U telefonskom intervjuu s novinarom NBC Sportsa K.C. Johnsonom, Toni Kukoč se osvrnuo na prve dvije epizode dokumentarca "The Last Dance" o šampionskoj sezoni Bullsa. Kukoč u prva dva nastavka nije dobio gotovo uopće prostora, a bivši hrvatski reprezentativac ističe kako mu se serijal nije toliko svidio, piše Jutarnji list.

- Nadam se da će ostale epizode biti vedrije i više slaviti košarku nego propitkivati tko je za što kriv i zašto nisu osvojili osam ili deset naslova. Svijet je bio sretan dok se to događalo, ne znam na koga se ljudi sada ljute. Cijenim sve ono što smo radili na treningu, ono što smo radili na utakmicama. Momčad je naporno radila i bila posvećena onome što treba napraviti. Govorimo o ljudima koji su osvojili šest naslova u osam godina i sada u tome tražimo negativnu notu - rekao je Kukoč.

Hrvatski košarkaš je bio ključan dio te momčadi Bullsa koja je stigla do drugog "three-peata", dok danas obavlja dužnost savjetnika predsjednika kluba Michaela Reinsdorfa. Kukoč je ispričao i kako je došlo do njegovog dolaska u Chicago, a na kojem je inzistirao pokojni GM Jerry Krause.

- Tri godine me uvjeravao da dođem, govorio mi kako imaju nevjerojatnog trenera, sjajne starije igrače poput Paxsona i Cartwrighta, nevjerojatne atletične igrače poput Jordana i Pippena koji mogu što god požele... Govorio je o svemu s nevjerojatnom radošću. Rekao mi je koliko bi ludo bilo da ja vodim kontru, s jedne strane trči Jordan, a s druge Pippen. Nikad nije govorio kako je on složio tu momčad i pripisivao si zasluge, samo je pričao koliko su Bullsi sjajna organizacija - rekao je Kukoč, dodavši i kako nije znao da su odnosi između trenera Phila Jacksona i Krausea bili toliko zategnuti.

- Možda sam previše gledao svoja posla. Znaš da se neke stvari događaju oko tebe, ali svakog dana odeš na trening, a onda se vratiš kući obitelji i gledaš svoja posla. Nisam toliko obraćao pažnju na to. Bilo je jasno da Michael neće igrati za drugog trenera, baš kao ni Scottie i tu je bio kraj. Nadao sam se da će se svi složiti da se trebamo vratiti i ponovno braniti naslov, ali sada vidim da su neki odnosi došli do točke s koje nema povratka i to je tužno. Ali zajedničko vrijeme koje smo proveli zajedno bilo je sjajno - pojasnio je Toni.

U telefonskom intervjuu s novinarom NBC Sportsa K.C. Johnsonom, Toni Kukoč se osvrnuo na prve dvije epizode dokumentarca "The Last Dance" o šampionskoj sezoni Bullsa. Kukoč u prva dva nastavka nije dobio gotovo uopće prostora, a bivši hrvatski reprezentativac ističe kako mu se serijal nije toliko svidio, piše Jutarnji list.

- Nadam se da će ostale epizode biti vedrije i više slaviti košarku nego propitkivati tko je za što kriv i zašto nisu osvojili osam ili deset naslova. Svijet je bio sretan dok se to događalo, ne znam na koga se ljudi sada ljute. Cijenim sve ono što smo radili na treningu, ono što smo radili na utakmicama. Momčad je naporno radila i bila posvećena onome što treba napraviti. Govorimo o ljudima koji su osvojili šest naslova u osam godina i sada u tome tražimo negativnu notu - rekao je Kukoč.

Hrvatski košarkaš je bio ključan dio te momčadi Bullsa koja je stigla do drugog "three-peata", dok danas obavlja dužnost savjetnika predsjednika kluba Michaela Reinsdorfa. Kukoč je ispričao i kako je došlo do njegovog dolaska u Chicago, a na kojem je inzistirao pokojni GM Jerry Krause.

- Tri godine me uvjeravao da dođem, govorio mi kako imaju nevjerojatnog trenera, sjajne starije igrače poput Paxsona i Cartwrighta, nevjerojatne atletične igrače poput Jordana i Pippena koji mogu što god požele... Govorio je o svemu s nevjerojatnom radošću. Rekao mi je koliko bi ludo bilo da ja vodim kontru, s jedne strane trči Jordan, a s druge Pippen. Nikad nije govorio kako je on složio tu momčad i pripisivao si zasluge, samo je pričao koliko su Bullsi sjajna organizacija - rekao je Kukoč, dodavši i kako nije znao da su odnosi između trenera Phila Jacksona i Krausea bili toliko zategnuti.

- Možda sam previše gledao svoja posla. Znaš da se neke stvari događaju oko tebe, ali svakog dana odeš na trening, a onda se vratiš kući obitelji i gledaš svoja posla. Nisam toliko obraćao pažnju na to. Bilo je jasno da Michael neće igrati za drugog trenera, baš kao ni Scottie i tu je bio kraj. Nadao sam se da će se svi složiti da se trebamo vratiti i ponovno braniti naslov, ali sada vidim da su neki odnosi došli do točke s koje nema povratka i to je tužno. Ali zajedničko vrijeme koje smo proveli zajedno bilo je sjajno - pojasnio je Toni.

U telefonskom intervjuu s novinarom NBC Sportsa K.C. Johnsonom, Toni Kukoč se osvrnuo na prve dvije epizode dokumentarca "The Last Dance" o šampionskoj sezoni Bullsa. Kukoč u prva dva nastavka nije dobio gotovo uopće prostora, a bivši hrvatski reprezentativac ističe kako mu se serijal nije toliko svidio, piše Jutarnji list.

- Nadam se da će ostale epizode biti vedrije i više slaviti košarku nego propitkivati tko je za što kriv i zašto nisu osvojili osam ili deset naslova. Svijet je bio sretan dok se to događalo, ne znam na koga se ljudi sada ljute. Cijenim sve ono što smo radili na treningu, ono što smo radili na utakmicama.
