog je za optimizam, odnosno vjeru da bi taj novi level Split mogao “otključati” u nadolazećem, najvažnijem dijelu sezone.

Koliko god možda čudno zvučalo, nadareni strateg još nije napravio ništa jer ciljevi još nisu ispunjeni. Naime, slijede mu dvije ključne utakmice za ostanak u ABA Ligi - u petak 16. travnja protiv Krke u Novom Mestu i u ponedjeljak 19. travnja protiv Borca na Gripama. Traži se barem jedna pobjeda, a s obje bi Split svakako izbjegao stres dodatnih kvalifikacija za ostanak u elitnom regionalnom društvu.

A onda, nakon raspleta ABA Lige, Splitu slijedi doigravanje za prvaka Hrvatske u kojem ima najveće moguće ambicije. To je jedan od glavnih razloga zbog čega se ove sezone stvorila moćna momčad s Ukićem, Babićem, Marićem, kvalitetnim inozemnim pojačanjima Lukovićem, Mesičekom, Đokovićem i Čamparom... Prva je šansa za trofej propuštena u Omišu u finalu Kupa Krešimira Ćosića protiv Zadra, pa sada ostaje prvenstvo. Naravno da će se nešto pitati “vukove” i Zadrane, možda i Goricu, ali ne treba bježati od toga da Split želi naslov prvaka i da bi bio razočaran kada u tome ne bi uspio. Pobjeda nad Cibonom u ponedjeljak bila je koračić u tom pravcu jer se čini kako Split sada ima osigurano barem drugo mjesto, no prednost domaćeg terena ionako je relativan pojam kad već nema publike.

Navijači trepere od uzbuđenja, uvjereni da Karakaš može odvesti “žute” do toliko željenog trofeja nakon dugog niza godina. I zaista, Karakaš zaslužuje pohvale za sjajan start, no najvažnije bitke tek su na obzoru i one će odrediti konačnu ocjenu njegova rada.

Milan Karakaš teško da je mogao zamisliti bolji početak karijere glavnog trenera košarkaša Splita. 

Skupio je već 11 pobjeda uz samo dva poraza, međutim još uvijek nije napravio ništa. Barem gledajući dugoročno u smislu ispunjenja ovosezonskih ciljeva. I u tome se kriju njegovi sljedeći, najzahtjevniji izazovi.

Neki su nakon imenovanja mladog stratega bili skeptični plašeći se da je Karakaš previše “zelen” da bi vodio momčad s nekoliko prekaljenih igrača poput Roka Ukića, no za sada sve ide gotovo savršeno. Karakaš se sjajno uklopio, igrači prihvaćaju njegove ideje, a sve prati i rezultat. Karakaš je pobijedio Goricu, čak tri puta Cibonu i iznenadio Megu na Gripama, a izgubio je samo od Crvene zvezde u Splitu i Mornara u Baru, dakle od ponajboljih momčadi regije. A ni tu se njegovi momci nisu osramotili, dapače.

Čak i kada “žuti” ne briljiraju, pobjeđuju, kao što je bio slučaj protiv Osijeka, Šibenika, Zaboka i Alkara. Karakaš je, dakle, još bez kiksa i to je svakako ohrabrujuće s obzirom na već solidan uzorak utakmica.

Ovaj Split ima širinu kadra pa Karakaš na klupi ima u svakoj utakmici nekoliko različitih solucija, iako je jasno kako su se Luković, Ukić i Babić nametnuli kao lideri. Kako kvalitetom, tako i iskustvom. Iz gotovo svake tijesne završnice Split je izašao kao pobjednik, što je pokazatelj mentalne čvrstine i samouvjerenosti igrača.

Kako je i sam trener priznao nakon pobjede nad Cibonom prekjučer, u njegovu sastavu još ima rezervi. “Žuti” su se tek vratili nakon pauze zbog Covida-19 i za sada izgleda kako nema ozbiljnih posljedica u smislu gubitka forme, protiv Cibone nije bilo Perasovića i Čampare, Mesiček bi se ubrzo trebao vratiti, a i Đoković još nije na sto posto. Sve to skupa zalog je za optimizam, odnosno vjeru da bi taj novi level Split mogao “otključati” u nadolazećem, najvažnijem dijelu sezone.

Koliko god možda čudno zvučalo, nadareni strateg još nije napravio ništa jer ciljevi još nisu ispunjeni. Naime, slijede mu dvije ključne utakmice za ostanak u ABA Ligi - u petak 16. travnja protiv Krke u Novom Mestu i u ponedjeljak 19. travnja protiv Borca na Gripama. Traži se barem jedna pobjeda, a s obje bi Split svakako izbjegao stres dodatnih kvalifikacija za ostanak u elitnom regionalnom društvu.

A onda, nakon raspleta ABA Lige, Splitu slijedi doigravanje za prvaka Hrvatske u kojem ima najveće moguće ambicije. To je jedan od glavnih razloga zbog čega se ove sezone stvorila moćna momčad s Ukićem, Babićem, Marićem, kvalitetnim inozemnim pojačanjima Lukovićem, Mesičekom, Đokovićem i Čamparom... Prva je šansa za trofej propuštena u Omišu u finalu Kupa Krešimira Ćosića protiv Zadra, pa sada ostaje prvenstvo. Naravno da će se nešto pitati “vukove” i Zadrane, možda i Goricu, ali ne treba bježati od toga da Split želi naslov prvaka i da bi bio razočaran kada u tome ne bi uspio. Pobjeda nad Cibonom u ponedjeljak bila je koračić u tom pravcu jer se čini kako Split sada ima osigurano barem drugo mjesto, no prednost domaćeg terena ionako je relativan pojam kad već nema publike.

Navijači trepere od uzbuđenja, uvjereni da Karakaš može odvesti “žute” do toliko željenog trofeja nakon dugog niza godina. I zaista, Karakaš zaslužuje pohvale za sjajan start, no najvažnije bitke tek su na obzoru i one će odrediti konačnu ocjenu njegova rada.
