Papa Frane pohvalio je zdravstvene radnike i kritizirao one koji prosvjeduju protiv ograničenja koja su nametnule vlade da zaustave širenje Covida-19. Njegova izjava ne bi bila osobito zanimljiva da nije dana za The New York Times i da nije izrečena samo nekoliko dana nakon što je u SAD-u Vrhovni sud srušio odluku o ograničavanju vjerskih službi kako bi se pandemija kontrolirala.

U tekstu se Franjo prisjeća perioda kad je bio ozbiljno bolestan od upale pluća u vrijeme dok je još bio mladić koji je studirao teologiju. Zbog toga je rekao kako ima osjećaj kako se ljudi s Covidom-19 osjećaju dok se bore disati na respiratoru.

Kao što je već i prije prepričavao, Frane piše kako se uspio tada izvući zahvaljujući sestrama koje su njegovu bolest razumjele bolje od liječnika i povećale mu dozu antibiotika i lijekova protiv bolova. Na njihovom primjeru shvatio je što to znači koristiti znanost, ali i znati kada ići dalje od nje, osluškivati pacijente kako bi se zadovoljile sve njihove potrebe. 

-Ozbiljna bolest koju sam proživio naučila me ovisiti o dobroti i mudrosti drugih, napisao je.

U nastavku je pohvalio zdravstvene radnike koji se tijekom pandemije brinu o bolesnicima, često uz velike osobne troškove, jer razumiju da je bolje živjeti kraći život služeći drugima nego duži koji se opire tom pozivu. Iako ovi, kako ih on naziva, 'sveci iz susjedstva' dobivaju pohvale šireg stanovništva, postoje i drugi koji prijetnju virusa nisu shvatili ozbiljno. 

Papa se zgrozio nad vladama koje su ignorirale bolne dokaze o sve češćim smrtnim ishodima, o neizbježnim dugotrajnim posljedicama koje zaraza može imati na ljude. Ljute ga i prosvjednici kojima smetaju mjere kao što je distanca i ograničavanje putovanja.

-Ponašaju se kao da mjere koje vlade moraju nametnuti za dobro svog naroda predstavljaju neku vrstu političkog napada na autonomiju ili osobnu slobodu! objašnjava Frane.

Podsjeti je da iako se koronavirus možda čini posebnim jer utječe na većinu čovječanstva, postoji i tisuću drugih kriza koje su jednako teške, ali možemo se pretvarati da ne postoje jer na nas ne utječu tako izravno. Među tim skrivenim virusima su klimatske promjene, izbjeglička kriza, glad i ratovi. Da bismo izašli iz ove krize bolji, moramo u svoje misli vratiti znanje da kao ljudi imamo zajedničko odredište, napisao je papa i za kraj dodao kako nas je pandemija naučila ipak jednoj pozitivnoj stvari, a to je da se nitko ne može spasiti sam i da svi ovisimo jedni o drugima.

Papa Frane pohvalio je zdravstvene radnike i kritizirao one koji prosvjeduju protiv ograničenja koja su nametnule vlade da zaustave širenje Covida-19. Njegova izjava ne bi bila osobito zanimljiva da nije dana za The New York Times i da nije izrečena samo nekoliko dana nakon što je u SAD-u Vrhovni sud srušio odluku o ograničavanju vjerskih službi kako bi se pandemija kontrolirala.

U tekstu se Franjo prisjeća perioda kad je bio ozbiljno bolestan od upale pluća u vrijeme dok je još bio mladić koji je studirao teologiju. Zbog toga je rekao kako ima osjećaj kako se ljudi s Covidom-19 osjećaju dok se bore disati na respiratoru.

Kao što je već i prije prepričavao, Frane piše kako se uspio tada izvući zahvaljujući sestrama koje su njegovu bolest razumjele bolje od liječnika i povećale mu dozu antibiotika i lijekova protiv bolova. Na njihovom primjeru shvatio je što to znači koristiti znanost, ali i znati kada ići dalje od nje, osluškivati pacijente kako bi se zadovoljile sve njihove potrebe. 

-Ozbiljna bolest koju sam proživio naučila me ovisiti o dobroti i mudrosti drugih, napisao je.

U nastavku je pohvalio zdravstvene radnike koji se tijekom pandemije brinu o bolesnicima, često uz velike osobne troškove, jer razumiju da je bolje živjeti kraći život služeći drugima nego duži koji se opire tom pozivu. Iako ovi, kako ih on naziva, 'sveci iz susjedstva' dobivaju pohvale šireg stanovništva, postoje i drugi koji prijetnju virusa nisu shvatili ozbiljno. 

Papa se zgrozio nad vladama koje su ignorirale bolne dokaze o sve češćim smrtnim ishodima, o neizbježnim dugotrajnim posljedicama koje zaraza može imati na ljude. Ljute ga i prosvjednici kojima smetaju mjere kao što je distanca i ograničavanje putovanja.

-Ponašaju se kao da mjere koje vlade moraju nametnuti za dobro svog naroda predstavljaju neku vrstu političkog napada na autonomiju ili osobnu slobodu! objašnjava Frane.

Podsjeti je da iako se koronavirus možda čini posebnim jer utječe na većinu čovječanstva, postoji i tisuću drugih kriza koje su jednako teške, ali možemo se pretvarati da ne postoje jer na nas ne utječu tako izravno. Među tim skrivenim virusima su klimatske promjene, izbjeglička kriza, glad i ratovi. Da bismo izašli iz ove krize bolji, moramo u svoje misli vratiti znanje da kao ljudi imamo zajedničko odredište, napisao je papa i za kraj dodao kako nas je pandemija naučila ipak jednoj pozitivnoj stvari, a to je da se nitko ne može spasiti sam i da svi ovisimo jedni o drugima.

Papa Frane pohvalio je zdravstvene radnike i kritizirao one koji prosvjeduju protiv ograničenja koja su nametnule vlade da zaustave širenje Covida-19. Njegova izjava ne bi bila osobito zanimljiva da nije dana za The New York Times i da nije izrečena samo nekoliko dana nakon što je u SAD-u Vrhovni sud srušio odluku o ograničavanju vjerskih službi kako bi se pandemija kontrolirala.

U tekstu se Franjo prisjeća perioda kad je bio ozbiljno bolestan od upale pluća u vrijeme dok je još bio mladić koji je studirao teologiju. Zbog toga je rekao kako ima osjećaj kako se ljudi s Covidom-19 osjećaju dok se bore disati na respiratoru.

Kao što je već i prije prepričavao, Frane piše kako se uspio tada izvući zahvaljujući sestrama koje su njegovu bolest razumjele bolje od liječnika...
