Koristite fraze kad vam treba pomoć

Roditeljstvo nosi brojne izazove, od dogovora kako ćete odgajati dijete do toga kako ćete podijeliti obveze, a uz sve to trebate biti strpljivi i puni ljubavi. Iako samohrane majke i očevi imaju puno više izazova, mnogi roditelji osjećaju da bolje odgajaju djecu kad njihov partner nije u blizini. Ima li istine u tome?

Odgovor na ovo važno pitanje dala je Tracy Dalgleish, klinička psihologinja i savjetnica za parove, piše Živim.

- To je zbunjujuće jer bismo trebali osjećati olakšanje i podršku u roditeljstvu kad je naš partner u blizini. Umjesto toga, naša pažnja često odmiče dopuštajući da se uvuku briga, tjeskoba i frustracije zbog neispunjenih očekivanja - objasnila je Tracy.

- Fokusirajte se na ono što možete kontrolirati - ne možete kontrolirati partnerove misli, osjećaje ili želje

- Odvojite vrijeme da budete sami s djecom - solo vrijeme obogaćuje naš individualni odnos sa svakim djetetom

- Razgovarajte s partnerom kad su djeca na spavanju

- Postavite granice - nemojte dopustiti da partnerovo raspoloženje utječe na vas

Što partneri mogu učiniti u izazovnim situacijama?

Iako je važno raditi na vlastitim osjećajima, isto tako je dobro razgovarati s partnerom o izazovima roditeljstva. Prije nego što dobiju djecu, većina ljudi razmišlja o idealnom roditeljstvu. Žele imati određeni stil i pravila koje će prenijeti na svoju djecu, ali zaborave na jednu stvar: drugog roditelja. To može biti nešto jednostavno poput hrane koju će djeca jesti ili kad mogu gledati televizor, do toga hoće li kažnjavati djecu. Nažalost, nemamo priliku testirati roditeljski stil partnera prije dolaska djece. I nijedan pristup nije nužno ispravan ili pogrešan. No, kada se parovi nađu u situaciji s dijametralno suprotnim stilovima roditeljstva, što mogu učiniti kako bi bili uspješni kao par i roditelji?

Jasno istaknite svoj stil odgoja

Iako se parovi ne moraju složiti u svemu, korisno je osvijestiti stil roditeljstva te kakva uvjerenja i navike donosite u svog doma. Kad to osvijestite, možete jasno odlučiti kakav roditelj želite biti.

- Roditelji s kojima radim možda su odgojeni u jednom stilu i žele to promijeniti - kaže Elaine Taylor-Klaus, certificirana profesionalna trenerica za roditelje.

Ono što je funkcioniralo u prošlosti možda nije najbolje za vašu obitelj.

- Djeca danas trebaju roditelje koji će komunicirati svjesnije i više surađivati - dodaje Taylor-Klaus.

Kritizirajte kasnije

Ako uočite da se vaše partner ponaša u suprotnosti s načinom na koji biste vi, pustite to dok ne budete mogli razgovarati jedan na jedan, predlaže Bonnie Harris, specijalistica za roditeljstvo i ponašanje djece.

Dodaje kako je za djecu bolje da ne svjedoče roditeljskim svađama. Također je korisno za partnerski odnos izbjeći kritiziranje drugog roditelja.

Koristite fraze kad vam treba pomoć

Već smo napomenuli kako nije dobro svađati se pred djecom niti kritizirati partnera. Međutim, možda vaš partner zaista treba spas iz situacije koja je izvan kontrole. Pronalaženje načina da signalizirate svoje potrebe u kaotičnoj situaciji može vam pomoći da surađujete.

- Moj suprug i ja koristili smo riječ ‘uže‘, što znači da trebamo pomoći u određenoj situaciji - rekla je Taylor-Klaus. Svoj kodnu riječ trebate čuvati u tajnosti od djece, ali možete ju koristiti pred djecom. Time ćete partneru dati do znanja da vam treba pomoć i da vas obuzimaju emocije. Nitko nije savršen pa nemojte ni pokušavati biti.

Parovi trebaju imati vrijeme za sebe

Zaštita i njegovanje odnosa treba biti visoko na listi prioriteta. Ako je moguće, jednom tjedno odite ne spoj. Naime, njegovanje odnosa ne treba biti opcija, zaista trebate pronaći vrijeme kako biste se povezali s partnerom dok djeca nisu prisutna. Naravno, ponekad možete naići na logističke probleme, nemate dadilju, ali možete pričekati da djeca zaspu i potom iskoristiti vrijeme za vas. Dovoljna je večera i razgovor ili uživanju u filmskoj večeri.

Potražite savjetovanje kad je potrebno

Nije neuobičajeno da razlike u stilu vas i vašeg partnera postanu nemoguće za riješiti. No, ne brinite, postoje stručnjaci koji vam mogu pomoći na tom teritoriju. Potražite terapeuta ili stručnjaka za odgoj koji će vas usmjeriti. Iako nekoliko stilova roditeljstva može funkcionirati bez smetnji, kad je podjela velika, nepristran stručnjak može biti dobrodošao.

Nikad nije kasno

Postoji li ikada točka u kojoj je prekasno popraviti štetu koju su prouzročili roditelji? Roditelji često slušaju o dragocjenom razdoblju razvoja u ranim godinama i mogu zbog toga osjetiti pritisak. Ali nikada ne postoji točka u razvoju djeteta za koju bi se smatralo da je prekasno za promjene koje imaju pozitivan utjecaj, kaže Harris. Uvijek ima vremena za poboljšanje, a djeca će imati koristi kad god roditelji odluče surađivati, piše Živim.
