Košarkaši Sjedinjenih Američkih Država osvojili su četvrtu uzastopnu zlatnu medalju na Olimpijskim igrama nakon što su u finalu pobijedili Francusku sa 87-82.

Za SAD je to ukupno 16. zlato, SSSR je dva puta bio olimpijski pobjednik, a po jednom Argentina i Jugoslavija.

Posljednji put američki košarkaši su izgubili finale 2004. u Ateni od Argentine. Francuzima je to pak treća olimpijska medalja pri čemu treće srebro nakon što su drugi bili i 2000. i 1948.

Francuzi se mogu pohvaliti kako su jedini uspjeli pobijediti SAD na ovom turniru, ali ne u finalu već u prvom kolu kada su slavili 83-76.

Nakon uvodnog poraza SAD su nanizali pet pobjeda (Iran, Češka, Španjolska, Australija, Francuska) za ukupno slavlje.
Francuska je bolje otvorila finale, povela je 10-4 i 12-6, no odabranici Gregga Popovicha su do konca četvrtine okrenuli rezultat u svoju korist (22-18) i više nisu ispuštali prednost.

U trećoj četvrtini imali su i 14 koševa viška (71-57). Francuska je u završnici zaprijetila smanjivši na tri koša minusa 10 sekundi prije kraja, no više od toga nije išlo. Na koncu je presudilo čak 18 francuskih izgubljenih lopti, te 11 promašenih slobodnih bacanja.

U pobjedničkim redovima najefikasniji su bili Kevin Durant sa 29 koševa i šest skokova, Jayson Tatum sa 19 koševa i sedam skokova, te Damian Lillard i Jrue Holiday sa po 11 koševa.

Kod Francuza Evan Fournier i Rudy Gobert su bili najefikasniji sa po 16 koševa, dok je Guerschon Yabusele ubacio 13 koševa.

U susretu za broncu kasnije se sastaju Slovenija i Australija.

Košarkaši Sjedinjenih Američkih Država osvojili su četvrtu uzastopnu zlatnu medalju na Olimpijskim igrama nakon što su u finalu pobijedili Francusku sa 87-82.

Za SAD je to ukupno 16. zlato, SSSR je dva puta bio olimpijski pobjednik, a po jednom Argentina i Jugoslavija.

Posljednji put američki košarkaši su izgubili finale 2004. u Ateni od Argentine. Francuzima je to pak treća olimpijska medalja pri čemu treće srebro nakon što su drugi bili i 2000. i 1948.

Francuzi se mogu pohvaliti kako su jedini uspjeli pobijediti SAD na ovom turniru, ali ne u finalu već u prvom kolu kada su slavili 83-76.

Nakon uvodnog poraza SAD su nanizali pet pobjeda (Iran, Češka, Španjolska, Australija, Francuska) za ukupno slavlje.
Francuska je bolje otvorila finale, povela je 10-4 i 12-6, no odabranici Gregga Popovicha su do konca četvrtine okrenuli rezultat u svoju korist (22-18) i više nisu ispuštali prednost.

U trećoj četvrtini imali su i 14 koševa viška (71-57). Francuska je u završnici zaprijetila smanjivši na tri koša minusa 10 sekundi prije kraja, no više od toga nije išlo. Na koncu je presudilo čak 18 francuskih izgubljenih lopti, te 11 promašenih slobodnih bacanja.

U pobjedničkim redovima najefikasniji su bili Kevin Durant sa 29 koševa i šest skokova, Jayson Tatum sa 19 koševa i sedam skokova, te Damian Lillard i Jrue Holiday sa po 11 koševa.

Kod Francuza Evan Fournier i Rudy Gobert su bili najefikasniji sa po 16 koševa, dok je Guerschon Yabusele ubacio 13 koševa.

U susretu za broncu kasnije se sastaju Slovenija i Australija.

Košarkaši Sjedinjenih Američkih Država osvojili su četvrtu uzastopnu zlatnu medalju na Olimpijskim igrama nakon što su u finalu pobijedili Francusku sa 87-82.

Za SAD je to ukupno 16. zlato, SSSR je dva puta bio olimpijski pobjednik, a po jednom Argentina i Jugoslavija.

Posljednji put američki košarkaši su izgubili finale 2004. u Ateni od Argentine. Francuzima je to pak treća olimpijska medalja pri čemu treće srebro nakon što su drugi bili i 2000. i 1948.
