Raj na zemlji – upravo te riječi najbolje opisuju osjećaje koji su se tijekom nekoliko proteklih nedjeljnih večeri budili kod vjernika koji misna slavlja slave na jednoj od ekskluzivnijih, a pomalo zaboravljenih gradskih lokacija, ispred crkvice svetog Jeronima na Marjanu.
Naime, budući da se ove godine navršava 1600. obljetnica smrti sv. Jeronima (420. – 2020.), varoška župa svetoga Križa večernje nedjeljne mise u srpnju i kolovozu slavi na južnim padinama Marjana. Samo još 26. srpnja misa će se slaviti u 20 sati, dok će u kolovoskim nedjeljama euharistijsko slavlje započinjati u 19 sati.
S pogledom na more, Kašjune, Čiovo i Šoltu, molitva u vrijeme zalaska sunca, u tako jedinstvenom okružju, neponovljivo je duhovno iskustvo, svjedoče nam vjernice koje su imali priliku, kako su nam opisale, daleko od gradskih gužvi osjetiti rajski mir i spokoj. Iako su se obratile Slobodnoj Dalmaciji kako bi što više ljudi saznalo za ovu lijepu priliku, željele su ostati anonimne.
Prilika je ovo, poručuju, i da bi se razgledala unutrašnjost crkvice koja nije često otvorena.
Mnogi Splićani nikada nisu vidjeli njezin interijer, pa ne znaju da krije oltar s reljefima iz 1480. koji je izradio Andrija Aleši, a prikazuje svetog Ivana Krstitelja, svetog Jeronima i Antuna Pustinjaka, dok je u luneti prikazana Pieta. U crkvi se nalazi i nekoliko slika domaćih renesansnih majstora, a u njoj je pokopan splitski kanonik Jeronim Natalis.
Ova crkva nekada je imala i svoju bratovštinu. Povijesni izvori kažu kako bi, kad bi bratimi sv. Jere slavili svoga zaštitnika 30. rujna, oltar i prostor oko crkve obavezno lijepo ukrasili, a u rano jutro vjernici su se okupljali na svetoj misi. Za tu prigodu pripremila bi se domaća jela, a nezaobilazna je bila i pjesma, prvenstveno "Puče moj" i "Merjane, Merjane".
Stoljećima znatiželju posjetitelja raspiruje i obližnja pećina, odnosno pustinjački stan, oratorij sv. Cirijaka, sveca koji je prema legendi Dioklecijanovu kćer Valeriju oslobodio od demona. Bogato vjersko i kulturno naslijeđe, jedinstvena lokacija, kao i misterij pustinjačkog života osiguravali su ovom svetištu, koji danas ima status nepokretnog kulturnog dobra, mnoštvo hodočasnika kroz stoljeća.
Danas ih je, svi smo toga svjesni, znatno manje. Crkve po gradu još uvijek su pune, no moderna, globalna vremena donijela su nove pobožnosti. Tako će se danas u gradu pod Marjanom lako nabaviti molitvenici i devetnice svetaca iz svih krajeva svijeta, no morat ćete se dobro pomučiti želite li nabaviti onaj koji sadrži molitve svetomu Dujmu ili svetom Jeronimu.
– Grad se mijenja, nije to ništa neuobičajeno, no kako živimo u vremenima u kojima se sve brendira, žao nam je što se veća pozornost ne obraća na ono što je uistinu naša stoljetna baština, pobožnosti koje su se molile kroz stoljeća. Sveti Jeronim najpoznatiji je Dalmatinac, eto, u proteklih nekoliko godina okupilo se nas desetak žena, vjernica koje redovito, u vlastitom aranžmanu, hodočastimo marjanskim crkvicama.
A ova prilika je izvanredna! Nažalost, saznali smo za to sa zakašnjenjem jer nismo iz Velog Varoša, nadležne župe. Imaju sjajnog župnika, svaka mu čast, bilo bi baš lijepo kad bi Splićani prepoznali ovu priliku i hodočašćem i molitvom počastili dalmatinskog sveca – zaključuju naše sugovornice.

Raj na zemlji – upravo te riječi najbolje opisuju osjećaje koji su se tijekom nekoliko proteklih nedjeljnih večeri budili kod vjernika koji misna slavlja slave na jednoj od ekskluzivnijih, a pomalo zaboravljenih gradskih lokacija, ispred crkvice svetog Jeronima na Marjanu.
Naime, budući da se ove godine navršava 1600. obljetnica smrti sv. Jeronima (420. – 2020.), varoška župa svetoga Križa večernje nedjeljne mise u srpnju i kolovozu slavi na južnim padinama Marjana. Samo još 26. srpnja misa će se slaviti u 20 sati, dok će u kolovoskim nedjeljama euharistijsko slavlje započinjati u 19 sati.
S pogledom na more, Kašjune, Čiovo i Šoltu, molitva u vrijeme zalaska sunca, u tako jedinstvenom okružju, neponovljivo je duhovno iskustvo, svjedoče nam vjernice koje su imali priliku, kako su nam opisale, daleko od gradskih gužvi osjetiti rajski mir i spokoj. Iako su se obratile Slobodnoj Dalmaciji kako bi što više ljudi saznalo za ovu lijepu priliku, željele su ostati anonimne.
Prilika je ovo, poručuju, i da bi se razgledala unutrašnjost crkvice koja nije često otvorena.
Mnogi Splićani nikada nisu vidjeli njezin interijer, pa ne znaju da krije oltar s reljefima iz 1480. koji je izradio Andrija Aleši, a prikazuje svetog Ivana Krstitelja, svetog Jeronima i Antuna Pustinjaka, dok je u luneti prikazana Pieta. U crkvi se nalazi i nekoliko slika domaćih renesansnih majstora, a u njoj je pokopan splitski kanonik Jeronim Natalis.
Ova crkva nekada je imala i svoju bratovštinu. Povijesni izvori kažu kako bi, kad bi bratimi sv. Jere slavili svoga zaštitnika 30. rujna, oltar i prostor oko crkve obavezno lijepo ukrasili, a u rano jutro vjernici su se okupljali na svetoj misi. Za tu prigodu pripremila bi se domaća jela, a nezaobilazna je bila i pjesma, prvenstveno "Puče moj" i "Merjane, Merjane".
Stoljećima znatiželju posjetitelja raspiruje i obližnja pećina, odnosno pustinjački stan, oratorij sv. Cirijaka, sveca koji je prema legendi Dioklecijanovu kćer Valeriju oslobodio od demona. Bogato vjersko i kulturno naslijeđe, jedinstvena lokacija, kao i misterij pustinjačkog života osiguravali su ovom svetištu, koji danas ima status nepokretnog kulturnog dobra, mnoštvo hodočasnika kroz stoljeća.
Danas ih je, svi smo toga svjesni, znatno manje. Crkve po gradu još uvijek su pune, no moderna, globalna vremena donijela su nove pobožnosti. Tako će se danas u gradu pod Marjanom lako nabaviti molitvenici i devetnice svetaca iz svih krajeva svijeta, no morat ćete se dobro pomučiti želite li nabaviti onaj koji sadrži molitve svetomu Dujmu ili svetom Jeronimu.
– Grad se mijenja, nije to ništa neuobičajeno, no kako živimo u vremenima u kojima se sve brendira, žao nam je što se veća pozornost ne obraća na ono što je uistinu naša stoljetna baština, pobožnosti koje su se molile kroz stoljeća. Sveti Jeronim najpoznatiji je Dalmatinac, eto, u proteklih nekoliko godina okupilo se nas desetak žena, vjernica koje redovito, u vlastitom aranžmanu, hodočastimo marjanskim crkvicama.
A ova prilika je izvanredna! Nažalost, saznali smo za to sa zakašnjenjem jer nismo iz Velog Varoša, nadležne župe. Imaju sjajnog župnika, svaka mu čast, bilo bi baš lijepo kad bi Splićani prepoznali ovu priliku i hodočašćem i molitvom počastili dalmatinskog sveca – zaključuju naše sugovornice.
