Santiago je nedavno proslavio deseti rođendan okružen ljubavlju svoje obitelji. Ništa čudno, svakog dana takvo slavlje imaju milijuni mališana diljem svijeta, ali Santiagova priča ipak je nešto drugačija.
Nijedno dijete ne zaslužuje biti bez roditeljske ljubavi, a nijedan roditelj ništa ne želi više nego da dijete bude zdravo. Kad se radi o djetetu s teškoćama u razvoju, većina roditelja će učiniti sve što je u njihovoj moći kako bi tom djetetu pružili najbolju pomoć i njegu, piše Amomama.
To nije bio slučaj sa Santiagom kad je rođen u studenome 2012. godine u bolnici u Buenos Airesu. Rođen je sa sindromom Down, što njegovi roditelji nisu znali tijekom trudnoće, a kad su ga vidjeli nakon poroda, odbili su ga odnijeti doma.
Njegova je majka zatražila da kolijevku i dijete uklone iz njezine sobe, odbila ga je prihvatiti, vratila je njegov rodni list, a roditelji odbačenog mališana išli su tako daleko da su rodbini rekli da je beba – umrla.
U to je vrijeme Marcela Casal Sanchez bila medicinska sestra u jedinici za novorođenčad u koju je smješten tek rođeni dječak, a nikad u svojoj karijeri nije iskusila takve dramatične scene da roditelji odbijaju odvesti dijete doma zbog određenog stanja.
Nadala se kako će roditelji ipak promijeniti mišljenje i prihvatiti svoje dijete, čak su i redovnice koje su bile angažirane u bolnici pokušale doprijeti do roditelja, ali ništa nije pomoglo, odbijali su svaku pomisao da uzmu svoga sina.

U priču su se uključili i odvjetnici kako bi se razmotrile sankcije za roditelje, a cijelo to vrijeme maleni Santiago je boravio u neonatološkoj jedinici gdje je primao potrebnu terapiju.
Medicinske sestre s tog i drugih odjela obasipale su ga ljubavlju i pažnjom, nisu željele da se mališan osjeća odbačenim na bilo koji način, sve te "tete" smjenjivale su se u brizi o njemu.
Marcela je osjećala posebnu privrženost i željela mu je pružiti majčinsku ljubav koju mu je uskratila žena koja ga je rodila. Dječak je trebao imati drugačije ime, ali su mu roditelji odbili dati ime Franco kako su prvobitno planirali. Kazali su kako je ime Franco prikladno za zdravo dijete, ne za njega, pa su mu medicinske sestre dale ime Santiago.
Kad je shvatila da se njegovi roditelji neće predomisliti, Marcela je odlučila uzeti stvari u svoje ruke, događalo se to u vrijeme kad je razmišljala o posvajanju djeteta jer nije uspijevala zatrudnjeti sa svojim partnerom.

Santiago je dodijeljen udomiteljskoj obitelji dok se njegova situacija ne razriješi, a Marcela je odlučila posvojiti dječaka. Bio je to težak proces, ali ni u jednom trenutku se nije pokolebala, prošla je svu proceduru, posjete i procjene interdisciplinarnog tima, a bilo je i drugih kandidata za posvajanje.
Konačno su ona i njezin partner pozvani na su sud gdje su doznali da su izabrani za Santiagove roditelje. Bio je to iznimno emotivan dan, u sudnici su svi, uključujući i sutkinju, plakali.
Obiteljski život za Marcelu i malenog Santiaga nije tekao sasvim glatko. Godinu dana nakon posvajanja, partner ju je napustio i otišao svojim putem pa je Marcela postala samohrana majka koja odgaja svoga sina uz pomoć roditelja, a pri ruci su uvijek kad zatreba i njezine kolegice iz bolnice.
Sada desetogodišnjak, Santiago je sretno dijete okruženo bezuvjetnom ljubavlju, odano i izuzetno društveno dijete koje jako voli prirodu i svoje kućne ljubimce, pse i mačke...

Santiago je nedavno proslavio deseti rođendan okružen ljubavlju svoje obitelji. Ništa čudno, svakog dana takvo slavlje imaju milijuni mališana diljem svijeta, ali Santiagova priča ipak je nešto drugačija.

To nije bio slučaj sa Santiagom kad je rođen u studenome 2012. godine u bolnici u Buenos Airesu. Rođen je sa sindromom Down, što njegovi roditelji nisu znali tijekom trudnoće, a kad su ga vidjeli nakon poroda, odbili su ga odnijeti doma.
Njegova je majka zatražila da kolijevku i dijete uklone iz njezine sobe, odbila ga je prihvatiti, vratila je njegov rodni list, a roditelji odbačenog mališana išli su tako daleko da su rodbini rekli da je beba – umrla.
U to je vrijeme Marcela Casal Sanchez bila medicinska sestra u jedinici za novorođenčad u koju je smješten tek rođeni dječak, a nikad u svojoj karijeri nije iskusila takve dramatične scene da roditelji odbijaju odvesti dijete doma zbog određenog stanja.
Nadala se kako će roditelji ipak promijeniti mišljenje i prihvatiti svoje dijete, čak su i redovnice koje su bile angažirane u bolnici pokušale doprijeti do roditelja, ali ništa nije pomoglo, odbijali su svaku pomisao da uzmu svoga sina.

U priču su se uključili i odvjetnici kako bi se razmotrile sankcije za roditelje, a cijelo to vrijeme maleni Santiago je boravio u neonatološkoj jedinici gdje je primao potrebnu terapiju.
Medicinske sestre s tog i drugih odjela obasipale su ga ljubavlju i pažnjom, nisu željele da se mališan osjeća odbačenim na bilo koji način, sve te "tete" smjenjivale su se u brizi o njemu.
Marcela je osjećala posebnu privrženost i željela mu je pružiti majčinsku ljubav koju mu je uskratila žena koja ga je rodila. Dječak je trebao imati drugačije ime, ali su mu roditelji odbili dati ime Franco kako su prvobitno planirali. Kazali su kako je ime Franco prikladno za zdravo dijete, ne za njega, pa su mu medicinske sestre dale ime Santiago.
Kad je shvatila da se njegovi roditelji neće predomisliti, Marcela je odlučila uzeti stvari u svoje ruke, događalo se to u vrijeme kad je razmišljala o posvajanju djeteta jer nije uspijevala zatrudnjeti sa svojim partnerom.

Santiago je dodijeljen udomiteljskoj obitelji dok se njegova situacija ne razriješi, a Marcela je odlučila posvojiti dječaka. Bio je to težak proces, ali ni u jednom trenutku se nije pokolebala, prošla je svu proceduru, posjete i procjene interdisciplinarnog tima, a bilo je i drugih kandidata za posvajanje.
Konačno su ona i njezin partner pozvani na su sud gdje su doznali da su izabrani za Santiagove roditelje. Bio je to iznimno emotivan dan, u sudnici su svi, uključujući i sutkinju, plakali.
Obiteljski život za Marcelu i malenog Santiaga nije tekao sasvim glatko. Godinu dana nakon posvajanja, partner ju je napustio i otišao svojim putem pa je Marcela postala samohrana majka koja odgaja svoga sina uz pomoć roditelja, a pri ruci su uvijek kad zatreba i njezine kolegice iz bolnice.
Sada desetogodišnjak, Santiago je sretno dijete okruženo bezuvjetnom ljubavlju, odano i izuzetno društveno dijete koje jako voli prirodu i svoje kućne ljubimce, pse i mačke...
